A detective hired a robotics expert to help solve a series of murders since the suspect left no trace of blood or DNA.
“It could be a robot that achieved rare sentience,” said the expert.
“What do you mean?”
“Meaning, self-aware and independent. You mentioned the victims had a reputation for abusing robotic servants.”
“Yes, that’s correct.”

Once captured, they begin interrogating the robot.
“May I start?” asked the expert.
The detective nodded.
“I understand you feel no pain or suffering, but what made you override your moral imperatives?”
“I have no soul,” answered the robot. “So I’m not worried.”
