(It's the love-and-hate relationship I have with showering. Like I love it, it's soothing and calming for me, but then I hate everything about it and have to get reminded of so much in that damn shower. Possible Tw for bugs and death/dead things mentioned)

Showering was always something you dreaded

And although a partial comfort for you

To feel the cold water on your skin

And to go numb and away from yourself

It's also a hell

Having to look at a body that isn't yours

To stare as it contorts into a beast

A monster that you hate

So when showering gets to much

You look up

At the flickering light on the ceiling

One that needs a change

And you look at the bugs trapped there

The flies

The moths

Even the tiny beetles

You look at the specs of former life

The ones right above you

And you get through your shower

You hate to do that

Use a once living thing as a distraction

It makes you feel wrong

It makes you feel uneasy

You wouldn't want that

You wouldn't want someone using your dead body as a distraction

Wow that sounded wrong

But it's true

You wouldn't want someone to finally see you

And see you dead at that

And decide you're a distraction

You don't like using the bugs like that

You don't like staring

You don't like spacing out while looking

But you do

You look

And you get through your shower

Because although you hate it

The shower you hate more
