《The Zodians - Book 1: The Outlander》The Return of Warriors - Chapter 17: For Him!

Blood dyed the ground red, corpses lying like straw. Nermesis skimmed past their bodies, the ends of her skirts grazing in a pool of blood, drawing blood lines as she drew an abstract painting. Twenty-four monks guarding Eldermond Abbey at Sandringdom were brutally killed with a slash to the throat. Eldermond Abbey is where Lapunta lived before he spread nightmares over all of Arglohandre. Tonight is a full moon night!
Nermesis casually walked through the dried-up corpses and found her way to the crypt. Wooden shelves are filled with ashes of the monks who used to live and serve here. She glanced at them for a moment, then used her magic to pull down all the "gypsum" jars. The sound fell like a song for the soul, the smoke and dust flew like a foggy mist. Nermesis skillfully manipulated the ashes to gather in one place, creating a pedestal like a mound. She knelt down, and began to pull out a small part of the bag she kept in her. Nermesis placed Rowaque and Uknen's fingers in turn on the "mound", then on Lutes' heart. What's still missing? That was her Nermesis. But Nermesis didn't need to cut off her fingers or any other part of her body. Nermesis plays a more important role this time around. Sacrifice is essential.
Nermesis drew in a long breath. She closed her eyes, thinking about spells, rituals, and deaths. An eerie breeze blew in from below, but it didn't disturb anything in the background. She began to move her lips, pouring out spells. She kept repeating, as she spoke, cutting the blood to drip onto the sacrifices. The ritual gradually responded. The ashes began to move. Slowly, the ashes seemed to have a soul. It suddenly slowly devoured that finger and heart, until it completely disappeared. Her face remained the same. Nermesis took another deep breath, this was the final stage of the ritual. Just by completing it, their mission could be called a success. Nermesis brought the knife to her neck. Sacrifice is essential! Nermesis uttered the last words:

“Nermesis. Uknen. Rowaque. Lutes. Here we die together with the Emperor. Here we live with the Emperor.”
She paused for a moment, then continued:
“Long Live The Emperor!”
Saying that, she cut her throat with a knife. A stream of blood gushed out, gushing out like a waterfall. Nermesis lay down on the ashes, her blood gushing like a dam until there was nothing left to drain. Her body lay sprawled on that pile of dust. The whole catacombs were extremely quiet, not a sound, not even the slightest. Suddenly, that pile of ashes moved. They surrounded Nermesis' body, wrapping around like Xoncenork's tentacles. They aggressively dispersed to fit Nermesis' body length. Slowly, they wrapped around her body, covering her like a blanket. Moments later, Nermesis was left with nothing but a veil of sand, and then completely disappeared. The pile of sand returned to its original shape, back to a harmless pile of dust.
The catacombs returned to their usual silence. There's nothing left. Only broken vases remained. And wandering souls.
It suddenly sounded like the sky was falling. From below the monastery floor rose a lot of dust surrounded. With another 'bang', the whole Eldermond Abbey collapsed. No one knows why. Just know that Eldermond is just a pile of scrap metal, just like Glamgmar Palace on that fateful day!
The moon is still full. The wind comes. Clouds cover the whole sky.

Breakers
My name is Joo In-gong. The name that my parents gave me meant ‘protagonist’ of the world. As anyone can predict, I was constantly teased due to my name. In kindergarten, elementary school, middle school and high school. If I went to university as planned then I would probably be laughed at there as well. So, at one point, I really hated my name. But not anymore. Now, I think slightly differently. Maybe being named Joo In-gong was a type of foreshadowing?
