Chapter 398: 398
Chapter 398: Heretical Alchemists
When Chen Chen arrived at the main peak and saw the white-haired and youthful Perfected Yu Ding, he was slightly stunned.
He had to admit that Perfected Yu Ding was quite handsome, especially since his face was no different from that of a young man in his twenties.
Unfortunately, when paired with his white hair, he seemed a little out of place.
When Perfected Yu Ding saw Fairy Wu Nian’s essence soul, his brows were tightly furrowed, and there was a faint flash of fire in his eyes. After a long while, he suddenly grabbed the seat handle beside him.
Bang!
With a crisp sound, the handle of the chair was actually smashed into ashes on the spot.
“Qing Mu, who did this? Tell me clearly. It’s impossible for people of our Jade Tripod Alchemy Sect to be bullied for no reason!”
When Qing Mu heard this, he recounted everything that had happened in the past, including the Crimson Fiend sect and the Linglong Divine Gold.
After explaining the details, Qing Mu asked softly, “Sect Master… the son of the Second Demon Venerable was killed by us. Will there be trouble?”
“There will be trouble but you guys did a good job. The Second Demon Venerable of the Crimson Fiend Sect? What kind of thing dares to touch my people? He’s really courting death!”
Bang!
After Perfected Yu Ding said that, he clapped his hands again, and the armrest on the other side of the chair also turned into dust.
When Chen Chen saw this, the corner of his eyes slightly twitched. Although Perfected Yu Ding was called Daoist Master, he didn’t seem to have a good temper.
“Grandmaster, my master…”
“Your master had no other choice but to use the Spirit-Nurturing Lotus or a higher-level treasure. I will pay attention to this matter. Don’t worry, your master will definitely not die. At most, I will think of other ways to extend his life.”
Perfected Yu Ding glanced at the essence soul of Fairy Wu Nian and spoke very quickly. He looked as if he would be able to save Fairy Wu Nian as long as he was willing to pay the price.
After receiving the sect master’s guarantee, Qing Mu’s expression immediately eased up a lot.
At this time, Perfected Yu Ding looked at Chen Chen and said indifferently, “Chen Chen, I heard that you have Omni Divine Gold?”
Hearing this, Qing Mu’s heart, which had just been relieved, suddenly tensed up again.
The value of Omni Divine Gold was no less than the Linglong Divine Gold. If the sect master had any devious thoughts, he did not dare to imagine the consequences.

Chen Chen helplessly took out the Omni Divine Gold and said with a smile, “I do have the Omni Divine Gold.”
“Lend it to me.” Perfected Yu Ding extended his hand and said straightforwardly.
Chen Chen touched his nose and catalyzed the Omni Divine Gold to deliver it to Perfected Yu Ding.
Perfected Yu Ding took it and looked at it. He immediately frowned.
“It was corroded by the filth?”
“Yes, it was done by a True Spirit descendant.”
“What a pity, but you are still young. Don’t worry, your treasure has great potential. In the future, if you find other good materials, you can refine it again.”.
“But I suggest you learn how to refine it yourself. It’s hard to let others refine such a treasure.”.
“Of course, if you don’t have any psychological burden, you can catch two master refiners. I’ll give you some poison pills that you can feed to them first, then one person will be responsible for refining and the other person will be responsible for supervising. It should be safe that way.”
Perfected Yu Ding stroked the Omni Divine Blade and said seriously.
Hearing this, Chen Chen’s face turned black… although Perfected Yu Ding looked quite handsome and refined, he didn’t seem to be a fastidious person. Just based on what he said just now, it didn’t sound humane at all.
Not only did he want to capture two artifact masters, but he also wanted to capture two of them. His thought process was too meticulous.
This person did harbor some designs on Yu Qiong, but on the surface, Yu Qiong still had to put on airs and have some shame. However, Perfected Yu Ding was straightforward and didn’t have any scruples.
“Sect Master… you must be joking.” Chen Chen smiled honestly.
“I’m not joking with you. I’m serious. Alright, I’ve seen the Omni Divine Gold. Since it is, then forget it. Take it.”
Immortal Yu Ding waved his hand, and the Omni divine sword returned to Chen Chen’s hand.
Chen Chen was speechless. Just now, he was already mentally prepared to lose the Omni divine sword. He didn’t expect that this immortal Yu Ding really only borrowed it to have a look.
“Next, let’s talk about Red Fiend…”
Perfected Yu Ding stopped abruptly at this point and his expression became a bit strange.
Then, he said to Chen Chen and Qing Mu, “Forget it, come with me.”
After that, he didn’t care whether Chen Chen and Qing Mu agreed or not. He flicked his sleeve and flew away from the main peak with the two of them.

After a moment, the three of them arrived at the mountain gate.
When the disciples guarding the mountain gate saw the arrival of the sect master, all of them bowed to him.
However, at this moment, a streak of light flew over from afar. Soon after, a tall cultivator in a black robe with a ferocious look appeared in front of the mountain gate of the Jade Tripod Alchemy Sect.
This cultivator had the cultivation level of the Void Refinement realm. As soon as he appeared, he roared, “People of the Jade Tripod Alchemy Sect, listen up! I want to see your sect master!”
“I am the sect master. What’s the matter?” Perfected Yu Ding said with a smile.
When he learned that the cultivator with white hair and a youthful face was Perfected Yu Ding, the ferocious cultivator from the Crimson Fiend sect was shocked.
However, when he remembered the Crimson Fiend sect behind him, his courage grew stronger. He coughed lightly and took out a shadow stone, he said coldly, “Sect master of the Jade Tripod Alchemy Sect, I am here on behalf of the Crimson Fiend sect. The cultivators from your sect killed the son of our Second Demon Venerable. You have one day to hand over the two murderers and compensate us with 20,000 supreme-grade Spirit Stones. Otherwise, if the cultivators of my Crimson Fiend sect descend, your Jade Tripod Alchemy Sect will not leave even a chicken or a dog alive!”
Perfected Yu Ding glanced at the Shadow Stone, then moved aside, revealing Chen Chen and Qing Mu who were behind him.
“It’s them! I didn’t expect you to be so tactful and have already made preparations.”
When the cultivator of the Crimson Fiend sect saw Chen Chen and Qing Mu, his eyes suddenly lit up, and he raised his finger and said loudly.
“Keke…”
Perfected Yu Ding suddenly laughed weirdly. His voice was like an owl, making people shudder.
Let alone the cultivator from the Crimson Fiend sect, even Chen Chen couldn’t help but shrink his body.
It had to be said that Perfected Yu Ding’s laughter and his handsome appearance were too out of place.
“You… What are you laughing at? I’m the eighteenth disciple under the Great Demon Venerabl of the Crimson Fiend Sect!”
The cultivator of the Crimson Fiend sect shuddered, and his voice trembled slightly.
Perfected Yu Ding said in a strange voice, “I just failed to break through, and I couldn’t calm down. In the end, you came to my door. Don’t you think it’s a coincidence?”
“I… I!”
The cultivator of the Crimson Fiend sect was scared out of his wits when he heard that.
He came here to give an ultimatum, and the sect master of the Jade Tripod Alchemy Sect actually wanted to attack him. How could there be such a sect master?
As the saying goes, if two armies were to fight, they wouldn’t kill the envoy. Moreover, the one standing behind him was the most powerful sect within a radius of hundreds of thousands of miles, the Crimson Fiend sect!
Was the Jade Tripod Alchemy Sect really not afraid of inviting a catastrophe!?!
“Senior… Let’s talk it out. If you want to start a war with our Crimson Fiend sect, I can also help you relay a message, don’t you think so?”
The cultivator from the Crimson Fiend sect suddenly became less ferocious, and instead became harmless.
Perfected Yu Ding didn’t say anything. His eyes only flickered for a moment, and the cultivator from the Crimson Fiend sect couldn’t move at all. He was rooted to the ground, and only his eyes kept spinning.
There was fear in his eyes, as well as a plea for mercy.
Perfected Yu Ding didn’t look at him. Instead, he calmly took out a huge pitch-black pill refining furnace and muttered, “A medicinal pill I researched a while ago just happened to lack the same medicinal essence. I think you are quite suitable.”
As soon as he said this, the eyes of the cultivator from the Crimson Fiend sect started to roll rapidly. It was obvious that he was quite frightened.
Even Chen Chen and Qing Mu felt a sense of horror.
Then, they saw Perfected Yu Ding clap his hands at the cultivator from the Crimson Fiend sect. In an instant, the essence soul and the body of the cultivator from the Crimson Fiend sect separated.
“This is… a diabolic cultivation technique!”
Chen Chen was secretly shocked.
He had thought that Perfected Yu Ding was just an ordinary shameless villain, but now it seemed that he was wrong.
This seemingly handsome and extraordinary Perfected Yu Ding was actually an evil alchemist…
Before he could recover from his shock, the essence soul and body of the cultivator from the Crimson Fiend sect were sent into the pill furnace one after another.
In addition, Perfected Yu Ding had also added a lot of treasures into the furnace. Judging from his serious look, it seemed that he really wanted to refine pills.
Furthermore, he did not have the slightest intention of hiding it. He began to refine pills right in front of the mountain gate of the Jade Tripod Alchemy Sect.

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Cover art by me! [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

"I'm Screwed" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This story uses the system derived by Puddles4263 in Randidly Ghosthound. I've incorporates the Path's system into the leveling of this story. Some of the beginning paths will be similar or the same as I thought that the starting paths were very logical on how a system should start. The stories will be completely different as the characters and story arcs will be completely different. Again, thank you Puddles for allowing me to use your system, really appreciate it! I also wanted to thank ProFound Magician. Has a lot of insight into a story development and as his system is based on Ghosthound, I saw a some beginning stage skills that should be thought of in a character just starting out. If you haven't yet read Ghosthound or Genesis System you're in for a real treat when you do! Thank you both I hope my use is seen as an homage in the beginning. Hopefully my story can live up to the system.
