Chapter 738
Chapter 738: Revisiting The Beast Tamer Sect
However, Lin Jin could also understand why Xuan Xuanzi's shadow had hugged the immortal emperor's head and left. Perhaps in her heart, she still loved Li Jian despite his betrayal.
Lin Jin was in no position to comment on their relationship or get involved. All in all, according to Shu Xiaolou, this was the end of things. She could now learn of the location of Xuan Xuanzi's shadow at will, and the latter had now gone to a secluded place inside this realm with the immortal emperor's head.
That place had been Xuan Xuanzi's dojo, and also the place where Li Jian sought immortality, and where she taught him.
Perhaps that was the best place Xuan Xuanzi could call home.
"Uhm, she won't go insane, will she?" Lin Jin asked. He was referring to Xuan Xuanzi. He wasn't trying to be a worrywart, but because the immortal empress was too powerful, if she tried anything, no one could stop her.
Neither could Shu Xiaolou.
The latter had considered this possibility before.
"I can't stop her if she wants to leave. So long as she doesn't return to the Acheron River, there is no place inside this Unending Nature Landscape that can seal her up. But I don't think she plans on leaving and probably won't go berserk for now." Now that Shu Xiaolou had become the Unending Nature Landscape's painting spirit, she could examine any corner of the painting at will.
And she had been observing Xuan Xuanzi earlier.
Lin Jin thought it made sense. They had no courage to provoke Xuan Xuanzi right now, and she wasn't their enemy.
So they could just leave her be.
That aside, Lin Jin and Shu Xiaolou had achieved their goal this time. After obtaining ownership over this Unending Nature Landscape, it was as if Shu Xiaolou had just won a jackpot, and the painting improved her strength significantly.

Moreover, this painting was a magic treasure crafted by the immortal emperor and immortal empress. It might even be the only piece in this world. So Lin Jin couldn't imagine the benefits Shu Xiaolou would gain.
In fact, Shu Xiaolou subsequently told Lin Jin she would be staying in the Unending Nature Landscape to research this painting realm's mysteries. To her, this was like a treasure trove with countless rooms. She could only watch on with envy previously because she didn't have the keys to these rooms. Now that she had the master key, of course she would want to open them all up, one by one, to see what was inside.
It was surely a thrill to look forward to.
And Lin Jin understood, so he said nothing. Shu Xiaolou crafted another drop of Cosmos Ink for Lin Jin. This Cosmos Ink was linked to the Unending Nature Landscape.
Lin Jin put it away carefully. With this drop of Cosmic Ink, he could enter the Unending Nature Landscape whenever he wanted.
"This Unending Nature Landscape can be hidden in any mountain or river. It actually already contains every area of the mainland inside its hundred layers. So you can say this painting's medium is the mainland," Shu Xiaolou said.
Lin Jin was dumbfounded before realizing what she meant.
In other words, this painting was everywhere in the mainland so there was no taking it away. For this exact reason, they could enter the painting no matter where they were.
They could also access the Divine Cloud Passage.
"Once I'm done with my research, I'll head to Daluo Temple to draw them a Buddhist hall painting. This hall will be virtual and normal people wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. After that, you can invite that friend of yours over to protect Daluo Temple from there. That way, he won't have to fear the immortal devouring beast's attacks," Shu Xiaolou added.
The friend she had referred to was none other than Inferno Monk.

Lin Jin nodded.
This was the main event for him. If the plan worked, the immortals at the extraterritorial land would have a chance to return to the mainland. Of course, they could only live inside the Unending Nature Landscape and never go out, or they risked being detected by the immortal devouring beast. At the present stage, no one, not even Xuan Xuanzi would be brave enough to face this powerful creature.
Only Lin Jin knew that the immortal devouring beast was only a Rank 9 beast.
This prompted another impulse in him. Xuan Xuanzi, the Unending Nature Landscape, none of those actually mattered to Lin Jin except the Museum of Deadly Beasts.
Because only the museum could promote a creature up to Rank 9.
Once they achieved Rank 9, Lin Jin wouldn't have to fear the immortal devouring beast anymore. He could even kill it then.
Xiao Huo was now Rank 7, only two levels away from Rank 9. However, Lin Jin was surely aware that the advancement requirement of both ranks was far more difficult than a Rank 7 evolution.
Lin Jin and Shu Xiaolou had spent days reaching the hundredth layer of the Unending Nature Landscape. But now that Shu Xiaolou took control over it, Lin Jin could easily return to the first later.
And this was the first place Lin Jin had ventured inside this painting. This layer was also home to the Beast Tamer Sect.
Shu Xiaolou had remained at the hundredth layer so Lin Jin and Xiao Huo were on their own.
"Since we're here, you should take a look around. The Beast Tamer Sect has quite a few nice things laying around after all," Shu Xiaolou had said to Lin Jin.
As the painting's new master, Shu Xiaolou clearly knew there were things suitable for Lin Jin in the Beast Tamer Sect, so Lin Jin planned to search it thoroughly.
Prior to this, Lin Jin couldn't enter the Beast Tamer Sect because of a strong restriction spell. But Lin Jin wasn't the man he was before. Upon reaching the Beast Tamer Sect, Xiao Huo stepped forward and roared.
Rumble!
A loud thundering sound quaked the earth, breaking the Beast Tamer Sect's restriction spell. Since Xiao Huo was at the profound immortal level, breaking a sect's restriction spell was easy for him.
Shu Xiaolou had explained that the Beast Tamer Sect was actually founded by one of the immortal emperor's disciples. During the great immortal tragedy, this disciple had been lucky enough to obtain the Unending Nature Landscape so he forcefully shifted the Beast Tamer Sect here.
However, the restriction spell on the Unending Nature Landscape had been too strong, so the sect may have entered, but the immortals didn't. So most of the sect's immortals died outside while a few individuals, like Du Li, successfully moved in.
Time passed after that and Du Li died inside this painting, turning into a remnant soul and encountering Lin Jin later on.
One of the advantages Lin Jin gained the last time he came here was the Beastmaster Fourth Scroll. But now it seemed like this skill was cultivated only by the regular disciples of the sect. With his currently elevated tastes, Lin Jin only thought the skill as average.
After breaking the Beast Tamer Sect's restriction spell, Lin Jin began wandering inside.
His first targets were places like the library.
Sure enough, this facility contained tons of immortal cultivation manuals and beast taming manuals. Although Lin Jin already knew most of them, some could still assist in improving himself.
For example, spells that could increase a beast's strength, and weapon crafting guides that taught him how to forge armors for pet beasts. Lin Jin found them fascinating.
He couldn't possibly research them here, so he took them away to be studied another day.

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne (1870) (Completed)
In 1866, ships of several nations spot a mysterious sea monster, which some suggest is a giant narwhal. The US government assembles an expedition to find and destroy the monster. Professor Pierre Aronnax, a French marine biologist (and narrator within the story) receives a last-minute invitation to join the expedition. As the expedition travels south around Cape Horn into the Pacific Ocean, the crew finds the monster after a long search and then attack it, but the ship is damaged with the three main protagonists thrown into the water. They are quickly captured and then meet the enigmatic Captain Nemo. ~ Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is a classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne and was originally published in 1870. The novel was originally serialized between March 1869 and June 1870 in Pierre-Jules Hetzel's periodical, the Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation. An illustrated edition, published by Hetzel in November 1871, included 111 illustrations by Alphonse de Neuville and Édouard Riou. Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is regarded as one of the premiere adventure novels and one of Verne's greatest works, along with Around the World in Eighty Days and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
