8 1935Living In The System - A LitRPG with more story, less text boxes
In the ancient echoes upon it’s great boughs, Yggdrasil holds all the knowledge in existence. Indeed, all of creation swings from its immense branches and leaves. The howls that creep through its cavernous spaces were not caused by the wind. No wind could be powerful enough to shake The Tree, yet it rocked. A great battle raged in its dew drops and amongst its roots. A War for control. For knowledge is power, and power is everything. A furtive glance over her shoulder told the hurried goddess that she was not being followed. That was good. What she had just done would be a great risk. Placing a new thread on a world so soon to be destroyed was costly. She would be greatly diminished, but her work was not done yet. In the myriad of infinite worlds, there lies Genia. A starter world, of very little importance. It is where she will find her champion. Killian never got the chance to see the world. Yet he is given opportunity. Opportunity not just to see the world, but to change it... to change all of creation. There are many stories to tell upon the Tree of Yggdrasil, where all of creation hangs from its branches. The power of destiny fuels all, but destiny is fickle. He can only pray that things will go well. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Fourteen years ago, the world changed forever. The eternal rivalry between demons, archangels and humans ended, and the surviving races were unified in one land. Years passed, and a new society emerged along with an era without gods or religions. However, Noir, an orphan boy from the kingdom of Trinity, has not been so fortunate. Since his birth, and even before, the consequences of millennia of war have condemned him to a miserable life. The heritage of a weakened race and the legacy of a superior being have forced him to become a hero he didn't want to be.

On hiatus while I rewrite. Freyja is more than your average adventurer . . . That is, she would be if any adventurer could be called average. She travels across Tamriel with her family. Crazy politics, troubles with local villages, relationship problems- bad luck always seems to find this unfortunate traveler at the worst times. Will Freyja survive life's heartlessness? Or will she be overcome beneath its ruthless trampling? Follow alongside to uncover this unhappy traveler's fated path! Note: This is book one of a five book series. Note: I had help from the Royal Road community to write the synopsis. Special thanks to all the authors that contributed! Important!!!: This is an Elder Scrolls/Skyrim fanfiction. I do not own nor claim any sorts of rights to the incredible game Bethesda has created! I’m writing this for fun. [WARNING!!: Contains beheadings, backstabbings, murders, lots of gore, mild swearing, drugs, and the use of alcohol. Content may not be suitable for all audiences.] This is my first book, so please don’t judge the grammar too harshly. I’m leaving all the editing for when it’s done anyway. Note: I am writing on Webnovel, Scribble Hub, and Royal Road. IMPORTANT!!: I will be working mainly with the user Lyric_Drake. I give credit to them, because they have helped develop the story and what will come afterwards. They also helped with lore and character design. And they came up with the title! So great job Lyric_Drake, and thank you!

In the frontier lands of the north, a young mage has set out upon a quest for vengeance. She is joined in her journey by the two unlikely protectors of a small village, who are hopeful that by helping her they can remove a dangerous threat to their home. However, unbeknownst to them, the challenges and secret truths of their journey are far greater than any in the group are prepared to handle. Note: This novel is draft here on Royal Road. Some parts may be lower quality than expected of a published books, and other parts may change in the final version. It is also the prequel to an already written book (Sunchild), and thus some things may not be explained/be confusing without the context of the main book (i.e. this book is not a walkthrough of the world and does not explain things very much).
