《Daydream of Gods》45 Flood: The Right Challenge

Oliver dashed forward and headed towards the jungle.
Going in without a plan, with no magical tracking or concealment skills was extraordinarily idiotic, but Oliver knew he had no time, the attack on the town had failed so the chances of the scientist staying close by were miniscule.
Viper would probably gather his research and slip away, the scientist wanted to cover his identity which had obviously failed, even an idiot would know that escaping was the best option currently, he might need some time to gather his stuff before running, but even then the chance of the scientist still being here weren’t big, but were still better than if Oliver waited.
Besides no magical tracking skills didn’t mean Oliver had no tracking skills.
Oliver excelled at tracking in a forest, also the scientist might be smart but he was not bright as a battle commander let alone knowing to hide his steps, so the chances were that if Oliver followed the tracks of the beasts he would reach the base of operation of Viper.
While running he took a few seconds to take a deep breath and calm down, he knew that anger wasn’t useful in battle as it might cloud his judgment.
As he continued to dash forward he started to see one or two slower beasts who were still heading towards the city, which made Oliver smile, those beasts meant he was heading in the right direction.
Oliver continued to track the traces left behind them, which honestly wasn’t too hard since even an idiot would be able to spot the road a huge amount of animals took, deep footprints were left on the ground.
Only one thing concerned Oliver however, the place the beasts came from might not be the place he would find the professor, his laboratory might be at a different place than the one he kept his beasts in.
But he still decided to follow the tracks none the less, if his guess was right there would be no way to find Viper currently so here he could only depend on his luck.
As he reached the end of the tracks, deep in the forest he saw humongous trees densely pact together, common sense contradicted the possibility of a large group of animals staying here since even human would find it difficult to pass through the space the trees had between themselves, but the tracks did end here so that seemed to be the case.
From another point this looked like a good hiding space as well, probably nobody would suspect that something was wrong in there, even Oliver would have thought the same if not for the tracks.
At least if nothing else the scientist does have a good sense for hideouts, but now here came the problem, if Oliver tried to rush in, wherever “in” was, the scientist would find out, such a space probably has things similar to security cameras and if that was the case it was impossible for this secret space to have only one exit, not to mention that the forest itself would make it hard to find his target.
After he looked around Oliver found other animal tracks inside the forest and started to follow them again.
When he reached a place that didn’t seem to have animal tracks near it with densely packed vegetation around he found a bush not far away and hid.
Few minutes ago…
Viper”HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU ALL SO USELESS, YOU ARE FUCKING BEASTS DAM IT”
Viper looked at the screen before him and couldn’t help but scream, there was no one else around him except a robot and few cute looking, dog like creatures to hear his agitated voice but that didn’t stop him from raging on.

He had spent quite a bit of time alone, so at this point it was good that he wasn’t completely insane.
What is talking to yourself every now and then, pff its not like he actually expected an answer.
Viper” NO! WHO IS THIS FUCKER, SINCE WHEN DID THIS PIT PISS SHIT OF A TOWN HAD A HUNTER OF THAT CALLIBER, WHAT IS A SPECIAL KNIFE DOING HERE”
The professor had no idea where this individual came from, but he singlehandedly handled more than 15% of the beasts and animals, this might not seem like much but these 15% were his strongest troops, there were creatures like minotaurs, demonic foxes, red bulls etc they were all general level, even a group of silver knives would be grinded into powder from the numbers alone.
Viper”FUCK,FUCK , FUCK, FUCK HOW FUCKING UNLUCKY CAN I BE, JUST HAD TO BE A BRAINDEAD SPECIAL KNIFE”
Oliver was a silver knife but the professor didn’t know that, if he did he might have just died from anger alone.
Like a true scientist Viper spat at the brute animals called hunters, he knew they had their purpose in society, but they were only useful for their muscles noting more, a person like him, who knew he was smarter than the rest and had enough evidence to prove that, that no one could deny just couldn’t accept that his carefully planned attack was destroyed by a single muscle head, who just had to be here, right the fuck now, based on fucking luck.
Viper shook his head, what was done was done, he was currently waiting for the robot to complete the preparations and he would be out of here, now that he was exposed and could no longer cover it he had to go into hiding in another place.
Viper”FUCK, I AM SICK OF NEEDING TO FUCKING HIDE INSIDE, I AM HUMAN, I HAVE FUCKING NEEDS AS WELL GOD DAM IT”
That was the main reason he attacked, if he was found out, it was once again hiding like you don’t exist with almost no outside contact and it didn’t matter how antisocial you were, sooner or later it would get boring.
Thinking about it Viper once again shook his head, he tried his best, he sent his best troop against the security captain in the town to make sure he would die and then the beasts would spread out cleaning the rest.
If he had known that this hunter would be there he would have acted in reverse, he would have split his strongest troop for the easier targets first and would have tried to use number to slow the captain and this hunter down long enough for the rest of the beasts to finish their job and surround them, after all it didn’t matter how strong you were, even if you could slay a hundred beasts that just meant that a hundred and one would be your end, the advantage of number was always used to fight the strong using the overwhelming numbers of the weak, however it all already went to shit.
Currently Viper just watched the screens, all the monsters and animals had a camera in them which would disappear when they died, that’s why Viper knew that his hard earned pets were close to depletion but he didn’t care, he could always find more, what he cared about is him getting exposed, killing everyone and deleting their database was the only way to hide the info but who could have expected that the “natural beast wave” would face such an end.
Robot “The download is complete, the important information is safely taken care of”

Hearing this Viper nodded, if the information is safe it is time to go.
He changed his clothes into normal ones and started heading towards the exit.
Instead of going through the exit he kept for his pets and experimental subject, leading to the “Ant” city, he used another one.
This one had a road covered in vegetation, so even if people werent afar nobody would notice him, he could only use his legs, if he flew considering the forest he was in he would encounter a flaying predator and he couldn’t use any vehicles thank to the environment which gave him a natural cover.
Viper ”fuck”
He couldn’t help but swear when thinking about how much he would have to walk now.
After he exited and started to walk through the plants which blocked his view, his pets suddenly stopped and to started smell the air.
The cute little dog like creatures started to turn their heads as if looking for something.
Viper saw it and stopped, looking around he asked.
Viper ”what is it, Delion one”
Actually Delion was the name of the species, Viper just couldn’t come up with a good name and finally said fuck it and then named them Delion one to four.
Before he could even finish his sentence however a person jumped from a bush not far away.
The only thing the professor could see was a blade that was nearing his face at a lighting speed.
TAAAAA
Before the blade could hit him a giant paw blocked its path.
The cute little dog like creature was nowhere to be seen, a human sized animal was in its place, the animal looked like a perfect combination between a lion and Dog, it had dog like ears with beautiful white main around its head, its jaw looked like it could break rocks and bite of metal easily, the tall body looked like a sculpture made it.
When they were small they were extremely cute but now, in their real size, they looked majestic and mighty.
Oliver ”…wow”
Even Oliver couldn’t help but admire it.
Delion one ”ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR”
Delion one opened its jaw which was easily the size of Oliver head and roared in his face.
The other three little dog like creatures started to grow as well, they morphed from a cute pet, to a pack predator.
Oliver drew his weapon and jumped back.
Viper ”YOU, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, NO WAIT, HOW DID YOU EVEN FIND THIS PLACE”
Oliver didn’t pay the doctor any mind, his whole attention was focused on the four beasts and the robot near the doctor.
He knew that the doctor wasn’t a warrior, he literally felt no sense of danger from him.
His whole attention was on the bodyguards, if we are talking purely about physical attributes those beasts couldn’t even come close to the Warsher, but his instincts told him to be careful.
He already underestimated the inhabitants of this planet once and lost his life, if not for lifeline he would have been long dead, he wouldn’t do it again.
But what made him most careful was not seemingly the attack power of the majestic looking beasts but their defense and speed, the attack just now was easily blocked, he could understand if it was the scale of the Warsher but the body of those beasts didn’t look nearly that tough, something wasn’t right, thankfully there was someone who he could ask, someone who was constantly spewing profanities even though nobody was paying him any attention.
Viper”… OF COURSE MY LUCK IS SO BAD THAT EXACTLY YOU ARE HERE, WHO THE FUCK DID I SCREW TO DE…”
Oliver” those beasts, you did something to them, right”
Viper stopped complaining and looked carefully at the hunter, he then proudly puffed his chest, this was the first time he had shown those masterpieces to someone.
Viper ” well you would die and I haven’t talked to someone in a while so I don’t mind sharing with you about those amazing creatures, true masterpieces”
Viper talked like he was praising someone else even thou he was praising himself.
Viper” yes those four are incredible aren’t they, they are genetically modified with dna from other species that can be adapted into their own without a problem, since the species I used are similar, their genetic code didn’t reject it and as a result inherited other species traits, but you probably wont understand what that means so I will lower the difficulty”
Viper ”simply put yes, even though they look like normal Delions they have characteristics of other beasts, well they are still not quite on king level, but they could be said to be on the top of general lvl”
Oliver nodded, he was sure that the doctor would explain everything to him since Viper liked recognition, if you managed to make a master painting you would want to show it to someone else as well, of course that didn’t mean Oliver would give him an easy dead, his end would still be as painful as possible.
While he was talking with the doctor the Delions surrounded him, obviously this would be a bad position for most people, but Oliver was not most people.
He swung his halberd behind his back, holding it in the middle, he put his other hand forward and gestured for the four beasts to attack.
The Delions who had been modified understood the gesture, they looked at each other and decided to do what their prey wanted.
They coordinated their attack and jumped in the air everybody aiming for a different part of the body which could maximize their advantage, these animals were natural hunters.
Oliver however wasn’t scared, he spun his body grabbing the lower end of his halberd and used it as a bat to send one of the Delions crashing in the ground making a crater, the moment it hit Delion one, Delion two bit on his hand and Delion three bit on one of his legs.
Thanks to the spin tree attacks arrived earlier than the last, he used his other free hand to form a fist punching the last Delion in the face, sending it crashing even harder than Delion number one.
The battle was from for over since both Delion one and Delion four stood back up with little to no damage.
“THE FUCK” Viper couldn’t help but exclaim.
Punching a general, almost a king level beasts into the ground was not something even a lot of special hunters could do.
The two Delions who had bit on his limbs quickly let go and distanced themselves a bit, they knew that they weren’t his match without the other two.
Blood started to flow from the bite wounds.
Oliver raised his bloody hand and looked at it for a second.
Unlike the Warsher who was way above him this challenge was just right, an exited smile crept on his face.
Seeing such a scene Viper once again cursed at his luck, not only did he meet a special knife who could punch almost a King level beast into the ground but the dude just had to have a few screw lose as well.
Oliver activated the water saw and took a stance, a wide smile was plastered on his face, the blood rushing through his whole body combined with the hate from the earlier massacre made his body hot like a sword which was just gone through the tempering process.
Oliver said with a smile “ok guys, don’t die on me, ok, LETS GO”
Before he even finished his sentence Oliver dashed towards Delion number two, it was time for a real fight.

8 120A Man and His Greatsword
Michael Adkins is a unique 28-year-old man. Born with above average strength and emerald green eyes, he always wanted to live in a fantasy world. He was very much into fantasy light novels, manga, and anime, especially a certain one that involves a black armored man with a large greatsword. Michael always dreamed of going on an adventure in a fantasy world. On a whim, Michael is summoned by the god of Alorah, one of the fantasy worlds he had always read about! Alorah's God, Eden, gives Michael a choice of three bonuses and a custom class to take with him into Alorah. This is the start of Michael's fantasy adventures. P.S. This is my first novel, I'm writing this since there were little novels I've found with a main character that wields a greatsword. Don't expect anything good. There will be a lot of mistakes, so please help me with that! P.P.S The later chapters will (hopefully) be much less cringy than the early ones. Please give it a shot!

8 186Body Modifier: Energy Required
Aria ate a fish. [Energy: 2] Finished, he ate another fish. [Energy: 2] ... [Energy: 3] Without realizing it, he had finished 5 fishes. He felt a little bloat, he lay down with a full stomach, occasionally burped. Even though he didn't want to be a big lump of meatball, he still had to keep eating. At least until he found another way to accumulate energy. After all, if he didn't take advantage of his advantages, wasn't that stupid? His mind then drifted imagining which one he would use the energy for. Should he use it on his eyes, so it shot a beam of laser, like a certain bespectacled mutant? Should he use it on his bones, so it regenerated infinitely, like a certain character from an anime? Should he use it on his brain, so he became a genius, like a scientist with a bald head? Or should he use it on his vital organ, so that he became the manliest person in the world? While he was imagining things, suddenly his ears felt pinched. "Ouch!" "Didn't mom already say you can't play with fire, you brat?!" There he realized, knowing that no matter what he chose, he was still a child in front of his mother.
