《The Zodians - Book 1: The Outlander》The Return of Warriors - Chapter 9: The Old Banseer

August 23, Lapunta 1258. One month after the crossing of Xoncenork and three months from the beginning of the departure.
Three o'clock in the morning. Lewish Coast, Flezard.
“Banseer citadel surrounds Glamgmar… what has it become in eight years…?”, lamented Reind.
Under the burning torch, a mournful voice for a thousand-year-old architecture has been associated with the history of generations, suddenly in front of them are only broken pieces of brick and stone, moss-covered ruins. Where else is the long wall of flesh and blood, a historical witness is now like a disabled person. The more Banseer Citadel was damaged, the stronger their hatred grew. They finally returned to their beloved land, but unexpectedly standing miles away from the shore, the smell of mother earth was nowhere to be seen, only a faint scent of mourning and lamentation. The sound of crying somewhere still echoed in the ears, the blood red somewhere was still passionately choking at the corner of the nose. The smell of rotting meat still lingers in the throat. Everyone looked at each other with pitying eyes. This is no longer Flezard's magnificent Glamgmar, it is only the ruins of a memorable golden age.
La Delpostre had reached the shores of Lewish after three months of sailing, all one hundred and sixty-five longing to touch the familiar shore, to hold in the palms of their hands the flavorful sands. After eight years, they were finally returned to their land. But alas, why is it both strange and familiar! They looked at the surrounding scenery, the old beach but the soul had withered. Everywhere they looked, they saw only a sad image. The color of golden sand also cannot spread the sun to the mind of an exiled child. Only lamented the erosion of the scenery, only regretted that they could not destroy the great demon head sooner, leaving him to destroy the world day by day.
La Delpostre suddenly turned the water toward the distant sea and then dived into the sea without saying a word. Jon also urges everyone on for the upcoming battle:
“Its mission is over…”, he said. “But not ours. Lapunta already knows we are marching to Glamgmar.”
“We have to hurry,” Reind insisted. “Everyone, make sure your weapons are in your hands! Today is our fateful battle. Either we fall, or Lapunta dies!"
They all shouted in unison, smashing their swords against their shields repeatedly to build up momentum. Glamgmar red tile still lingers in the distance. Just follow this road, pass the Dangler forest, they will come to Banseer, enter the city of Fahoax where the palace of Glamgmar is solidly built. But in everyone's heart, there is a feeling that Fahoax will no longer be a prosperous place, sometimes only abandoned houses, and a few skeletons that have not yet been buried.
The city of Banseer was abandoned and left unguarded. The city gate was also nothing but a piece of wood the size of a child that was loosely stuck to the stone wall. The whole scene has a desolate and miserable look. Is this still one of the proudest works of Arglohandre, when now only mosses, a pile of rubble, a ramshackle citadel with white corpses lying around. on the road. The army entered Banseer silently as if it were a deserted house whose master could enter and leave with ease. Lapunta… what did he do in the end? An entire town is now just empty houses, or worse, just broken bricks. There was not a single person left, or even an animal that dared to approach. Only the Glamgmar Palace was still visible, but only emitting a strong smell of death. Victoria couldn't help but see a skeleton lying in the corner of the wreckage, with a baby skeleton in her chest. Everyone felt an insatiable indignation. At the same time, from the Glamgmar palace, a plume of black smoke shaped like his face approached them, conveying his sly laughter:

“I wonder when you guys will put your heads in the cages!”
Reind couldn't hold back his indignation at this point. He shouted with a burst of fire:
“What have you done to people like this?”
"Let's ask a better question, Reind?", Lapunta chuckles. “What have you been doing for nearly a hundred years?”
"What do you mean?", surprised Reind. Not only him, but also everyone else was also extremely alarmed.
“One hundred years on that island, so well-hid that I couldn't find you. I'm really curious what these Resistance troops have done!"
“Our eight years are almost a hundred years here?”, Reind seemed to be completely devastated.
“Ninety-six years to be exact, my Reind. The Emperor almost forgot all of you!”
Lapunta laughed. His laughter echoed in all directions, and Reind's people just looked at each other with faces that seemed to have lost their souls. Some even dropped their weapons. The war had not yet taken place, Lapunta had delivered a fatal blow, smashing how much morale they had barely created.
Reind's face was filled with a complicated expression. He still couldn't believe that this land had been around for almost a hundred years. So where is what they once treasured? Is it not lying in the flat ground, with a heart that has been rotting for ages? His hand trembled. Reind couldn't stop his fear. No matter how well prepared they were, this old fox Lapunta was always one step ahead of them!
“Lapunta…”, there was a glint of hatred in his eyes, as though if he appeared in front of him, Reind would not hesitate to use the Mighty Dragon sword piercing his heart, drawing it out and stabbing it again, hundreds, thousands of times, until he had no more blood to bleed. "I swear to you, today will be your last day!"
"Is that so?" he said in a scornful voice. "Then why don't you come here and kill me? I'm afraid you don't leave soon, the army of one hundred and sixty-four people and one child have been crushed by one of my troops."
"If I die, I will drag you to die together!"
"Oh," he looked surprised. “Then I wait for you at Glamgmar. Reind… Domingo!”
He didn't say anything more, just let out a big laugh and then the smoke dispersed into the air. Reind hated to kill him right now, he could only vent his anger by slamming Pyrrosid on the ground. The tremor created a crack more than ten meters long, and nearby houses were further damaged.
"Let's go!" shouted Reind.
Finally, his eyes were fixed on Glamgmar's bright red tile roof, imagining in his mind that it was the blood that Lapunta would have to shed. Only afraid that his cruelty has made his blood lose its red color, but only a black color like his own person.
Victoria looked at him anxiously, and while holding Jon's hand tightly, she asked softly as she walked:

“Jon… you've seen the future, haven't you? How many wins do we have?”
"I can't tell," he replied.
"Why?" she wondered.
“If you say… history will change. We can only do the best we can.”
Victoria mused. That's right, only the best can be done. But is it possible?
Ten o'clock in the morning.
Reind beckoned to stop, stationed his troops in line, lined up in front of the Steel gate of the Lyrrocks surrounding Glamgmar. He knew for sure that behind that stone gate was an army of the undead Lapunta. It would be a mistake to say that Reind wasn't worried at all. Of them, perhaps Reind was the most nervous. Because he couldn't accept if he failed again, and because everyone believed in themselves too much. Hope, in short, is still the scariest thing. He felt his hands tremble, and his legs wanted to be unsteady. But then Jon stepped forward and took his hand, and with a smile, said:
“Father, don't worry. It will be fine."
He looked at him, suddenly all worries and worries were relieved. He patted his head and said softly:
“Will you cover for me?”
“I will always be by your side… until death tears us part!”
Reind smiled, now he no longer felt anxious, but increased his power by ten times. He pulled out his Mighty Dragon. He held the Pyrossid firmly, the other ready to be stained with the blood of the sword. Reind drew in a long, deep breath, as if this was the last time he could do so calmly. When he was completely ready to go on a rampage, Reind raised Pyrossid to the sky, shouting:
“Leila! Thanks to you!”
Leila also did not mind joining the fun early, she replied with a smile:
“Well Reind! Be sure to hold your Pyrossid !"
Saying that, Leila once again let her power run through her body. The sky pulled from nowhere to dense clouds. From above, a sudden torrent of fierce lightning ran down her body, making Leila feel like she was the god of thunder. Leila let out a scream and then directly channeled all of the thunder around her body into Reind's Pyrossid shield. A heavenly sound made everyone both terrified and delighted. All of them crouched down according to their feelings to avoid the lightning from hitting them. Reind was given strength from Leila and felt like he was invincible. Every cell in his body was transformed by Leila's incredible strength. It didn't take long for Reind to absorb all of them, then transform into his power. The Mighty Dragon like being fed to its fullness, and it no longer hesitated to release its power. Reind couldn't wait to free the beast. He unleashed a pillar of thunder five times stronger than Leila's at the Steel Gate. How could such a stone gate be able to withstand such a devastating devastation? Unexpectedly, the entire gate exploded into dust, and dragged along a fragment of the ruined city wall like it.
Finally face to face with Lapunta. As Reind predicted, his army was already waiting. Looking at his army compared to him is actually a heaven and an abyss. An army that knows no pain more than a hundred thousand fights an army of mortals less than two hundred heads. He wonders what kind of fight this will be?
“Impressive performance, Reind!”
His haunting voice still rang in his ears.
"You told me to come to Glamgmar to kill you, and yet hide in there?", Reind sneered.
“Why should I show my face when I have an army to protect me?” he laughed as if it were obvious. “I am not a hero. I am the devil in your dreams. If I were to be destroyed so soon, our story wouldn't be interesting anymore."
Then he paused, then continued:
"Looks like you guys have some new treasures, don't you?"
"It's for you!" Reind spat out a mouthful of saliva, smirking.
“Oh my, so precious! We look forward to it! But first…”, he laughed evilly. "I've got my toys for you!"
It was a signal for his undead army to attack. One hundred thousand, or even more, rushed towards Reind like a hurricane. Lapunta's laughter echoed throughout the world. Reind also got ready, he raised his sword high into the sky, shouting like thunder, igniting the will to fight for his army:
"Everybody…"
At this moment, Jon suddenly grabbed his mother's hand, and his uncle Phalanx, and Dannish Howmen, a member of the Resistance. With a very serious look on his face, he said:
“We have our own mission…”
“Everybody… Rush!”
Reind's voice almost drowned out Lapunta's laughter. The entire morale of the army was expressed through a chorus of shouts. They all moved forward together. An uncompromising direct confrontation, between those who do not die and those who do not fear death!
