《Marauding Gods (First Draft)》Chapter 87: Epilogue Book two

It happened ages ago.
During the war of dragons, in which humanity has almost gone extinct.
Eight gigantic dragons with different shapes and sizes were facing a black and red two-headed dragon.
At first glance, one could clearly tell that the two-headed dragons had the upper hand.
That dragon’s name was Rana, the Ones who were born.
Their entire bodies, their existence itself, were completely submerged by the corruption of inconsumable rage.
The first victim of their rage was the only dragon they could’ve considered their equal: Rena, the One who was made, the First Dragon, and Protector of Humanity.
At their hands, Rena died. Her death having satiated their rage, they proceeded to wipe out humanity, which they considered a plague on this world. Day and night, they engulfed, burned, and cremated every single human they caught sight of. Billions of humans died, and yet it was not enough to satiate their anger; it was too few, not enough, never enough.
But then it happened. From the remains of Rena rose eight dragons, one for each of the four primordial elements, and along with them, each of them was weaker than Rena, yet within them they possessed something that she, the first dragon, didn’t possess: mana.
With this new power acquired, the eight fought the corrupted dragon, for days, months even. They fought to split the continent in two with the sheer violence of their confrontation.
Once again, despite their newly acquired power, the eight dragons didn’t manage to overpower the evil dragon, and yet they couldn’t abandon the fight.
As such, in their last desperate attempt to slay the evil dragon, Amira sacrificed her beautiful wings to stop an attack from the evil dragon, which by shielding allowed her and her brothers to launch their final joint attack, which would put the corrupted dragon down.

That day, the world was freed from Rana’s tyranny. At least, that is what everyone wanted to believe. From where the evil dragon was slain, an immense forest emerged, a great forest later named after them. Iharana: The Tumb of Rana, the Ones who were born.
After the battle, each of the dragons parted, to spot across the immense world that is Tany, their earth. Only one of the eight dragons remained in the Iharana Great Forest, for she believed that without surveillance, the evil dragon would rise once again as they did from Rena. That dragon was the Fire Primordial Dragon Amira, who sacrificed her wings to allow her brother to slay the Rana.
Now known as Amira, the wingless dragon, she patiently guards and waits in the Iharana great forest for something that might or might not happen.
For millennials, Rena, the first dragon, was a benevolent creature, especially toward humanity. She protected the weak creatures that are humans, but the eight dragons, despite being born from her, thought that humans who were on the brink of collapse weren’t worth protecting.
Magic was born in this world.
The eight dragons chose to remain away from humanity.
As the centuries passed, more and more creatures awakened the power known as magic, and humanity, though late in comparison to dragons and other monsters, did as well.
But that was none of the dragons' concerns, at least not until one day, when a man came to visit the dragons one by one.
That person was the one known by humanity nowadays as Solomon, the loner, but by the time he was hated, loathed even by his peers for the heresy he had committed against humanity, with only his red sword, his old shield, his mastery of aina and his magic, he challenged the Primordial Dragon of light.

And, of course, he was defeated by the Primordial Dragon, but instead of killing him, perhaps because of how brave or pitiful he was, the dragon took a liking to him and asked why he came to challenge him. Having heard his answer, the dragon came to respect the man and offered him two gifts: the location of his brothers and sisters, and a blessing of the element he ruled over: light.
Alone, throughout the centuries, Solomon roamed through Tany in search of the other dragon, and from each of them, he received the same gift as from the light dragons from the other dragon.
He, despite being hated by his own people and even by those he was not even sure if they were worth being called friends, was respected by one of the strongest beings in this world.
Having obtained from the last dragon: Amira, her blessing, Solomon could finally realize his dream, and yet when he tried, he realized that all he had done was for naught, that all this time wasted was futile.
But he didn’t give up. Years went by, and then one day, he finally realized a way to make his dream a reality, but for that, he had to give up his life.
As long as he succeeded in his mission, the loss of his life would be a small price to pay.
That day, after having lived for 327 years and roamed through the world for 186 in search of a way of realizing his dream and keeping a promise he had kept, he finally won.
It was a victory he had to pay with his life, but to him, what he accomplished was the magnum opus of his centuries of existence.
He only had one regret, "If only I could have just an instant, just a moment to appreciate the truest beauty of that sight."
Yet that only one regret was enough to keep him tied to these lands of the living as a powerful and undefeated remnant.
So he waited, even as a remnant. He waited patiently for the right one to free him from his torment, for the one who would free him and allow him to grant him his last wish.

Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.

The Czarina's Buccaneer
RELEASES EVERY MONDAY AT 18:30 CST ----- After suffering the torments of slavery, the destruction of his nation, and the massacre of his band of brothers, Rodion Kazansky craves revenge and yearns for the freedom owed to him as a proud Cossack. A lost horse and a chance meeting with the Catherine the Great set him off on a journey that will take him from the steppes of the Crimea to the beaches of the Gold Coast of Africa and back again. There he will face British slavers, pirates, and the ghosts of his past to become the bane of his enemies as the Czarina's Buccaneer. ----- DISCLAIMER: This novel acknowledges the fact that the Cossacks, and the Ukrainian people by extension, are unique and not simply a "different variety of Russians." The main character views the Russians as "moskal foreigners" and does not see himself as one. This also acknowledges the fact that the czarina deprived many of the Cossacks of their freedom, something that the main character resents.
