《BECOMING THE BUSINESS MAGNATE'S SPOILED WIFE》Chapter 20: No More Divorce

Shang Yan said nothing.
Since the day the doctor announced that he needed to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, he had isolated himself from the world.
He used coldness to scare away anyone who tried to get close to him.
Only Qu Xiao was an exception. She was like a warm sun revolving around him tirelessly and slowly melting his heart.
In the villa, the butler could not help but heave a sigh of relief when he saw Shang Yan and Qu Xiao coming back as a harmonious couple without mentioning divorce again.
In the bathroom, Qu Xiao soaked herself in the bathtub to get rid of her fatigue. She changed into her robe and used a towel to wrap her wet hair before retrieving the shopping bags that were left in the living room.
Qu Xiao brought the two shirts she specially picked out and knocked on the next door.
Shang Yan’s back was facing the door. He thought that the butler was here to deliver water, so he said, “Come in.”
He unbuttoned his shirt and threw it into the laundry basket.
Shang Yan did not hear the butler’s voice for a long time. When he turned around and saw Qu Xiao, both of them were stunned.
Qu Xiao covered her eyes in shock. She could not help but peek at Shang Yan through the gaps of her fingers. He was always in a wheelchair and despite his thin appearance, he had beautiful muscles. The veins on his arm were emitting hormones and made him seem exceptionally sexy.
Shang Yan was a bit embarrassed. He picked up his coat and wanted to put it on, but he pulled on the wound on his shoulder.
Qu Xiao noticed the bite marks and bruises on his left shoulder and quickly ran over. She gently touched Shang Yan’s shoulder and felt his muscles tense up. Looking distressed, she asked, “Did I hurt you?”

Shang Yan shook his head. Qu Xiao recalled how Ling Chi rushed over at the police station. She felt sorry for Shang Yan.
“It’s all because of me!”
She quickly found the first aid kit and disinfected his wound.
Her hair that was emitting the fragrance of oranges gently touched him. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he avoided eye contact.
Qu Xiao pretended to grumble, “How long do you want to hide your true self? Is it so hard to find someone else to help you?”
“I’ll help you onto the bed.” Qu Xiao lifted the blanket. When she saw Shang Yan opening his mouth, she quickly said, “Don’t reject me!”
Shang Yan could not dissuade her. He unlocked the safety lock of the wheelchair and guided Qu Xiao to stand beside him.
He slowly placed his arm on Qu Xiao’s shoulder. She wrapped her arms around his waist and supported him with some difficulty. In the end, she successfully made him lean against the bed frame.
Qu Xiao wiped the sweat off her forehead and smiled brightly.
She returned to the door and placed the shirt before Shang Yan, measuring the size with her hand.
Shang Yan asked, “You bought it for me?”
Qu Xiao nodded and said coquettishly, “It was a gift, but I regret it now and want to make a deal with you!”
Shang Yan’s thin lips curved into a faint smile, indicating that he would satisfy all her requests.
“Don’t scare me with the divorce agreement anymore!”
Qu Xiao twisted her fingers and pouted her shiny red lips. She quickly looked up at Shang Yan. “I was very stupid and threatened you with divorce every now and then. But I’m a girl. You can’t be like me!”
“Promise me, whatever problems we might face, we have to find a way to solve them. We cannot mention divorce anymore!”

Shang Yan frowned and stared at her with probing eyes, as if trying to guess her intentions.
“What did the director say? Are you really going to sue Ling Chi? Have you thought about the consequences?”
Qu Xiao knew he was changing the topic and frowned. She did not want to bring up that hateful name at this moment. She said lightly, “He tried to harm me a few times. Should I just bear with it silently? Moreover, he tried to separate us!”
“You have proof?”
Upon hearing his awkward question, Qu Xiao finally understood what he meant and stuffed the phone into his palm. “Here, the chat history! The password is your birthday. I have no secrets from you.”
Her eyes were clear and bright, and she was not guarded against him at all.
Shang Yan’s heart skipped a beat. His pupils wavered as he scrolled through the screen. He did not see any suspicious conversation he had imagined.
Ling Chi had been deceiving and instigating Qu Xiao to steal the core secrets of the Shang Group.
Qu Xiao was hesitant. She had even rejected Ling Chi many times, clearly saying that it was wrong of them to do this.
Qu Xiao probably chose to commit suicide to force Shang Yan to divorce her because it was too painful to be sandwiched between two men.
Shang Yan returned the phone to her, and it was obvious that he had let down some of his guard and resistance.
Qu Xiao placed her hand in his palm and interlocked their fingers. Pointing at her heart, she said, “My heart almost broke when you mentioned divorce!”
