A man in a suit and tie walked in and said to Leng Yan, “Young master, the company is a mess. All the shareholders want to pull out and all the partners want out of their contracts. A lot of executives are recruiting for new jobs now.”

Zhou Xin said, “Young master, why don’t we put makeup on you again? We can do a video conference.”

Yu Mo shook his head, “The last few months, there’s only been video conferences. Unless the young master shows up personally, it won’t be enough to fool the smart ones.”

Jun Yexuan suddenly said, “Straighten up your body.”

“No wonder the CEO hasn’t shown up for a few months. So he’s terminally ill.”

“What if that’s fake news? Didn’t the CEO say he was out of the country? He looked well back then and didn’t seem like he was sick.”

“The lady of the family leaked the news. How could it be fake?”

“Plus, it’s been so long since our last video conference. He claimed to be abroad then, who knows where he is now.”

“Yeah, I know that it’s been his special assistants who’ve been taking care of business. They never breathed a word about where the CEO is. Why would they do that if he isn’t sick?”

“Sigh, the gods hate geniuses! The CEO is young and successful and he’s done such a great job with the company. Who knew…” The person that spoke sighed.

“Let’s just all leave. The CEO is terminally ill. It’s going to be Leng Jie who takes over. All that guy does is party. Look at what Ma Xiaoyun wrote. Her words clearly express how happy she is.”

“That guy is going to drive this company to the ground. Though the CEO has been nice to us in the past, we all have families and we need to think on their behalf.”

“A lot of our projects are ending. I think the bosses are all trying to pull out of their contracts. The company is losing clients and with Leng Jie taking over, it’ll go bankrupt in a week.”

Just as everyone gossiped and chit-chatted, the door to the conference room opened.

Everyone frowned at the visitor.

After Ma Xiaoyun opened the door, she led Leng Jie, whose head was wrapped in bandages, into the room and sat down.

“Everyone, please settle down.” Ma Xiaoyun intertwined her fingers and put her arms on the table in a power pose.

“Leng Yan is terminally ill. This makes me, her mother, feel awful. However, that is a fact that’s not changing. We cannot let the company go another day without proper leadership. So, with Leng Yan’s agreement, we are going to let his brother, Leng Jie, take over.”

Her words made everyone gasp.

Just then, the door to the conference opened again, “How come I didn’t know I was terminally ill and agreed to let that good-for-nothing take over?”

Everyone looked over when they heard the voice. When they saw Leng Yan show up in his bright black suit, their eyes brightened

“CEO!”

“CEO Leng!”

“CEO!”

Leng Yan gestured for everyone to stop cheering and quiet down. He then walked up to Ma Xiaoyun and Leng Jie, who were both astonished.
