Andhi (Awnd-hi) - Sprout in Gimley’s cohort.
Anore - Motherly storm bird in the Rookery.
Azabel (Az-AH-bell) - Sister goddess to Heliquat.
Barra - Whisper woman and Tracker of the Rookery.
Breck - Sprout in Gimley’s cohort.
Chirp - Wren’s bird companion. He is a wren.
Cloud - Storm bird in the Rookery. Very gentle flying.
Dera (Deer-a) - Sprout in Gimley’s cohort.
Douwan - Tufani’s adult son and Miyan’s father.
Ekail - Friendly Carver that Tufani introduces Gimley to. Gifts Gimley a wooden carving of a storm bird.
Ento (En-to) - Sprout in Gimley’s cohort.
Esie - Intermediary for the Lady of Calm Waters. Gives Gimley advice on occasion and keeps tabs on her.
Fellen - A huntress’s apprentice in the Gabbler Shore tribe.
Gimley (Gim-lee)/Gimlea (Gim-lay-ah) - Main character. Stubborn.
Heliquat (Hell-e-quat) - Goddess ruling over the territory where the story takes place. Largely associated with darkness, death, pine trees, and blood.
Her Beloved/ The Beloved - The only person to personally win Heliquat’s favor and convinced Her to allow humans to live in Her territory. Now she helps to act as an intermediary between the goddess and humanity.
Idra (Ee-dra) - Sprout in Gimley’s cohort.
Jin - The cohort’s assigned teacher when they arrived at the Seedling Palace.
Juniper - Sprout in Gimley’s cohort.
Loclen (Lock-lin) - Sprout in Gimley’s cohort.
Magda - A Carver of few words that Tufani introduces Gimley to.
Milwa - Prevna’s mother and leader of her Picker band. She had Prevna call her by her name from a young age in public as “she couldn’t only be her mother.”
Mishtaw - Whisper woman. Leader of the squad Gimley and the rest get assigned to when they go the shore. Now Gimley’s sole allowed whisper woman mentor.
Miyan - Young girl living in the Rookery.

Chapters are published every 2 days at 21:00 GMT. Author’s note:-It can get very GORY. I’m somewhat desensitized to gore and violence. So while the story isn’t full of gore for the sake of gore, it can get a little too descriptive.-The MC is a necromancer, so corpses and decay, and all the things that come with it, will be mentioned from time to time.-I’m a huge fan of Egyptian, Slavic, and Greek mythology, so expect quite a bit of that. That said, so much is altered, you’ll be hard-pressed to guess how exactly it is being used.-Despite being ‘immortal’ the MC can die. In the event he does, the story doesn’t end, simply time skips forward. Which in some cases is going to be worse than just dying.-I love plot twists, as much as I love red herrings and Chekhov guns. This story is a pathetically poor, but still a desperate attempt to reveal the depths of human emotions and what they can drive us to do. If I had to explain my book, I would say imagine Re:Zero, but the main character can actually fight people instead of just getting merked every time he meets someone with a weapon. The themes of this story are dark, so be forewarned. This is my first story so keep that in mind while reading it.

This is a story about that settlement, and some other stuff. Maybe. Disclaimer: Not sure if it qualifies enough for a gore tag. There is a description of someone's death somewhere in this, but I don't think it is descriptive enough to justify a gore tag. Disclaimer part deux: I initially started writing this as background for another story but got so into it I just ended fleshing it out a bit. Disclaimer part tres: People love reading disclaimers don't they? It's why I've included so many. They're just for you. Disclaimer part four: I know, this is getting egregious. You're starting to find it less funny. Just wait till the twentieth disclaimer, it will start being funny again. Disclaimer part five: I'm kidding, this is the last one. I wrote this story without breaking it down into chapters. It just goes, that means that the chapter ends when it ends, not when there is a convenient break in the story.
