Stardate 1/18: That time I was resurrected into another world and flexed my culinary might
My mind was reeling, and I fell to my knees in utter incomprehension at the horrifying turn of events that had happened. I had... lost? Desperately, I used [Alter Reality] to grab the script for the last episode and reread it, but it was no use. The judge had ruled against me.
The chef cackled with glee, his face distorting into ugly, grinch-like features as he walked over and yanked at a chain that had somehow been attached to Wanda's collar.
"Mwahahaha!" he said, villainously. "My own slave! Now neither of us will be virgins!"
He leaned over to whisper in Wanda's ear, but couldn't seem to figure out which set of ears to whisper into, so he settled for whispering in her general direction.

"I'm going to do all kinds of things to you, and several of them will be sex," he taunted(?) her, his voice thick with lust and a general lack of class.
"You will die in the attempt, wan," she replied, her eyes bright and heartless as she stared down the chef. She turned towards me, crying several tears as she reached out with one hand.
"Waaah-n! Waah-n!" Master-chama, please save me, wan!"
Her extremely believable cries of fear and sorrow blasted straight through my pitiful self-hatred and shock. Th-that's right! Wanda's life was on the line here! Would I be a good, responsible slave-owner if I were to let her fall into the hands of somebody who didn't respect her as a person and instead treated her like an object?
I clenched my fist and stood back up, instantly confident and no longer sad in any respect.
"Not so fast," I corrected the chef, tapping the side of my head with a single finger (the index finger). "Maybe everybody else has tried my steak... but you haven't."
"Huhhhh?" he sneered quizzically. "It doesn't matter! The judge already said that I won! There's no reason that I should eat any."
"Heh...." I chuckled. "No reason, huh? How about... it's free?"
His eyes widened as I caught him in my logical trap. He carefully walked towards the steak, warily approaching the free food as if it might bite him. He reached out and gingerly picked up piece of steak, scrutinizing it. Shock registered for a moment on his face as he saw the perfect charring on each side of the piece, charcoal-like in its perfection.
He lifted the steak to his lips, and no sooner had it entered his mouth then he arched backwards, collapsing onto the ground by the flavor of the steak, and by the sucker-punch I had struck when he was distracted. He fell to the ground, weeping out loud, and begging me for forgiveness.

"Hiro-sama! I'm sorry! I'm sorry for cheating! I've never tasted anything so delicious before!"
... Nani the hell? He... cheated? I was just hoping that he might decide to trade me back Wanda for the steak, but to think that he hadn't won using his own talent, but instead had bribed the judge. I was shocked. But... that also meant...
"I won!" I declared, pumping my fist into the air. I looked down at the groveling cheater before me.
"Please!" He shouted, "Forgive me! I'm unworthy of your talent!"
"Yes," I said, and unzipped my katana, teleproting behind him with one fell swoop. The chef's head fell from his neck, rolling onto the ground as his neck let out a gout of sparkling light, because this episode was censored for some reason.
"This is the fate of all cheaters," I declared, mostly to myself.
"Boss!" One of the cooks cried, running over to the chef's body as it collapsed. I turned to face the wind blowing through the hole in the wall I'd made earlier, staring directly at the setting sun. I closed my eyes to repair my vision, again, and let out a sly chuckle.
"Don't worry," I reassured them, "I held back. He still has 1 HP. He'll live."
I turned and appraised him with my [Appraisal (but secretly infinite knowledge)] skill to make sure.

"Yokatta," I said (TL Note: Yokatta means よかった), wiping both of my brows in relief. I turned to Wanda, who was giving me a thumbs-up while she was busy cleaning out their dedicated dessert fridge. I used my [Telepathetic] skill to try to give her a psychic headpat at a distance, before remembering that was the wrong type of ESP. I'd figure it out later, probably.
"Why did you spare me?" the chef's head asked, breaking me out of my reverie.
"Because," I said, turning around again, to now face the front of the restaurant. I paused for dramatic effect.
"I thought it would be cool," I said, correctly.
The assorted cooks all agreed that I was very cool and very handsome, as I flexed casually in the kitchen.
Famished by my well-deserved grandstanding, I decided to take a bite of my own steak. It was definitely delicious, but I was still disappointed somehow.
Saa... this was pretty good, but for some reason other than my [Gluttony] skill, I was still unsatisfied. I guess I had a certain itch that I needed to scratch, and this wasn't really doing it for me!
"Um, excuse me, Hiro-sama sir..." a cook asked, "Do you have any more recipes you could teach us?"
"No," I lied. Still... now that she mentioned it, I would literally kill for some Japanese food! Maybe I could... wait a second...
I did a double-take to the cook in question and was simultaneously flabbered and gasted. Somehow, I had missed it before, but this particular cook was both a cook and a busty anime babe! L-lucky! She was looking up at me with wide, disappointed blue eyes. I grinned a smile and coughed.
"Well... maybe I do have a few more recipes I can show you," I decided.
The cooks all applauded, and the hot busty anime babe cook smiled in a way that was super kawaii, becoming a still-frame high-def image to end the episode on.

Two And A Half Deadmen
Silver-Spruce is a very strange and very haunted town. Ghosts inhabit its buildings and walk its streets. Some of them friendly and sane. Some of them not so much. Alder helps ghosts. Helps them fulfill their last requests so they can move on to whatever comes next. Sometimes the ghosts aren't so friendly and have to be moved on by force. Alder does that as well. And he's gotten rather good at it too. After a particularly rough exorcism, he finds himself following a strange ghost to a local tourist attraction. And while Alder never means to find himself caught up in chaos, monsters, magic, and mayhem always seem to have a way of finding him. You want more specifics for what you're reading? Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!
