《Azurlane: Future Prosperity》Chapter 15: A Prelude between the duel

Within the Mirror sea was a battle, between the feared Elite Seeker, Apex and The United States Recommisioned Ticonderoga-class cruiser Philippine Sea.
An intense battle of attrition, Philippine sea has an advantage of a Weapon in the form of the infamous Itak and Pira of the Philippines.
Both were Machete type weapons and were relatively short but it was enough against the claw dependent Apex who had now lost 5 of her lives.
The Mirror Sea of the 21st century allows a Siren to gain multiple lives, in particular Seekers get 6 while Elite Seekers has 9.
"Wrong STEP!"
Like scissors Phillippine Sea placed both her Weapons by Apex's shoulders and decapitated her, Philippine Sea then took the time to recover her stamina.
She was now fatigued fighting Apex, there was a chance she would die here in this dimension. But she looked on the bright side having a fevor dream about Admiral Jess Loraine finaly accepting her Confession.
"This Boss fight is Hella Hard!"
Apex complains as her head regrew and the decapitated one disapearing.
Philippine Sea took her battle stance but being wary she immediately used a different technique, using her Machete's like an Arnis she leaped forward aggressively aiming for Apex's tendons and calf.
"I did Say..."
Apex was making it clear, her hands straightened forming the pose of a Martial Artist she disarmed Philippine's left hand literaly by sidestepping and chopping it off clean. Taking the fatigued Philippine Sea by surprise.
"Urk..!"
Philippine Sea recoiled in Pain. Apex was not intending to give her room and once again she took the offensive but she was stopped, by a hail of Missiles.
"You guys are using this Missiles so Sparingly! The Modern Era should've defeated every ww2 faction." Apex was dissapointed but immediately found out the reason. "Hehe, I get it. All of you are scared to make a change."
"I'll be back home after I deal with you. I'll enjoy my retirement to the Fullest!" Philippine Sea proclaims with the brightest smile.
"You're so full of life! Very different from Mirai." Apex grew excited by the surprisingly difficult opponent. "Is she with you?" But then Apex remembered, Mirai an even fiercer warrior than she is facing now.
"Why would I tell you?" Philippine Sea took a stance with her only hand drawing out the Pira's true stance.
"I'll let you out."
"Realy?"
"Of course, since when did I ever lie."
It was a convincing Offer. And Philippine Sea realy wanted to live out her life, she was never close to Mirai but she did hear stories.

"She was deployed at the front gates. Now your Promise."
"Of course with so much help I couldn't just say sike, I lied."
Philippine Sea dropped her stance, the bloodloss had made her delirious.
"The Gate" she orders.
"I didn't say you'll leave alive though."
As Apex said that the Pira by Philippine Sea's hands swept at angle maximising it's lethaly. Apex made her move, she used her foot more importantly her heels to stop the blade and threw the direction off target giving her an open gut.
"!!!!" No sound came out of Philippine sea as her insides slowly went out of place. And yet her face that saw and felt horror paled.
"You fought well. Hehehe... but in the end, You're too old."
Apex whispers to the dying Philippine Sea as she decapitates her head.

Returning to the Present Deutschland was already killed and Apex's sights were on Mirai who fled.
Hopping from Roof to roof Apex was pissed, her eyes looked in every direction trying to find Mirai.
On the Other hand Mirai who was running to the streets halted by a familiar Face. Though it sported an unfamiliar expression she never saw before.
Admiral Jess Loraine Hood stood over a man wearing a High ranking officer's uniform. Her face had deep concern as she looked over the man.
"Admiral what happened."
"..... Mirai...?" Her voice was faint clearly dealing with an uncertain sadness.
"Yes It's me."
Mirai's question was ignored. Instead the Admiral looks up to the skies and begged Mirai.
"Mirai... I... Request of you to kill Apex."
The German Admiral raised his head upon hearing the name.
"I can't do that."
Hans looked behind to see Mirai, being in a position lower than her it seemed that Mirai had some sort of dominating aura, add that the blood of the German Destroyers she probably didn't kill made it looked like Mirai was borne from a nightmare.
"Why not." Jess questions with an angered tone.
Mirai looked down noticing the gaze, and witnessing the German's reason to weep. It was a dead kansen with a hole in her chest.
Mirai finaly understood. What had happened. "I was defeated. But I... Stole Philippine Sea's head from Apex. If that's enough to quell your anger."
Mirai hands out a concealed plastic bag that she took from her storage.
"Philippine Sea's body is resting inside, once the battle is over I'll try and reattach it to give her a proper funeral."

Rear Admiral Hood tipped her hat down and walked away.
"Why couldn't you win."
The German asked. He seemed to be a highranking officer and so Mirai answered sincerely.
"I am not whole. I am a Shattered Person, conflicted in every turn. Even now I couldn't face my fears. I'm sorry."
Mirai ended it with a bow and turned to leave but just then. Latin Music starts playing.
"MIRAI!"
Hans saw the Jacket of his beloved worn by her murderer. To say he was furious was an understatement.
He stood up and pulled out his gun. Apex stared amuse, as he was about to fire Mirai stopped him.
"Again I'm very sorry but you must survive for her."
"Don't dictate what I want to do in my last breath."
"Shoot her and it will not end with your last breath. This Monster your facing is more willing to torture than a quick death." Mirai noticed it herself. She was acting strange, clearly not her typical self.
"Hoho.. So Mirai any more cool tricks? If not then I'm afraid it's sayonara."
Mirai reconfigured her rigging, she doesn't know why but she was very reluctant to using this weapon. A Large Sword at the size of a Greatsword, the Odachi, it bore a resemblance to a fiery fields reddish in color with a balance of blue.
It was Mirai's last resort. If she had a katana it wouldn't have been a problem, but she still felt terrible for using the Odachi.
"Yamato, a Sword that brings peace. Or so the legend says." Mirai was doubtful, she never did learn how to use such a weapon and it didn't particularly fit with the hip belt. It was too cumbersome for an easy draw.
Apex was amused. This was after all her first time actualy having a chance against Mirai, and even if the WaraiOni (The Demon in Mirai) surfaces it would've been more easy to accomplish the Mission.
"I'll lose. That's what I could tell." Apex admits but she has a plan.
The Battlebegan with a Rush into Mirai's chest, but was immediately blocked. Her composure in the first hit made Apex smile.
Not letting up Apex continued on her nonstop relentless offense. Leaving Mirai with a heavy cumbersome sword to use against small precise deflection.
Naturally Mirai was Losing. The Odachi was not fit for use to those untrained with it because it is used best by cavalry units.
A scratch went through Mirai's defence, marking her cheeks with a blood red stream.
"If only you had that precious Katana with you." Apex mocks revelling in the best situation to enact her revenge on Mirai using her circumstances as a heel.
"..."
Rage was the only thing that can trigger the WaraiOni to awaken, and Mirai tend to not have much fondness with it as often than not it kills more allies than enemies.
"Stop running." Apex commands.
Mirai did not answer but she dodge at a second before her face got hit. Using the momentum of her dodge she angled her Odachi downward and made a clean sweep.
Apex narrowly dodges getting disabled, "A new technic. Not as gracefull for your past but it did do the trick right?" Apex immediately ducked surprised by another sweeping attack.
"Oi, oi, oi! This isn't you."
Mirai paid no heed, instead her focus immediate directs to the German admiral. "If I were you I would've ran away!"
"Then you're a coward."
Annoyed by the response Mirai hurried the man. "Tch, just get out of here! I don't wanna protect a human against an elite seeker."
"Then don't."
Mirai only looked back with a bloodcrazed glare. Her face warped in anger, but she quelled it for now. Only having 3 lives left Mirai began formulating a plan, it Didn't help the face that she was equiped with a sword unfamiliar to her own however, the clothes she had worn to use the spear has a secret weapon she'll use as a last resort
Apex immediately got behind Mirai during the time she was pre-occupied. Using her continuos speedy momentum she leaped from a side of a structure and targeted Mirai from behind.
Mirai knew she was doomed no matter what she does, so that plan she was saving up as a last resort had to be used.
It was the Pointed hairpins that tied her hair, there may be no sharp edges it can use as a standard knife however this hairpins can be considered throwing knives or a Shuriken Nail.
It happened so fast for Mirai to know wether it hit or not. Thankfully due to that counterattack, Apex had to retreat from a certain distance covering her face that slowly drips in blood.
"Did not see that coming!" Apex lets go of her hand showing the extent of the injuries she had accumulated that quickly heals. "Another lost of life. Hehehe... Lets fight for real. Just like old times, what do you say?"
Mirai took her stance. "Time to face my fears then."

They never called, yet he is here (censored edition)
Introduction:Not every world needs a Summoned Hero, even if it is possible to summon one. No, really! Everywhere, no matter the time, there are always good people who can use glory, power and personal harem themselves. And the one who was summoned? He is just a resource, nothing more… Translation of the original novel by Avada KadavraThe uncensored version is available here.Authors notes:This is just my take on the whole Hero Summoning thing, where a hero happened to survive.Fatal mistake, an error in a well-oiled mechanism that lasted for generations, gave a Hero a tiny chance to decide his own fate. After all, bad guys never expect a Hero to come, yet, the fucker still does.Partially inspired by the series “You summoned the wrong one” by Aitbaev T.A. who was in turn inspired by “Rise of the Shield Hero”.I have to warn you, Aibaev’s work of fiction is pretty out of ordinary, it makes one breath fire, cry until tears turn to blood and laugh to unconsciousness in equal measure.
