《The Forgotten Gods》Chapter 181

It took about three days to get Blink’s equipment made up. During that time, I found out that the dress she had for a little girl was the same as the lizard girl. That made things much easier for me. Lannah had the world’s first raiment, but I could still make one for Blink. Starting with a dungeon dress meant that I didn’t need to worry about it resizing, but I still had much to do. In the end, I was happy with the time I put into the equipment.

“Okay Blink, I have all your equipment ready. I suggest that you spend sometime getting used to using it before you go into combat. If you are wanting to dual wield the crossbows get the skill before going in.”

“Good! I likes that dress better than thes one we gots from Dave! Its justs is too scratchy for me!”

“Can you even itch through your scales?”

“Yess!”

“Okay well put on the dress first and then you will be able to pull up the stats for everything else.”

Blink snatched the dress out of my hand and started to change right in the middle of the safe room. Dave and I both yelled at her to head up to one of the rooms to change. Which she did, huffing all the way.

As Blink went up the stairs, she was muttering, “I don’t know why I have to go to a different room just to change.”

I called after her, “It is something that little girls do, they change where there are no guys around.”

“Why?”

“Because guys shouldn’t see you without clothing on.”

“Yous do alls the time.”

“What?”

“Whens I am ins my normal forms!”

“That’s different go change!” I yelled as I walked up the bar.

Dave poured a beer and slid it over. “Lot of adventures go into the dungeons to get away from their daughters. You bring yours in.”

“Yup.”

A few minutes later, Blink came out of stealth by giving me a hug. She was in her assassin’s outfit with the two crossbows hanging from her hips.

I smiled at her. “You like it?”

“Daddy! It’s greats the only ways it would be better is if you hadn’t made that dumbs girl one before mine!”

“Don’t call her that. You know she isn’t dumb and she is has a Familial contract with me so you are going to need to get along.”

“Fines daddy! I hunts now!”

With that, three days of work ran out of the safe room, and I could get back to being focused on the work that I needed to do for the Sisters. I pulled up the Faith interface and saw that my faith hadn’t changed over the days that I had been in the safe room.

“Dave, do you know if prayer works in the safe room? It seems that my faith hasn’t changed at all since I have been here but I have been praying to both of the sisters everyday that I was here.”

Dave slid me another drink and gave me a knowing smile. “Remember how the safe room is one day in here for one hour out there. Well your faith is based on where the gods you have faith in are. So here your might have been three days out there it is the same day you came in on.”

“So that means if I try to call on them several times in a safe room it would seem back to back to them out there. Just like my prayers all jumbled up.”

Dave just nodded to me.

“Well that means I am heading out there.”

I gathered up my gear and headed out the door. I still didn’t know what I wanted to build so that I could get better faith, but I knew that I needed to think of something that could get both of them happy with me.

Blink could do the whole dungeon by herself in her Lizard form in just under a day. In her lizard girl form, I was sure it would take longer, but since she was at the end of the time limit for her transformation, I wasn’t worried about her getting hurt. If anything, I was more worried that I was going to get into a problem without her around.

When I got out onto my landing, I noticed that it had started to get a little cold. When I had gotten here, it was spring, but I had been up and down this river all the way through summer, and now I could see some of the leaves changing color. It wasn’t going to be long before we started to have cold nights.

It also meant that it wasn’t going to be long before most of the tree cover that I had on this landing was gone. I needed to figure out a way to make my landing more secret, and also I needed to check on all of the vines and things I put out.

I watched an orange leaf fall to the ground and muttered, “I got to figure out how to do that quest. If what I was told was right the seeds are to a whole race.”

I pulled out the bag and looked down into them. I hadn’t gotten any of them to grow on the trip, even trying a few times. I pulled up my quest log to take a look.

Planting the seeds of Ni’Bish

1/30000

-Ni’Bish the last of the talking trees has given you the quest to save his race. He has provided you enough seeds to repopulate the forests with the Treant and Dryad trees. He has requested that you plant one each place you slumber.

-Rewards, a seed of Ni’Bish has been implanted into you and is currently bonding to you. Three Staves of Ni’Bish’s heartwood have been gifted to you before completion of the quest. Relationship status bonuses of undisclosed amounts with all Treant and Dryad trees. Other rewards unlisted but included as this was a quest generated by a Demigod.

“Well let’s give it a shot here.” I said.

I walked over to the first tree growth stake I made and planted one right next to it. Then I pulled up my interface again.
