"What are you even standing on?" Jeff waved a hand between Jet's legs. To his surprise, it hit the surface of something. "Do you like solidify air?"
"No, that is nowhere close to what this is. However, I will be trying that later. Now what I'm doing more has to do with my soul. Which I'm not too sure is a good idea." Jet wondered what would happen if he overused his soul.
"Alright, that sounds dangerous. So while I work on flying, you better work on making sure not to destroy your soul." Jeff pointed at Jet.
"Hey Hogan, is that a problem?" Jet asked.
"I've seen a few fights, and from what I've seen. No one has teleported or stood on air like you two." Hogan looked between Jet and Tulle.
"Ok, that doesn't help at all. Let's get back to work." Jet was excited about learning something new. That went out the window after a few hours, and nothing happened. Not even Tulle could figure out the other spells. As for Hogan, he hadn't figured out anything.
"I'm bored. I'll start our dinner." Hogan got up and walked away.
"Wow, I figured he wouldn't cook again." Tulle watched Hogan leave.
Jet trying not to think about dinner, looked over to Jeff. Who had made some good progress in flying. Ok, he didn't move fast. But a definite improvement from floating. As for Kayley, she was bending shadows around a tree. The shadows changed into different shapes and struck the tree. Jet watched, wondering why none of them was a blade shape. "Kayley, I'm just wondering why you never use a blade shape with your shadows?"
Kayley looked at Jet then all the shadows changed to long blades. The tree stood no chance as it got sliced to pieces. "It's real easy to kill with my magic. That's why I try so hard to make blunt shapes."
"Makes sense, then you should keep at it." Jet looked out into the forest. "Want to go hunting with me?"
"I thought we were getting foraging lessons after dinner?" Kayley reminded Jet.
"Huh? Oh no. I spotted a deer-like creature while I walked over here. I plan to hunt it. Can you sneak?" Jet didn't even let her answer before walking off.
After a few minutes of sneaking around to find the deer trail, Jet noticed that Kayley was a far better sneak than he was. It didn't take them long to find the deer. Kayley's eyes asked Jet what the plan was now. He waved his hand, and the head flew off the deer. He felt something as the deer died but wasn't sure what it was. "You won't even kill a deer?"
"I didn't know you brought me out here for that. Also, I thought you couldn't use magic with your arm until tomorrow?" Kayley jammed a finger into his remaining arm.
"It seems to be working just fine. I didn't do enough damage to the cores for permanent damage, and I said a day or two more. Just as long as I don't go overboard, it should be fine." Jet walked over to the corpse.

"Now, the fun part. We need to drag the deer back and bleed it out." Kayley crouched next to the now-dead deer. She fell back on her, but when a hole in the ground opened next to its neck. That wasn't what had startled her. The blood rushing from its neck into the hole had.
"I don't like to wait." Jet created a stone golem to carry the deer next. It was just too bad Alex wasn't awake. She could have controlled it for him. He checked in on Alex, who was still asleep in the world inside of him.
"You can control people's blood?" Kayley asked in horror.
"Blood is mostly water. But no, I can't pull the blood from anyone. As long as they are still alive, that is. Everyone seems to have some magic field around them. So don't worry, I can't kill someone with their own blood." Jet, however, did not mention that people without any magic were a different story. But he would keep that to himself. That's all he would need is for everyone back on Earth to know what he could do.
"Might I ask how you even discovered you could manipulate blood like this?" She asked.
"I did it on myself first." That was all Jet said as he returned to the house. He left Kayley sitting on the ground.
Kayley sat there until Jet got out of her sight. "Jetsford, you may be as scary or more than my brother."
Everyone was delighted to see Jet had a deer in tow. Too bad for all of them. Hogan had already made dinner. It looked like a stew made out of roots. "You made sure none of these roots was poisonous, right?" Jet poked at his food.
"The roots have been analyzed and are safe to eat." The AI Alteras notified Jet.
"How did you analyze something? I didn't hook anything up like that." Jet questioned.
"There is a camera on the monitor. So it was simple to look at the roots and compare them to what's in my database." The AI had a smug expression glued on her face on the monitor.
"Right, of course, why not. But seriously, Hogan, there is nothing you can use as spices around here. Even salt would be a big help." Jet complained as he ate the soup.
"You can make the meals tomorrow." Hogan huffed out.
"Planned on it." Jet said right back.
"I don't get it. Hogans food tastes just fine to me." Tulle added.
"I've lived here long enough that I got used to the bland food." Kayley shrugged.
"So what is salt anyways?" Hogan asked.
Jet wasn't sure how to explain that but didn't need to worry. The AI filled them in. "Salt is not a substance in this world. So if Jetsford and Jefferson were to stay here, they would die slowly. Since their bodies need salt to live."
Jet didn't like the sound of that. "How do you even know something like that?"
"We researched all the civilized worlds around this sector of space. It was judged that the planet you were from would die out. You guys were dying in the millions at the time. Planet Earth, as you call it, and many other worlds, believe it or not, have the same name. Most of the time, never get to the technological phase." The AI explained.

"Glad to know we're so violent." Jet got up to head back out.
Before Jet got out the door, it spoke again. "Yes, but people from worlds like yours make great fighters. This world wasn't quite as violent as your world. But I believe we have pushed this world to that point."
Jet got out to the yard and looked around. 'So this is what happens to a world when someone screws with them.' He thought and relaxed. At least time didn't feel off anymore.
"Hey Jetsford, what Alteras said in there was wrong of her." Kayley patted his shoulder.
Jet's eyebrows scrunched up. "No, what the AI said was true. I'm amazed we haven't killed each other. We got nukes pointed at each other all the time."
"What's a nuke?" Kayley asked.
"Something that can kill millions of people at once." Jeff walked out the door. "I'm with the AI. I'm amazed we haven't killed each other off yet. So you said after dinner, we get to learn foraging?"
"Yes, and apparently, there is no salt for us to find. So we will look for other kinds of seasonings. Hopefully, this world has something we can use. Not sure if I want to stay too much longer if I have to keep eating bland food." Jet said.
"I got to ask. Why would we need to forage every day? Won't we have enough after a few days?" Jeff asked.
"Yes, but it is so we can rest. Work too hard, and you'll burn out. This is all I could think of to relax and keep our minds clear." Jet closed his eyes and looked up before opening them.
"Why couldn't we just relax around the house?" Jeff smiled.
"That's simple. It's to make sure no one is making their way toward us. Think of this excursive as a way to keep an eye on things. We are criminals, after all." Jet closed his eyes, sighing.
"Oh right, I had blanked all that out. But you know, by the end of the week, we could go home." Jeff reminded him.
"I can send you both to Earth, but I plan to go to the Alteras Tower." Jet looked at them. "Don't tell the AI. I plan to destroy the tower."
"How?" Kayley spoke up.
"I'll work on the details later." Jet walked off into the forest. "Tell Tulle she has to come along. Hogan may be old, but she is young and needs to learn."
It hadn't mattered that Jet wanted Tulle to come along. Both Hogan and her had already planned on going. He split them up, him and Hogan on a team. Jeff, Kayley, and Tulle made up the other team. Jet basically asked them to bring everything they found back. He also gave a quick guide on how to pick different plants.
"Hey, looks like we're meeting back up with the others." Hogan pointed at the other group.
Jet looked up from picking the world's ugliest plant. "Hogan, can I ask you something?"
Hogan sighed. "I hate it when people ask that. Why not just ask the question?"
"What do you think of Kayley?" Jet asked.
"She's a nice person from what I've seen. Why do you ask?" Hogan looked over at her.
Jet let out a long sigh. "Someone told me I need to watch out for a certain World Jumper I can't trust."
"Well, that person couldn't have said who not to trust?" Hogan shook his head. "So, now your not sure who you can trust? At least the World Jumper's. Let me ask you this. Has Kayley ever given a reason not to trust her?"
"If you saw my record of choosing friends lately, you would also be suspicious." Jet remembered the last few people he had trusted that went completely wrong.
"That's life. Jet, if there is one thing I've learned over the years. A person is just a person. If you worry about being backstabbed by everyone, then you will die alone. I've only known those three for a few weeks. I see no reason not to trust them." Hogan leaned over and whispered. "The key to living a good life is never looking back with regret." He walked off to the others, waving at them.
Jet let out a small chuckle. "Yeah, wish I could look back without regret." He walked over to tell the others it was time to head back.
The AI looked at what had been brought back. "Yeah, some of this could work for seasonings. As usual, the poisonous ones would be the best. Just eat it in small doses." Alteras pointed at each one that could be used as seasonings.
"But these plants are deadly to eat. "Hogan pointed out.
"Not all of them." Jeff pointed at a few. "But seasonings generally are poisonous if you eat too much. That's why you only sprinkle them on the food."
"That sounds like the dumbest thing I've ever heard," Hogan said.
"I'm going to have to agree." Kayley poked at the plants.
"Well, I hope you guy's don't have too much of a problem. I'm making breakfast with these in the morning. Hey Tulle, help me crush these." Jet brought them to the kitchen.
"Hey, Jetsford, when were we going to do sword practice? You didn't mention a time for that." Kayley followed Jet into the kitchen.
"We will start in the early morning hours. Jeff tends to stay up late and sleep in. Will that be a problem?" Jet asked.
Kayley smiled. "Nope, I get up early. So that won't be a problem."
