《Fantastical Stapler》Chapter 3: New Arrivals

Today was the first normal day that Sincan had in the office. He wanted to enjoy it for now because he knew it wouldn't last.
Moris: "Hey Sincan, We'll be getting another guy today so get ready."
Sincan: "New arrivals?"
Moris: "No ,old guys. Holidays are over so they'll all be back in the office in a few days."
Sincan: "Is that why you hired me? Because you were low on employees?"
Moris: "Yeah an old employee left so we put up a job listing for someone new, you just happened to arrive just on time."
Sincan*: "Good to know, i guess."
The doors of the office open as a man with a toolkit enters it. The man is a thin Derlin with dark brown fur. He seems to be wearing normal everyday clothes accessorized with a steel watch. Firil jumps up in excitement after seeing the man.
Firil: "Jake ! You're finally back! Oh you don't know how many things have broken here without you!"
Jake: "You know you could have just called me if there was any trouble. And hello there Moris."
Moris: "Nice to see you again man. It was getting boring around here."
Sincan*: "And i would've liked it to stay that way."
Jake eyes Sincan up and down and gives him a greeting as well.
Jake: "They may seem weird but they're honest workers at least."
Sincan: "I can see that."
Jake: "Alright I'm gonna start a check of the entire office to see if the appliances are running as intended."
Sincan: "A wheel engineer?"
Jake: "And one of the best damn ones around."
Sincan*: "Well I hope the next couple of people are more useful to me than this guy."

Jake notices a glimpse of how Sincan actually feels and sighs at it.
Jake*: "Great, shit seems to creep up wherever i go."
With that, Jake begins his check of the entire office throughout the day, Sincan is sent away to go pick up some items for the office. On his way home he ponders what kind of people the other workers will be. On his way back, he encounters Cervo.
Cervo: "Oi, not causing trouble again are you?"
Sincan: "It wasn't even my pet!"
Cervo: "And you didn't alert anyone why?"
Sincan: "....cause i thought i had it handled.."
Cervo: "Which you clearly did not. Look, if you're gonna keep causing trouble at least learn some self defense or something."
The idea seemed somewhat appealing to Sincan. He was never good enough with wheels to use them properly, so maybe some classes would help him after all. He wrote down the idea, said farewell to Cervo and left for the office.
After reaching the office and getting back to his work for a while, the lights suddenly went out. The employees gathered together to figure it out.
Jake: "I can't see at all. Hey new guy, help me get to the breaker room?"
Sincan*: "Can't have a single moment of rest now can i?"
They make their way over to the breaker room where jake closes the doors behind them. Sincan decides to back away and get into a fighting pose.
Jake: "Really, thought you could fool me huh?"
Sincan: "What are you doing?"
Jake: "Weeding out a rat. See the policies around here are very...loose considering the company is having some problems."
Sincan: "And?"
Jake: "I'm sure they won't mind if i beat up an asshole around here."

Sincan: "I haven't done shit to you!"
Jake: "Yeah but funny thing, i can read emotions meaning i can tell what kind of person you are from the get go. You're the type that puts on a friendly face and then uses other people until he abandons them."
Sincan*: "shitshitshit"
Jake: "Now i can't prove that to other people but I can beat you up enough so that you'll leave. The people here are too good for trash like you."
Sincan: "That's completely unfair!"
Jake: "If other people are unfair to me, don't i get to be a little unfair from time to time?"
Jake lunged at Sincan with his fist raised. Sincan blocks it to the side and pushes him away. A quick small stream of water hits sincan in the face, filling his nose and ears, disorienting him. He use his tail to trip up Jake but fails when it gets turned around on him and makes him fall.
Sincan tries his last resort and proceeds to kick Jake in the chin which makes him bite his tongue and fall on the ground.
Sincan: "I may be an asshole, but I'm not gonna give up just cause i was told to!"
Jake: "You stubborn idiot!"
Before they can go at it again, The door unlocks and Firil and Moris step in. Noticing the scene, they ask what happened worriedly.
Jake: "There was a Ganver(Monster/Animal) in here and we had to fight it."
Firil: "Where is it?"
Sincan: "Used trick magic and escaped."
Moris: "Damn we got to get an exterminator for this place."
Sincan & Jake: "Yeah.."
Jake: "The power outage was caused by a bad cable, let me fix it right now."
Jake took out a weird machine with special ink in it and painted over a black line on the wall.
Jake: "See, the connector was broken. Just needed to add a bit of ink and bewl can flow through it again."
Firil: "Well that's good. Let's get you guys some medical help."
Jake and Sincan shoot a look of understanding to each other. Sincan doesn't abuse the workers, Jake won't abuse him.
After getting patched up they check out of the office. While walking home Sincan notices a poster for "Dolimity Martial Arts" and decided to check where they are on his day off.

For to stop is to die, and to die means he failed, failed himself and all those who still desperately need him.***The Author's Note:This is another in the Core series, the first one being The Wardens of Destiny while there is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.The Recordings of Raan occurs after the events in The Wardens of Destiny, and it's a separate thread from the main story. Among other things, I separated it into a new book as it has elements of progressive LitRPG and a fantasy-world setting.Since I'll keep on writing The Wardens of Destiny, this will be one of my side-projects. Eventually in the future, I plan to integrate some of the protagonists in this story with the main storyline.

While casually studying for his upcoming university exam, Aven suddenly felt the world around him start warping. It started with flashes of light appearing from nowhere, quickly escalating into his whole world becoming an absolute mess of flickering pixels and chaotic color flows, as if reality had become a malfunctioning glitched screen. What he could recognize as numbers, letters, and strange symbols flew everywhere around him, obviously trying to form a coherent whole to be displayed before his eyes, but such attempts kept failing, again and again. Before he could even start thinking about how both mesmerizing and absurd this spectacle was, however, it all stopped, as suddenly as it had begun. Accompanying the end of this unique show, 2 things happened. First, knowledge had spontaneously appeared in his mind and he could perfectly understand it, as if it had always been there, just inaccessible. Second, a weird simultaneously hot and cold energy had made its apparition inside his body completely unannounced. Aven had just simply and purely awakened his innate ability and the energy potential of his cells, joining the world of the supers, a minority that had always controlled and protected the world since ancient times, by becoming one of them. *** Do you have a sci-fi itch to scratch? Maybe that story can help~ It’s not a comic story that doesn’t take itself seriously. It’s also not a grimdark story, going to the depth of making sure the environment is the worst one ever. It’s just a serious story, a rational one, one you can comfortably dive into, written by a guy who already got some writing experience by having seriously written more than 2 000 pages of another serious story prior to starting this one. Enjoy *** Update: 3 chapters every week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Chapters: Around 3 000 words each.
