"Ryujin," You said as you shook your sleeping wife's shoulder. "Ryujin, babe, something's wrong."

Ryujin's eyes flew open upon hearing those words leave your lips, the worst of thoughts rushing through her brain immediately.

"What is it? What's wrong?"

"We're out of ice cream."

A heavy sigh fell from her lips before she rubbed her tired eyes.

"We're out? Didn't we just go shopping a few days ago and got a couple of containers?"

"Yeah but I've had cravings for them every night since and now, we're out."

"We'll get more today. We'll go shopping again in the afternoon." She said before yawning and laying back down.

You pouted and poked her sides and when she couldn't fall back asleep, she let out a whine.

"What time is it?"

"One am."

She groaned and put her forearm over her eyes.

"Please, baby. I need ice cream. The baby needs it."

Oh, so you were pulling that card again.

It's always been hard for her to tell you no but since finding out that you're pregnant, she finds refusing anything you want to be impossible.

"The baby wants it so badly, Ryu. I won't be able to get back to sleep if we don't get it. I can't go without it."

She opened her eyes and sent you a small, tired smile.

"Well, I can't say no to my babies." She said before sitting up. "Any particular flavor?"

"The usual. Our favorite."

"Cookies and cream it is." She said as she got out of bed.

Too tired to get dressed, she just decided she'd run up to the store nearby that was open twenty-four hours in her pajamas and her sandals.

"Wait!" You said as she was just about to exit the bedroom. "Chocolate too."

"Anything else?" She asked as she walked back to your side.

"Strawberry, maybe? They all sound so good, the baby can't pick right now. We'll probably end up eating all of them."

"Okay but not all in one sitting." She joked and pecked your lips.

"Love you. Hurry back."

"Will do." She promised before leaving, pulling out of the driveway a few seconds later.

You decided to go downstairs and wait for her.

With a spoon in your hand, you impatiently waited for her to return as you talked to the little human growing inside of you, telling them about how wonderful their mom is and how lucky they're going to be to have you both as their parents.

It took her a few minutes but the store wasn't too far away, so she was able to return only about twenty minutes later.

"Yay, you're back!" You excitedly said as she walked through the door.

She giggled as she walked to the counter.

"I don't know if you're excited that I'm home because you missed me or because you need your ice cream." She teased and watched you excitedly open the container of chocolate ice cream.

"Both." You smiled and kissed her lips before digging in.

"Want a bowl?"

You shook your head, your cravings so intense that you had no choice but to eat it the way you were.

"Is it good?" She asked as she put her hand on your back. "Does the baby like it? Are they satisfied now?"

"Yeah, pretty much." You said and grabbed a spoonful of it, raising it to Ryujin's lips. "But they'd be even happier if you joined us."

Her heart swelled as she saw the sparkle in your eyes and she parted her lips, allowing you to put the ice cream into her mouth.

"Good, right?"

"Very." She grinned before hugging you from behind. "I love you."

"Are you talking to me or the baby?"

"Both of you." She said as she put her chin on your shoulder. "But I hope you know how in love with you I am. I've been so in love with you for as long as I can remember but something about seeing you pregnant and seeing you find so much happiness in it makes me fall even more in love with you and makes me cherish you even more. I feel like the luckiest woman in the world. I love my babies so much."

"We love you so much too, baby." You said as you turned around, giving her another spoonful of ice cream. "Our baby is going to be the most loved and spoiled baby ever."

"Oh, absolutely." She agreed and kissed your neck softly, looking forward to more nights like these.
