《Creating a world can't be that difficult, right?》Chapter 218

After leaving his room, Xan crossed to the second area to go to the library, as before collecting the Pale Purple mushrooms, he needed to know how to recognize them.
Oh his way to the library, he met Gren, who was walking in the opposite direction.
"Hey, Xan. I haven't seen you in a few days. Is everything ok?" Gren asked when they were a few meters apart.
"Oh, yeah. You don't have to worry. I've been on a prolonged cultivation session." Xan replied, laughing.
"And how are you doing with cultivation? I've been practicing a bit and have almost cleaned my dantian already." Gren said casually.
Hearing that, Xan couldn't help but be shocked.
'How is it that you have been practicing "a bit" and have advanced almost at the same pace I got using resources? Is this guy a genius or what?' Xan thought, trying to hide the disbelief on his face.
Trying to stay calm, Xan gathered enough strength to reply without showing any emotion.
"I've already cleaned my dantian, and now I was planning to go to the nearby forest and gather some mushrooms for a mission I saw on Rantia," Xan replied.
"A mission on Rantia? I didn't expect you to be so interested in earning money." Gren said, surprised.
"Well, it is not just the money. Having to search across the forest would help me train my survival skills and put knowledge into testing." Xan said, holding his head high.
"Wow, that sounds great. I may copy your idea once I get my dantian ready." Gren said.
"We can go together sometimes if you want. I'm sure there would be enough mushrooms for us." Xan replied.
"Sure, that would be great."
After making some plans, each one continued with his way.

Xan liked the idea of completing missions with Gren. He was big and strong and would only get stronger the more he cultivated, so being around him meant that Xan would be much safer than on his own, which was very important if they decided to explore more dangerous areas.
And not only that, but he also seemed like a good guy, so working with him would be easy.
After he arrived at the library, he soon found a book about the species that lived in the area and information about them. Realizing it would be helpful for his journey to the forest, he asked if he could take it with him.
After getting the book, Xan left the fortress while reading it, and in less than half an hour, he was at the forest's edge.
'Pale Purple mushrooms grow between the roots of dying trees, so the ideal would be to cross the forest while looking for that kind of tree and see what I can find.' Xan thought as he began to walk into the forest.
He took a drink from his mother's canteen, which now he could use thanks to his dantian, before putting it on his backpack again and taking out his knife.
He had yet to learn how to use his weapon, but he felt safer with it in his hand than without it. To get used to its feeling, Xan toyed with the knife as he walked.
From time to time, he would send some energy to it and see its reaction. Because of the material used to make it, the knife shined when it absorbed energy. It was not enough to create light, but it was a nice visual effect.
Xan knew that if he used more energy, he would be able to coat the weapon to increase its sharpness and toughness, but he didn't want to mindlessly empty his dantian when he had just entered the forest.

The forest was calm.
Xan could only hear the trees' leaves moving with the wind and the birds chirping. The vegetation wasn't very dense, so he had no problem keeping an eye on his surroundings.
After less than ten minutes, he found the first dying tree.
It looked like most others, with the main difference being that it had almost no leaves and holes in the remaining ones. Xan crouched down and dug to inspect the area around the trees' roots.
Once he did that, he found a cluster of three small purple mushrooms. Xan's eyes shined when he saw that, and he collected them using his knife before putting them in a bag.
If finding the remaining twenty-two was as easy as it had been this one, he might manage to get most of them before it got dark.

Legendary Farmer (available on Kindle July 2022!)
NOTE: Legendary Farmer is now COMPLETE. The first book, Clearing, was released on Kindle Unlimited July 5, 2022 with significant edits. I will post the first chapter of Clearing, as well as three chapters of Cuckoo's Dream, another novel in the LF universe, as a stub, with a link to the first book, so if you love LF and want me to be able to keep writing consistently, please go give Clearing five stars! In the VRMMORPG, Veritas Online, things are getting a little stale. Since the game launched, only one world- wide event has occurred, and that was a year ago.. The players are still having fun, but everyone agrees it’s about time for something big to happen. Everybody tends to forget that big things grow from small things, and little things are always changing in Veritas. The human country of Quarternell is at peace for the first time in... ever. Aspen, a former war hero, feels like he’s earned a quiet life together with his animal companions. They’re tired of fighting, and other people in general. They plan to live peacefully, far away from the city. As soon as Aspen figures out this farming thing out, he’s never going to go anywhere again. Unfortunately for Aspen, his country and his goddess aren’t quite done with him yet.Rouge the Rogue is a casual gamer in Veritas Online. She’s just a kid, and her focus is supposed to be on school and hanging out with friends. Emphasis on ‘supposed to’. She’s already pretty good at the school thing, and she doesn’t actually have that many friends. What she really loves is exploring all the cool ways the developers of Veritas found to make their game unique and realistic. Then she’s offered a very special quest, and an opportunity to go beyond the average player. She’s never been that much of a rule follower anyway....Clearing is appropriate for most ages. It has minimal foul language, no sex, and some violence. It is LGBTQ+ friendly. (P.S. IMPORTANT! This book contains very mild profanity, no sex, and is meant to be FUN. Yes, the characters sometimes think Deep Thoughts, and idealism pretty much runs rampant, but, in the end, I hope you just enjoy reading it. Laugh, cry, share it with your kids, read it to your dog, whatever makes you happy. My goal is for it to be accessible to everyone from ages 12ish on up, so you could definitely consider it YA, but with lots of big words because I don't believe in talking down to my readers.) Book Two: Harrowing (Starts after the original Chapter Fifty, now Sixteen, since I condensed chapters from the same perspective together.) Zoey has started her summer internship at Veritas Corporation, and she can honestly say that being an adult is boring. Until she starts learning secrets she was never supposed to know. In game, Rouge is finally making progress on her big quest. Apparently Duke Penbrooke took too long to return to the world, so the world is coming to get him... in the form of a few assassins. Aspen is going to have to face the life he left behind, and deal with the fact that it's not as easy being 'dead' as he thought. When what he'd hoped would be a short trip back to civilization to resupply turns into a whole lot more, he'll have to fight for his life, his friends, and his kingdom. Book Three: Sowing Rouge and Aspen have reached Bright, only to find that their enemies were already expecting them. They will have to quickly unravel the mysteries of who their opponents actually are, because they're already ten steps behind. Rouge and Aspen are finally home, but that doesn't mean they can return to their peaceful days of farming. Their enemies are hot on their heels and determined to destroy everything they've managed to achieve. Join them and all their friends for the final volume of Legendary Farmer.

Iron and Wood - A Tale Of Empire and Clans
For centuries, the Midlands had been split into fragments. A once glorious, united Empire has become a shadow of its former self. Unity has not returned, and not for the lack of trying. The greatest of these successor states were the Li Dynasty to the south, the rulers of old, and the Emerald Empire to the North, with its vibrant vitality. Unity is the end goal, and both will sacrifice anything to attain this elusive dream. For unity would surely solve the conflict that had long plagued this once prosperous continent. The Ironwood Clan was a prime player. Some would consider them the ones holding the reigns to the horse named 'Unification'. Iron and wood were the backbones of civilization; similarly, the Ironwoods were the backbones of the Northern Empire, and by extension, the people of the Midlands. Their methods, as questionable as they might be, had strengthened the North. Yet, were they enough? In the midst of it all, a young Ironwood who had lost his path must once again find his way. For the sake of his own wellbeing; for the sake of his clan; and for the sake of the Empire and its subjects. However, is he willing to sacrifice for the good of all? Is he willing to condemn some for the sake of others? Is he willing to make the right, albeit harsh, decisions? Only the heavens would know. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, events and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. Additionally, any views and beliefs expressed by the characters are not the author's own. The story is also not an endorsement of any actions taken within. The 'profanity' and 'sexual content' warning tags are there to be safe (and to leave room for potential future changes), but for now these two things are not inside this novel. This is my take on 'cultivation', though it might be somewhat disconnected from the general idea of the genre. Release schedule: Two chapters a week. The cover was created using wombo art. While I believe that creations using the app are in the public domain, if that is not the case, I will take it down.
