Chapter 628: 628
Chapter 628: Immortal Empress Spirit Pond
Lin Jin took this opportunity to appraise Dopey Bear and he was silently shocked by the result. Just as he expected, Dopey Bear was a Rank 6 beast.
Being a Rank 6 made him an immortal beast.
What’s more, Dopey Bear was born with a strong constitution and was about a hundred and four years old.
Despite its hulking figure, it was considered a ‘juvenile’ here in the extraterritorial land.
Zuo Men had been caring for the bear for about a hundred years now so the two understood each other well. Although they weren’t bound by a blood contract, their bond was stronger than that.
Huang Shi Sanren, on the other hand, was a famous loose immortal in the area who belonged to no sect. During the great immortal tragedy, he was the servant of a small immortal sect. Then, by chance, he managed to escape here when he was still young. He spent the rest of his life cultivating slowly, and he achieved immortality at one point.
However, here in the extraterritorial land where immortals were a dime a dozen, Huang Shi Sanren’s cultivation level was only mediocre. Though, the yellow crystal sword on his back was undoubtedly unique.
Huang Shi Sanren had obtained a crystal by chance, and after polishing it for sixty years, he crafted a sword out of it. He also learned some phenomenal abilities along the way, which earned him his reputation today.
His sword functioned on light and its Sword Energy gleamed with a myriad of colors. Its specialty was swiftness.
It possessed the speed of light.
However, the sharpness of its Sword Energy was only average. As demonstrated earlier, the fact that Dopey Bear was able to deflect it using its wind claws meant that it had its limitations too.
Though, that skill was only limited to immortals, like Dopey Bear. Lin Jin was green with envy after reading the evaluation, as the bear was a rare beast among immortal beasts, and its growth potential was near overwhelmingly high.
Moreover, it would gain a supernatural ability after activating its bloodline.

Its bloodline was ‘mountain blood’.
After activation, it could turn into a huge mountain, and no matter what attacks the enemy used, Dopey Bear could just slap them silly and no attack could affect it.
If an immortal sect provoked it, it could just turn into a mountain and roll over the sect, crushing them all to dust.
For now, Dopey Bear’s mountain blood hasn’t been activated yet.
Lin Jin quietly studied Dopey Bear’s evolution method and bloodline activation method before laughing self-deprecatingly at himself. His nerdy tendencies were acting up again. Lin Jin found it funny how enthusiastic he was when it came to unknown beasts, compared to beautiful women.
Dopey Bear started feeling uncomfortable due to the amount of attention it was receiving from Lin Jin.
Zuo Men and Huang Shi Sanren had previously agreed to meet nearby so they could head to the Immortal Empress Spirit Pond together.
“Back during the reign of the Immortal Emperor, he had countless immortal consorts but there was only one empress. She achieved the status of an unfettered immortal early on and she crafted a magic treasure called the Immortal Spirit Pond.”
Huang Shi Sanren was flaunting his knowledge as they traveled.
Lin Jin listened attentively because he had no idea what it was. Since this information came from an immortal, it must be quite reliable.
Zuo Men was quick to rain on his parade.
“Magical? How magical?” asked Zuo Men provocatively.
Huang Shi Sanren was left speechless for a moment.
“Th-that I don’t know since I’ve never seen it before. Rumor has it that during the Heaven Palace War, the Immortal Empress Spirit Pond was smashed to bits, and a large piece of it fell into this area. Once every century, it would gather a pool of spirit water that is immensely beneficial to beasts and immortals alike. That’s why it’s like a magic treasure.”
As he spoke, Huang Shi Sanren touched the yellow crystal sword on his back with a loving expression.
It was hard to imagine that a man could reveal such an expression for his sword so Lin Jin quickly averted his gaze.

Still, he continued listening to Huang Shi Sanren’s story.
“Does this mean that the day of the spirit pool’s century accumulation is near?” asked Lin Jin.
“Haha, Taoist Lin has finally arrived at the right question.” Huang Shi Sanren nodded.
“That’s right. In a few days, one century will be up. So, Taoist Lin, you came just in time. Since you’re here, I suggest that we go together. Although we don’t plan on bathing in the pool, we still think it’s worth taking a look at. Who knows we might have something to gain from it.”
He was trying to tell Lin Jin indirectly to manage his expectations.
It made sense too.
Loose immortals like Zuo Men and Huang Shi Sanren did not enjoy the protection of a sect, so they had to rely on themselves. That was the reason why they tried to latch onto every opportunity to grow stronger.
From the fact that the spirit pond only appeared once every century, Lin Jin guessed that many immortals had their eyes on it too Most of them were just being nosy and there may not be actual benefits to reap.
Still, just as Huang Shi Sanren said, a shot not taken is a shot missed. If they do not visit the pond, their chances of growing was completely nil.
‘The Immortal Empress Spirit Pond is indeed worth taking a look at,’ thought Lin Jin.
Although his goal here was to find a nine sun quartz, if other chance encounters presented themselves, he would grasp them too.
According to his companions, the Immortal Empress Spirit Pool was said to be beneficial for immortals, immortal beasts, and magic treasures, so Lin Jin had to visit it.
Lin Jin found the right timing to ask Zuo Men and Huang Shi Sanren about the nine sun quartz, to see if they knew anything about it.
He got an expected response.
Zuo Men was confused. He was completely oblivious as to the existence of this item. The way he reacted reminded Lin Jin of a country bumpkin who had never seen much of the outside world. Perhaps his knowledge might even be inferior to Lin Jin.
Huang Shi Sanren, on the other hand, was quite well-informed. After hearing the name of the item, he asked, “Are you perhaps referring to the nine sun quartz that only profound immortals can craft?”
Realizing that he might be the key to his problem, Lin Jin nodded. “That’s right. Taoist Huang Shi, do you know how I can obtain one?”
Huang Shi Sanren immediately shook his head. “That, I do not know. I’ve only ever heard about it from someone else. Dear me, a fire attribute profound immortal! Who knows if an expert of that caliber still exists in our world.”
Lin Jin was disappointed.
Just like Qin Yunshang and Chen Xuankong had mentioned, even disciples of orthodox immortal sects like them couldn’t obtain one, never mind loose immortals.
“But, I’ve heard from someone that two thousand years ago, a fire attribute profound immortal passed away and his Universe Ring shattered in the sky. Countless magic treasures that he possessed fell onto Treasure Mountain. Perhaps a nine sun quartz was among them. However, that place is filled with fierce beasts so forget us, even immortals from orthodox sects would never dare to explore that area.”
The perk of traveling with loose immortals was that they had information on all kinds of strange news. It was the first time Lin Jin had heard of a ‘Treasure Mountain’.
Qin Yunshang and Chen Xuankong were presumably unaware of them.
Whether or not that incident happened over Treasure Mountain was unconfirmed. However, Lin Jin would travel there, even if the chances of the statement being true were 20 percent.
Simply put, if a fire attribute profound immortal’s Universe Ring did break and all kinds of magic treasure got scattered over the mountain, they might have all been picked up by now. Surely they wouldn’t wait for him!
After all, the treasures didn’t fall just yesterday.
Despite the odds, Lin Jin would still try to look for the nine sun quartz. At the same time, he would see the Immortal Empress Spirit Pond as well.

Can he avert canon, save the Uzumaki, and forge his people into a mighty nation? Or will he fail, dooming his clan to extinction? At the end of the day, all he wants is a good life. And considering even Death itself didn't stop him, he pities whoever gets in his way. ================== Tags: Naruto, Reincarnation, OC, eventual multi-cross. ================== Author's (Brief) Note: Back by popular demand. This was my first significant fanfic (and fic in general). I wasn't happy with the writing as time went on, and took it down, but years later am still getting requests to put it back up so I guess some people liked it. Newly re-released as I finish some minor editing, there are about 100,000 words (~360 RRL pages) already written, so releases should be fast until I catch up with the backlog. That said, it may languish in hiatus at that point if the interest isn't high enough to merit continuing, so if you're the type to only read finished stories (or ones where the author promises to do so), I am very specifically not promising that. On the other hand, if enough people read, like, review, comment, rate, etc. then it will get added to my writing schedule. Generally, the character is based on a “how badass could someone who hasn't done ridiculously crazy shit be? Or, how does someone with the potential, in another setting, with a lot of luck, to be a badass act and develop as a modern, productive member of society? And then how would they deal with the Naruto-verse?” Please, please do not judge my writing by this. Unless you really like it, in which case fine, do, but recognize my other writing is likely better (unless it’s that one MTG/ASoIaF/SW fic I did over on SB as a speed-writing experiment, which is also pretty terrible).

The Priest of Genes
Meet Seth, acolyte in the Church of Virtue. He’ll be a Priest like his father soon, he just knows it. Sure he didn’t inherit his mother’s preaching power, but he doesn’t mind being the secondary priest at whatever temple he is assigned to. Just as long as he has a library. Meet this genetics textbook. Hmm, that doesn’t belong here. It must have come from somewhere far away, I guess something happened to its owner. I’m sure a studious young man who likes healing could go far with this information, whether he wants to or not. This is my first time really writing anything, so I hope you like it! Please let me know if I make any mistakes; I have a new R&D tech job at a genomics company, so I probably don’t edit as much as some people. I’m shooting for two thousand-ish word chapters released on Sundays, since none of the webnovels I read ever seem to update that day. Underserved Market! Genre is fantasy, possibly progression fantasy. Maybe a tiny bit litRPG if you wait a while and squint really hard, but that’s the most I’m prepared to claim. Hedged my bets on the content warnings, nothing that bad. Cover art from A. W. Gelman

"Will you get off of me. This isn't apart of the deal Landon. You don't get to fuck me." "I know I know. But let's just imagine." I stood up with a dress in my hand trying to leave his embrace. But he kept my hips on his pelvis. "It's dark, we're on my bed. Your small frame under me-""Landon." He ignored me. "As I pound viscously into you." I couldn't help but to imagine to. A wave of heat flashed over me and he chuckled. "You're thinking of it too now, aren't you?" He asked breathing into my neck. With that I pushed myself off of him. "Asshole." I muttered slipping on the sundress.Highest rank: #9 in interracial-romance #6 in interracial
