Chapter 675: 675
Chapter 675: Black Water Dies
“Good, good.” Seeing how the other’s attention was successfully diverted, Lin Jin said no more.
Just then, one of the immortals dressed in black who was in charge of maneuvering the cloud called out, “We’re here!”
Lin Jin looked down.
It was about time they arrived at their destination, given how fast they were traveling. A rough estimate would put them ten thousand miles deep inside the extraterritorial zone.
Simply put, Lin Jin was very far away from home.
With the land covered in miasma, Lin Jin’s view was restricted. As they made their descent, he saw a densely packed forest with bizarre-looking vines that seemed to stretch up to hundreds of miles away. The area below them was a swamp.
What caught his attention most was a large nearby pond. The scariest thing was, the pond wasn’t filled with water or mud, but whitish plasma with specks of blue here and there.
A thunder pond!
Even though he was standing quite far from the thunder pond, Lin Jin could already feel the wrath of its electrifying plasma.
His hair began to stand on its ends.
The black cloud didn’t go near the pond either. If anyone were to accidentally fall into it, no one would survive, not even Yan Shenjun.
And so, they landed somewhere safe and traveled on foot instead.
Lin Jin saw a few immortals waiting up ahead in a formation. Among them was Black Water Taoist.
No doubt, they were all Yan Shenjun’s subordinates.
The oriole woman who was brought here long ago laid unconscious on the ground.
“Be careful,” reminded Inferno Monk quietly when he finally found the chance to do so. Lin Jin nodded. He knew this situation allowed no room for carelessness.
Hence, Lin Jin had been using the blood ghost to protect his body all this while. If the situation called for it, Xiao Huo could also leap out anytime to attack their enemies.

At Rank 6, Xiao Huo was now at the level of a half immortal, which made him useful in battle.
Of course, Lin Jin’s silver bullet was neither Xiao Huo nor the blood ghost. Instead, it was his third type of blood contract beast, the spirit devouring ghost worm.
This creature was his greatest weapon. Based on Xiang Yun’s encounter with the enemy, this creature could kill a half immortal in the blink of an eye.
It didn’t matter if the half immortal was stronger than the rest, their fate would be sealed nonetheless.
Just like a one-hit-kill weapon, it could take one life with every activation.
The possession of these creatures boosted Lin Jin’s confidence a little. Since he also had the fire profound immortal, Inferno Monk, by his side, Lin Jin figured they could still put up a fight should their cooperation break down.
Of course, the Visitation Hall’s door was also constantly in sync behind him. When needed, Lin Jin could just open it to increase his strength or run away.
Anyhow, he had it all figured out.
“Greetings, Master!” The immortals in front came over to greet Yan Shenjun respectfully. It became clear that they were Yan Shenjun’s disciples.
Out of all these disciples, Black Water Taoist was most subservient. When he saw Lin Jin, resentment flashed in his eyes.
However, he wouldn’t dare to act out of line so he retreated with his head bowed low.
Suddenly, Yan Shenjun said, “I heard that one of my disciples have offended Curator and disrespected Mr. Lin in the process. I have strict rules for my students and won’t tolerate such behavior.”
Having said that, he made a move.
He extended his arm and made a grabbing gesture. Black Water Taoist was startled as he was lifted into the air by Yan Shenjun. There, he began to struggle to break free from his master’s grip.
As if a large invisible hand was choking him, Black Water Taoist’s eyes were moments away from popping out of their sockets.

“Those who can’t follow rules deserve death!”
With a squeeze of Yan Shenjun’s fingers, Black Water Taoist’s neck snapped, and he fell limp to the ground with a loud thud.
He died!
This startled Lin Jin quite a bit. He did not expect Yan Shenjun to be this decisive and inhumane.
Regardless of what he had done, Black Water Taoist was officially Yan Shenjun’s disciple. Even Lin Jin was flabbergasted by how little reluctance there was for the latter to kill his disciple.
This was an indication that Black Water Taoist meant nothing to Yan Shenjun. He was just a disposable pawn.
Lin Jin quickly regained his senses and chuckled. “The past isn’t worth mentioning. Why do you have to go so far, Yan Shenjun?”
Yan Shenjun answered with a serious look on his face, “He offended an unfettered immortal so death awaits him either way. Since he’s my student, I should give him an easy end. Otherwise, he would have to suffer a painful death in the future, which would be sinful.”
What an outrageous excuse.
Lin Jin had to be impressed by how shameless Yan Shenjun was.
He killed his disciple under the justification that it was for the man’s good, that he was doing the duty of a benevolent teacher.
What a heartless man.
Lin Jin smiled silently. Yan Shenjun probably did that to ease their relationship as he too, noticed the malice Black Water Taoist had shown in his eyes.
Also, if Curator truly was an unfettered immortal, Yan Shenjun couldn’t keep Black Water Taoist around him either. To let the man stay with him would just be attracting trouble upon himself.
Hence, for Curator and himself, Yan Shenjun had to eliminate Black Water Taoist. Black Water Taoist was the largest idiot in the room after all. Despite all his scheming and strategizing, he still lost his life in the end. Worse, he died by the hands of his teacher.
How pitiful.
Since he died, that was that. Black Water Taoist was indeed a nuisance and a potential danger for Lin Jin so there was no merit in him being alive. Yan Shenjun had done a good thing.
Now that Yan Shenjun had shown his sincerity, it was time for Lin Jin to show his.
Without hesitation, Lin Jin walked over to the oriole. After just a few sleights of hand, the oriole woman woke up from her coma.
Lin Jin relied on the Psyche-Refining Needle, whose miraculous capabilities were known only to Lin Jin alone. The others watched on with fascination, wondering how Lin Jin managed to awaken the oriole so easily when nothing they tried worked.
Yan Shenjun was delighted by the outcome.
After all, this oriole monster was the key to activating that thunder pond nearby.
“Mr. Lin is truly skillful,” praised Yan Shenjun.
When the oriole woman woke up to this sight, her first reaction was to invoke a spell to escape. Though, how could a half immortal monster like her ever succeed?
The other profound immortal in Yan Shenjun’s ranks grabbed the oriole woman, restraining her effortlessly.
Lin Jin didn’t stop them. Yan Shenjun’s group needed the oriole woman to chant the Mantra of Heaven so she would be safe for now. Of course, if they wanted to kill her after she had served her purpose, Lin Jin would definitely try to save her if he could.
Nothing exciting happened after that. The oriole woman trembled in fear after being frightened by some spells. Being a mere monster, if she refused to cooperate, certain death awaited her.
Moreover, Yan Shenjun had made it clear that he only needed her to chant a mantra with her Dharma voice. Once she completes her duty, he would set her free.
The oriole woman had no other choice but to comply with his order.

Magriculture (Rewrite)
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is a rewrite of the original "Magriculture", which some of you may have read. (To those who did, you have my deepest gratitude, it is absolutely because of your patronage and comments that this rewrite happened, and I feel the story is better for it.) That said, this story is not a complete and polished work, there will be mistakes and errors, an occasionally these errors may mean I need to rewrite portions of the story (as of this posting the story has gone through two major rewrites already, and I'm seriously hoping there won't be need of a third.) Because of this, there may at times be changes. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will. Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If you're looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.
