《Law of God (Book 1)》Chapter Six

After the court arraignment was over, Jacob and I were on our way home. Jacob was asleep on the passenger's seat.
I smiled at Jacob. Jacob's trial was set for January twenty fifth of next year. Izza has been gone for over a week now, and I wondered how Mr. and Mrs. Miller were doing.
I still think someone is setting up Jacob.
I sighed, continuing to drive. Jacob moaned and woke up. "Are we almost home?" Jacob asked, wondering.
"Yes, Jacob, we're almost home," I answered back.
Jacob could tell I was worried about him. I took a deep breath and sighed. "I'm sorry," Jacob said, before I turned my head. "I'm sorry I made you feel worried," Jacob said.
I sighed once again, "Jacob, I... I think... I... you know what never mind," I said, before pausing.
"I didn't do it," Jacob said.
"And I believe you," I answered back.
"Do you? Really?" Jacob asked.
"Yes," I said, before turning my head back to Jacob, and softly smiled.
Jacob sighed, turning his head out the window. "What if I go to prison?" Jacob asked, I continued paying attention to the road, and not knowing what to say about Jacob's question.
I felt sorry for Jacob, because I didn't want him thinking the way he was. Jacob is already worried he's going to prison, and I am going to do everything I can to defend my own brother.
Jacob is soon to be fifteen years old, and has autism. I don't understand how the people of the law don't understand what it's like to have a child who has autism.
"Jacob, can you look at me?" I asked.
Jacob turned his head back to me once again. "I am going to do everything I can to help you. As I said before. I am your brother, I am a lawyer, and you can trust me," I said to Jacob. "Do you understand what I am saying?"

Jacob sighed, shaking his head, "Yeah, I do," Jacob answered back. I softly smiled at Jacob, and Jacob turned his head facing straight at the road.
As soon as Jacob and I arrived home, I had to make a quick phone call. Jacob understood, and he went up the stairs to his bedroom.
I dialed a private investigators number, who's name is Benjamin Kyle. Benjamin was thirty five years old, and has been a professional private investigator for five years.
It went straight to voicemail.
"Hi, my name is Ryan Morgan, I am a lawyer. I would like to see if you and I can work on a case together? My number is (701)- 521-4965. I would appreciate it if you can call me as soon as possible, thank you so much, bye bye."
As soon as I finished leaving a message for Benjamin, I took a deep breath and slowly sighed.
Jacob was being accused of being a killer. I still think Jacob is innocent. I could never see Jacob mistreating anyone. Jacob is full of love, kindness, and happiness.
Jacob may not have a lot of friends, but Jacob is the most important person in my life.
Jacob was the only family member who was born with a disability, and nobody else in my family would not understand the importance of Jacob's learning disability.
It's sad, really sad.
I may have days where I want to give up on Jacob. I couldn't. I just couldn't give up on my little brother.
I promised myself that I would never abandon Jacob. Jacob needs me, and I need him.
My mother was always so supportive of Jacob. She was also supportive of Jacob's learning disability.
I promised my mother before she died, Jacob will become my responsibility. That is shy my parents wanted me as Jacob's legal guardian. Jacob needed someone to look after him.

I sighed, walking my way up the stairs. I saw Jacob sitting on the edge of his bed, and Jacob was looking at a picture of him, my parents and I all together.
I walked into Jacob's bedroom, and I asked Jacob if he was okay. Jacob looked at me, and I saw tears streaming down Jacob's face.
I walked up to Jacob and sat next to him. Jacob was explaining to me about how much he misses our parents. I told Jacob I was missing mom and dad as well. Jacob continues to cry.
The only thing I can think of about Jacob being a suspect of a crime, is either David was setting up Jacob, because I think David had something to do with Izza's murder.
But I wasn't sure.
My mothers name was Emilia, and my fathers name was Joseph. I remember my mother telling me a story of how she first met my father.
My mother was still in college, around senior year, and my father was a senior as well. They became friends from freshman year to graduating college together.
My mother fell in love with my father, and my father asked my mother one day to be his girlfriend. My mother at first didn't think she was ready for a date. But that all changed in a matter of weeks.
Before my parents became detectives, they had other jobs that they wanted to do. My mother wanted to become a police officer, and my father, he wanted to become a doctor.
I sighed, lying down on my bed. I was lying flat, starring straight up at the ceiling. If my parents were still alive, they would be proud of Jacob, and not just me. Jacob has improved a lot with his autism, because autism is a serious issue for many young children and adults.
I love Jacob with all my heart, I do. I just wished it wasn't true for Jacob who's being convicted for a crime. I could have sworn that I could have been right about David who is the one who's possible suspect of killing Izza.
Again, I wasn't sure. I was just overthinking.

Today was a great day. I died. It wasn't a great day because I died. No, it was a great day and I died. One has nothing to do with the other. Enough nonsense. Let's continue with the topic we're all curious about. Why was it a great day? I achieved my dream to transform my real life into an MMORPG. Grinding skills, leveling up, collecting coins, going on an adventure, and making progress on my main quest. The dream of every gamer. And no, I'm not mad. Let me give you some context before we continue. I'll keep it short, for we have more urgent matters to discuss. Art by: Roland Deaconu
