He done it, he actually did it. Monkey D Luffy has just defeated the notorious Rob Lucci of CP9. The marines were left speechless at this, but to the Strawhats they felt nothing but pride. Even the shipwrights heard the announcement and were cheering. All that was left now was to escape from the island. However the marines weren't going to let that happen, so the pirates got back to business. Zoro swung his swords, Nami conjured more storm clouds, Usopp fired off more shells, and Franky blasted away. Kai sat on top off Funkfreed as the elephant went on a rampage. Another announcement echoed throughout the battlefield.

Marine: Sir, it's Strawhat Luffy! He appears to be severely wounded!

The strawhats stopped once again after hearing this. Usopp ran over to the ledge and began yelling at Luffy to move it or else they would all die, however no matter what Luffy did he couldn't move a muscle. To put it simply he used everything he had to defeat Lucci, even pushed himself beyond his limit, but now it had taken its toll.

Nami: Quick someone grab Luffy, we need to board the ship and get out of her now!

The moment Nami said that the ship behind them went up in flames. That ship was there one way off the island, and all they could was look at it in horror. Luckily from the smoke of the burning vessel, Sanji came charging out carrying those who were on the ship. While everyone was back together, that didn't mean they were safe. The battleships around began opening fire onto them. Everyone started to run, those who were unfortunate got sent flying from the cannon fire.

When the fire ceased and the smoke vanished, the strawhats realized how screwed they were. The blast had decimated the bridge, leaving only a small chunk of it left. A chunk that all of the strawhats were stuck on as the battleships circled around them.

Sanji: Dammit we're surrounded!

Zoro: There's nothing we can do, we have no where else to go!

Nami: Then we'll stand here and fight!

Franky: Don't be stupid, they'll only send more captains after us!

The cannons on the battleships began to turn and were now pointing at Luffy. Luffy tried to move but was still unable to. Meanwhile the others had no way of reaching him, all except one.

Kai: Okay, Funkfreed let's do it!

Kai shot up into the air was Funkfreed transformed back into a sword. The boy quickly flew over to where Luffy was. Once at the tower he swung Funkfreed, the elephant extended like a whip and went down towards Luffy. There Funkfreed wrapped his trunk around Luffy, lifting him up.

Kai: I got him! I got him!

Despite his injuries, Luffy still managed to speak.

Luffy(weakly): Ha ha, thanks Kai.

The achievement was short lived as the marines saw this and adjusted their cannons so that they were now pointed at Kai. Kai became frozen with fear as he couldn't help but stare at the large barrels pointed at him.

Usopp: QUICKLY EVERYONE JUMP INTO THE SEA!

Usopp screamed this out as the strawhats back on the ship stared out at the ocean, amazed by something they were seeing. Back in the sky Kai was startled by what Usopp was saying.

Kai: Wait, but we can't...

Robin quickly cut him off.

Robin: KAI FALL INTO THE SEA NOW!

Marine: One....FIRE!

Kai's wings disappeared into a poof as he, Funkfreed, and Luffy plummeted down towards the water. Right in time to as the cannons collided into the tower. Meanwhile everyone on the bridge jumped right off the bridge.

Everyone: TO THE SEA!

As Kai fell, he looked over and saw something. It was a small boat, badly damaged. Yet, he sensed something strange coming from it. Thats when he heard the voice.

???: Let's go back everyone. Back to the seas of adventure.

They all crashed into the water. Those who could swim climbed onto the boat, meanwhile those who couldn't were simply tossed onto the deck. Chopper and Usopp began to cry tears of joy at seeing their beloved ship back. The others were puzzled by how the Merry managed to arrive at Enies Lobby with no one onboard. Well, there was something on the boat.

Kai landed face down on the deck after being tossed by Kokoro. Funkfreed landed next to him, now back in full sword form. His head shot up as he puked up water. Kai then realized where he was.

Kai: Where are we?

Robin, who was next to him, rested her hand on his head.

Robin: This is the Going Merry, it was our ship before we had to leave it.

Kai: What's it doing here?

Robin: By the looks of it nobody knows, although we shouldn't be complaining. For we now have a way to get out of here.

Within the cabin something could be heard moving around. Several members turned to see what it was. Suddenly the door slammed open, and a pink blur shot out and crashed right into Kai, knocking him down. When Kai opened his eyes, they grew to the size of saucers, for he came face to face with a familiar creature.

Kai: PEACHES!

Indeed, it was truly Peaches who had returned. The monkey had somehow ended up on the boat. Not only that but all of his wounds were bandaged up as well. Kai didn't care, he was only happy to have his friend back alive and well.

Sanji: Wait, so was it the monkey who steered the ship?

From Kai's arms, Peaches began to yelp and screech. Nobody but Chopper was able to understand him.

Chopper: He says that after he fell into the water, he woke up in the medical bay all patched up. After that he said the ship began to move on its own, as if someone was steering it.

Robin: Strange, so how does a ship that was dumped out into the sea make it all the way out here?

Usopp: Who cares, I'm just glad to see she's alright.

Kai suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around him. He looked up and saw his mother, looking down at him fondly as tears gently came out.

Robin: Attention everyone, thank you. For years me and Kai have been separated, rarely seeing each other. Today I thought it would be the last time I would get to see him, as I was prepared to end it all. But no matter what you never stopped trying to rescue me. And now me and my son can finally together again.

Unfortunately, the crew didn't have time to savor this sweet moment, for a very pissed Spandam wanted to see them all blown to bits. The crew began to scramble around, readying the ship. However, the cannons began to fire down onto small vessel, yet none made impact. The projectiles merely crashed into the water. Not only that but the naval ships began to crash into each other.

The reason behind this was the Gate of Justice had closed, thus causing the whirlpools to form again. While Sanji was gone, he went to the control room and pulled the lever that caused this to happen. And now it was proving to be highly effective.

The Going Merry moved into action, quickly making her escape. Cannon fire came raining down, slamming into the water below. The strawhats moved into action, quickly using their various moves to destroy the cannonballs. Sometimes they launched them back. Luffy, despite not being able to move, wanted to join in on the action.

Kai: Thunder Bird Screech!

Kai unleashed his lightning, destroying several more cannonballs. Kai giggled as he heard Spandam yell out in frustration. Speaking about Spandam, he stood on the bow of one of the warships, watching as the Strawhats sailed away.

Spandam: DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT! I had Enies Lobby, CP9, the Buster Call, all in the palm of my hands. And yet they couldn't even stop a small crew of pirates. It's not fair, It's not fair. IT'S NOT FAIR!

Several arms grew on Spandam, the man became dead silent. The arms began pulling on him, forcing his body into an uncomfortable position. He then felt something land on his chest. He managed to look up and saw a blue bird.

Kai: Hey there.

Lightning enveloped the front of the ship as Kai used more lightning than he had used before. When the light vanished Spandam was completely charred to a crisp. Kai quickly flew back before the marines could get to him. The moment he made it back he fell into his mom's arms.

Kai: I'm...tired now.

Robin: Good job honey, I bet his screams would have been pleasant to hear.

Franky: Is that something you should really be saying to a kid?

Nami: Hey Franky, it's time to do your thing!

Franky: You got it!

Franky got onto the back of the boat and got into a stance. At the same time a battleship was heading right for them.

Franky: Alright everyone hold on.

Franky's arms began to inflate to a ridiculous size.

Franky: Coup de BURST!

Franky fired a great blast that managed to sent the Merry flying into the air. Marines watched as the pirate ship sailed through the sky. To add the icing to the cake, Usopp created a smoke screen, preventing the marines from seeing them. They tried to shoot the Strawhats down, but it was pointless. The sound of the cannons soon began to fade as the image of the burning island disappeared into the horizon.

The Strawhat pirates had just escaped from Enies Lobby.
