《My fighter Man》21

"Man, are you coming?"
"Yeah," I said to Axel watching him walk towards Jasmine his fiancee. I gave a small smile to Jasmine with a small nod.
"I will be back soon, Jasmine needs to go to the store," Axel said looking at me.
"Sure, drive safe." He smiles before holding Jasmine's hand and going away. I stand there watching everyone as they laugh and talk. Celeb is rolling his eyes as his mum is saying something. Some are dancing with their beer bottles while some are watching drunken friends dance.
Our close friends and Vincent's relatives were lounging as tomorrow is the wedding day. Ava is with her mother helping out with some last-minute gifts which they missed out on.
"Brad! Did you want to talk to me? Everything okay?" Vincent asked walking over to me. I know he is nervous about his wedding. He placed his hand on my shoulder as he looked into my eyes worriedly.
"Everything is okay, I just wanted to talk about something important," I say timidly. I'm nervous, I can feel the raise in my heartbeat.
"We can talk in my dad's study room. It is the only room empty," he said turning towards the hallway. I followed him while my heart started beating fast, it's just that I'm scared about his reaction and how would he react to it.
"Where you two going?" Celeb asked stopping us. I took the wine glass he is holding.
"Nothing man, just some work. Will be back," Vincent said.
"Yoah."
I slurped down the wine, placing it on the table I entered the room closing it behind. Vincent patiently waited for me to speak.
"Brad? Is something wrong? You can tell me, man. I'm here for you."
"No-no..." I take a deep breath, it is harder than I thought it would be.
"Vincent, I—I like someone," I said and watched his face full of surprise and happiness.
"That's amazing bro! I'm happy for you. Who is she?" he asked excitedly. I looked at him pulling my lips into my mouth as he waited for the answer.
"It—it's Ava, I promise to take care of her. I'm not joking about my feelings for Ava. I really like her." I spoke in one breath. He blinked his eyes in wild shock. I waited for him to talk.
"Ava?" he asked.
"yes."
"My sister Ava?" he asks with a weary expression.
"Yes, Ava Morris," I spoke holding my hands together. He just looked at me in shock, I waited for him to utter something but all he did was look at me. Minutes passed...

"Woah! That's—that's shocking news... Well, are you informing me or?"
"I'm asking for permission." he paced towards me with a serious face. Taking me by surprise he hugged me when I thought he was going to punch me.
"I'm happy bro, you are a good person and I trust you." I didn't say anything as I'm too shaken to respond.
"But tell me how did this happen? I still can't understand... I mean you two never spoke to each other in the past, I never saw her playing with you. I mean how?" he asked with a smile.
"We actually met two years ago, well long story short we met occasionally and then I shifted to Las Vegas. I couldn't stop thinking about her..."
"I always loved her but never said as she is a child. Now that your parents are planning to set up dates for her. I couldn't sit back." He laughed agreeing on that.
"True but let me tell you my sister can be handy and her rage."
"I can live with her all my life," I said with a smile.
He put his hand on my shoulder "Welcome to family brother!" I smile at him.
"That's the reason why she went to Las Vegas. To be there with you at your match. Now I understand everything," he spoke with an understanding look on his face.
"Yeah, she gave me a surprise," I said.
"Never in my life I thought you both will be dating, I still can't believe if I'm being honest," he said as we both stepped out of the study room.
"What you guys are talking about?" Axel asked, Celeb is with him.
"Ohh, did you both know that Brad MacCarthy is seeing my sister Ava?" Vincent says out loud. Axel's and celeb's eyes widen hearing that.
"Huh?"
"Is it true? Did I hear correctly?" Axel said looking at me.
"Yes, you heard correct. Our Brad is in love with my sister," Vincent spoke while I stayed quiet. They both just stared at me before mischievous smiles took over their faces. Vincent laughed when they started attacking me with their playful hugs and stupid kisses.
"I didn't expect from this motherfucker!" Axel said.
"True!" Celeb agreed while our other friends who were in the living room are watching us with confusion.
"How did this happen? Oh my god from when this is going on?"
"Oh my, did the Ava crushed on you from all these years?" Celeb asked.
"Actually it's me who crushed on her."
"Bastard always stayed quiet that I never thought this would happen," Axel said playfully.

"Eww... I'm going to tease miss Ava. How did she tame our big wolfman?" Celeb asks. I roll my eyes as Vincent and Axel agree on what he said.
"Guys keep it low, I don't want your parents to know yet," I said.
"You think my mum don't know about this? She knew that's the reason she sent Ava to Las Vegas." Vincent said.
"Las Vegas?" Axel asked with confusion.
"We all were busy with wedding work so my little sister went to surprise this man leaving all the work," Vincent said while they started smiling.
"Ohoh... Little Ava and our big man Brad. What a couple they make." Celeb teased while I looked away smiling. I don't want them to tease me.
"Is our big man blushing bro?" Axel teased more wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
"Shut up!" I scanned the room to see Ava. She isn't there for the past one hour. I have been waiting for her.
"Did you guys practised your speech?" Celeb asked.
"I will be reading my letter, I can't do without seeing shit," Axel said.
"Same." Celeb agreed to Axel.
"What about you then?" they both asked me.
"You will see."
"I can't wait to hear what you bastards wrote," Vicente said.
"So next Axel's wedding then Brad's," Celeb said playfully while I rolled my eyes. It's true that I want to marry Ava but I don't know about her thoughts on marriage. I don't want to hurry things between her and me. I want to take things a little bit slow, I want her to build her career strong at the same time I need to think about our future before I take a step forward towards the wedding.
Ava stepped into the room and her eyes scanned the room before they settled on me. She signalled me to come out.
"Look Vincent, our little Ava is calling Brad out," Celeb joked.
"Shut up," I say. I left the boys talking in search of the little lady. She was standing beside the fence texting furiously while her eyebrows knotted in seriousness. Hearing my footsteps she looked at me pushing her phone inside her jean pocket.
"We need to go to the boutique."
"Now?" I asked her.
"Yeah, Valerie's veil torn because of Chase. We need to rush before they close the boutique." she threw the car keys towards me to catch.
I went to their garage where her mother's car is parked. We got in as I accelerated towards the main road. She put the location, I can see how tired she is.
She is the photographer as she doesn't trust anyone with that job. She wants the best pictures possible to give her brother.
"We will have dinner after this," I said.
"Hmm..."
I stayed silent as she rested for a while. It took us thirty minutes, the lady was already waiting for us with the veil.
"Thank you so much." Ava said to the lady as we collected the veil.
"Marriage work is a headache." Ava commented as I smiled. I checked the locations where I can find a nearby restaurant.
"There is a small restaurant, twenty meters from here."
"Let's walk there, we can park our car here." I took her hand in mine as we started walking.
"Tomorrow there will be news of us roaming on roads while Vincent's wedding is tomorrow," Ava said as she saw our pictures being clicked.
"Smile at the camera." I joked looking down at her face.
"Hahaha..."
I opened the door for her as she entered.
"There is another one." she pointed looking at the second door. I chuckled as she waited for me to open with a jaunty smile. I planted a small kiss on her lips taking her by surprise as I opened the door.
"People are watching us," she complained slapping playfully on my arm.
"Let me kiss you deeply then," I remarked watching her cheeks turn red.
"Ugh..." she passed me padding towards the empty table. Keeping her things on the table she waited for me to sit. I sat down, I watched her tie her hair into a messy bun with her fingers.
"Calla called you?" she asks with her beautiful eyes on me.
"Yeah, she wanted to meet us as they started the base construction."
"We will go once the wedding is done."
"I'm craving chocolate cake," she said looking at the menu.
"They have that." I said flipping the paper.
"We need to bandage those knuckles once we go home," she said seeing my knuckles.
"Yeah," I replied
"We need to practise our dance too." I chuckled.
"We will," I said giving our order to the waiter.
"Did you rehearsal your speech?" she asked.
"No and you?"
"I ain't going to."
"Should I go for a hair cut?" she asked. I watched her long hair which suits her and I love her long hair.
"No, don't but regular trim at the ends is okay." She seemed surprised.
"Okay, wanna tag along after the wedding?"
"Sure." I smiled at her getting a full-blown smile in return.

The Simulacrum
"He who fights with harem tropes should see to it that he himself does not become a harem protagonist. And if you gaze for long into a narrative, the narrative gazes also into you." --- Friedrich Nietzsche (probably?) How would you react if one day you woke up inside an environment running on tropes and clichés? For allegedly average high-schooler Leonard Dunning, this question became quite relevant when one day he woke up in a pristine city on a strange island in the middle of the Atlantic, without any memories, surrounded by classmates who are barely more than characterless placeholders, and with a classic indecisive harem protagonist and his impossibly beautiful love interests for friends. That would be hard to deal with already, yet his investigation into the tropes governing the world, trying to avoid harem shenanigans, and his odd blend of outside-context knowledge, unique abilities, and a penchant for causing trouble wherever he goes ends up dragging him into the center of the action anyway. Disclaimer: This is a tongue-in-cheek, slice of life romantic comedy, with occasional sprinkles of combat and mystery to spice things up. Please do not expect a straight up deconstruction beyond some in-universe meta-commentary by the characters.

"This is so wrong ..." Emma breathed out against his lips when he pinned her up against the wall."Is it?" The walk to his bedroom was short, and before she could say anything, she found herself on his bed, him hovering over her. His every touch was inebriating, the way his lips knew exactly where to go in order for her to lose sight of her moral duties, the way his hands skillfully caressed every inch of her skin, as if savoring it in advance, was driving her insane. And when she met his fiery gaze, Emma knew she was doomed. She had no chance but to surrender to this devil that was tempting her, pushing her towards something that - she was well aware - would be difficult to give up on once set in motion.
