《Dorming With The Jocks》Chapter 22- OLD VERSION

"You're not serious, are you?" Kent nearly yelled, staring down at Missy with almost a pained look. I didn't blame him. The dress I had just bought was now hanging in my closet so nothing could happen to it. I had a feeling this night couldn't end well.
"Obvi, if I went through this trouble," Missy waved her hand at Kent's bed, all decorated, "I'm not joking,"
Charlie sighed loudly and reached over to straighten up my bed.
"I already asked Sadie," Kent finally said and I couldn't help but swell with happiness while Missy's face scrunched with anger. Everyone in the room was quiet, Charlie was staring at me while Missy was glaring at Kent and Kent's eyes wouldn't leave mine although the curtains in the middle of the room were making that harder.
"You what?" Charlie asked, forgetting about my bed and facing Kent again.
While Kent squared up with Charlie, looking like he was ready to fight over this, Ryan was suddenly bursting into the room carrying a bouquet of daisies.
"Those better not be for Sadie," Missy growled at Ryan who rolled his eyes.
"Heck no," He quickly turned to me and continued, "not that you aren't drop dead gorgeous Sadie hun, I'm actually here to ask Kent to the dance," Ryan winked over at Kent who looked as confused as the rest of us and I noticed his face grow a shade darker.
"You're asking Kent to the dance?" Charlie asked, eyeing the bouquet of flowers and glancing towards Missy then to Kent.
"Last I heard he didn't have a date yet," Ryan shrugged and then winked, accompanied with a smirk, at Charlie. "Not jealous, are you?"
Charlie rolled his eyes. "Not in the slightest,"
Ryan glared at him and tossed the flowers he was holding onto Kent's bed.
"I really appreciate it and all Ryan but I've kind of already asked Sadie," Kent turned to me and gave me a shrug.
"And I said yes," I added, making sure to smile at Missy to make her face turn an even darker shade of red than before. Charlie didn't look too happy either.
"It's about time then," Ryan said, not bothered by being rejected for the dance.
"That would have been nice to know earlier," Charlie muttered, standing up straighter and clearing his throat awkwardly. "Well, I'm gonna go,"

Missy, Ryan, Kent and I watched as Charlie fled from the room, across the hall and into his own dorm room with his door slamming loudly behind him.
"This is such bullshit," Missy groaned, stomping from the room as well and it seemed like the three of us held our breath until we heard the elevator door close down the hall.
"Look sorry you went through the trouble Ryan," Kent said, draping his arm over my shoulder and pulling me into his side. "If Sadie hadn't beat you to it I totally would've gone to the dance with you,"
Ryan smiled but also rolled his eyes, waving a hand in front of himself. "Don't be silly. I only wanted to ask you to make Charlie jealous, but I think it might be time to move on from that fantasy,"
"He's not worth it then, Ry," Ryan stepped forward and engulfed me in a tight bear hug.
"You're too sweet," Ryan set me back down on my feet and turned to Kent. "Don't screw this one up, got it?"
"I don't plan on it," Kent pulled me impossibly closer and planted a kiss on the top of my head.
"I'll see you guys around," Ryan headed out of our room and towards the elevator, his room was the floor below ours.
"What a night," Kent sighed, raising his eye brows with a playful grin on his face. It was a dramatic night that was for sure. "I didn't know a dance would cause so much drama,"
"I think anything involving you causes drama," I lightly elbowed Kent's side and he jerked away from me, chuckling but also swatting my elbow away from him.
"Very funny," Kent let go of me and moved to him bed to swipe all of the things off the top. I heard him mutter something about how ridiculous this was while I pulled out pajamas for tonight.
"Here," I turned around to face Kent and his away game football jersey smacked me in the face. "Oops, I forget how clumsy you are sometimes,"
"Normal people would give someone a heads up first," I scoffed but couldn't stop the butterflies as I held Kent's jersey. I would get to wear this at the game before the dance.
"I think you're going to pull that off better than me," Kent said, winking and making me blush even more. "I gotta call my dad, I'll be right back,"

Kent vanished into the hallway so I changed quickly and jumped into bed. I was hoping Kent's phone call was going to be quick but it wasn't. In fact, he didn't come back before I feel asleep.
"Tell me everything," Holly squealed, plopping down next to me at one of the cafeteria tables where Jackie, Josie and I were sitting eating our lunches.
"About what?" Jackie asked but I already knew what Holly was going to say. It was only a matter of time before the whole school found out about the little showdown in Kent and I's room last night.
"Missy and Ryan asking Kent to the dance at the same time!" Holly leaned forward, acting as if this news of gossip was the best she'd heard in years. Ryan couldn't keep his mouth shut for very long anyway.
"I bet that was super awkward!" Josie said, looking to me as if I was going to agree. I ended up nodding but I definitely didn't feel like talking about it. "Kent already asked Sadie though," Jackie said, nudging me excitedly.
"Speaking of which, we need to figure out where we are going for dinner," Josie reminded us for the 5th time today. I hadn't even asked Kent yet. So far the choices were Red Lobster, Denny's or The Onion.
"Nice sweatshirt twenty-four," I heard Kent call out and I instantly turned towards him to smile. I'm glad he noticed I was wearing his sweatshirt, when I had gotten up this morning he was already gone for practice.
Although I had been nervous about how he'd react, I'm happy I wore it now.
"You two are like, grossly cute," Josie complemented, or complained, and the others agreed, giggling along with her. I couldn't stop the blushing from happening even if I wanted to. Kent disappeared with his friends in line to get food and us girls got up to head to our next class. I wish Kent had come in sooner, maybe he would have sat next to me.
As my mind was filled with Kent, I followed Jackie, Josie and Holly out of the cafeteria.
"Watch it!" Missy suddenly was screaming at Jackie who had accidentally bumped into her when opening the door.
"Whoa, cool down, would ya?" Holly said, grabbing Jackie's arm and pulling her a few feet away from the angry Missy.
"Maybe the four eyed bitch needs to watch where she's going," A girl that was standing behind Missy giggled and Jackie immediately bit the inside of her cheeks, trying not to cry.
"I think you need to get out of here Missy," I said, stepping between where Missy was standing still. Her glossed lips pressed together in a thin line and her perfect eyebrows drew together.
"Just because you're Kent's side piece of choice for the season doesn't mean you're anything special," Missy's words stung but not as bad as my cheek did the moment she slapped me right across the face.
For a moment it seemed like time stood still, the stinging in my cheek dulling slightly while I heard Holly threaten Missy. She'd had to wait her turn. I tightened my fist and without missing another second I reared back and punched Missy straight in the face. Missy fell backwards, cupping her nose in her hands and letting out a scream. In seconds a dozen kids were surrounding us and somehow Kent made it to my side in three seconds flat it seemed like.
"What the hell is going on?" He asked, watching as Missy's friend helped her up. Blood was gushing from Missy's nose.
"I'm going to fucking kill you!" Missy screamed and lunged towards me. Even if Kent wasn't there I could have beaten the living pulp out of Missy but thankfully he was.
"Sadie come on," Jackie grabbed my hand and tugged me out of the crowd of students wanting to see what drama was going down now. "Teachers are on their way,"
We hurried as fast as we could, without looking suspicious, back to the girls dorm where we fell onto the couches in the lounge area.
"I cannot believe you just did that," Josie yelled, her face lighting up like a candle as she reenacted me punching Missy.
"Her face was priceless," Holly joined Josie and Jackie in laughing and even I had to admit it felt good to finally punch that chick.
"I shouldn't have done that," I muttered, holding my hand but also remembering how much my cheek had stung after Missy had slapped me.
"She had it coming, plus she hit you first," Holly pointed out.
Even though Missy was the one who hit me first, I knew I hadn't seen the last of her, not even close.
