Chapter 562: Continuous Slaughter
Those green flames shouldn’t be underestimated. It was probably a condensation of toxic fire, which explains why it felt more domineering than the usual orange flames.
“Open!”
Without hesitation, Lin Jin opened the Visitation Hall’s door.
For a while, Lin Jin could borrow its energy to enhance his spells.
Fire’s weakness was water.
Water was the most suited to put out these toxic green flames. Even so, the dragon’s fire was much too powerful to be doused immediately. Lin Jin was fortunate enough to have the water reservoir scale and Xiao Huo’s Dharma body.
Ice possessed Yin energy, so by using the Dharma body to activate the water reservoir scale, Lin Jin could amplify the water’s energy by opening the door of the Visitation Hall.
In an instant, a round barrier of water with a hundred-meter radius was erected around Lin Jin. Not only did he protect himself, but he also protected everyone else within the vicinity.
To combat this toxic dragon fire, Lin Jin decided to go on the defensive before striking the enemy.
The green flames crashed into the water dome and steam quickly rose into the skies. Although the dragon flames were intimidating, Curator’s water dome was just as tough. This was a duel of spells of the highest class.
In the end, the dragon fire failed to breach the water dome. The water reservoir scale absorbs water energy from the environment so it could never be exhausted.
Just then, something flew out of Shang’er’s arms. It grew into a giant rooster with a burning crest within a matter of seconds. It was Goldy whom Shang’er had brought over from Maple City.
Goldy may only be at the peak of Rank 4 for now, but he had a unique bloodline. Having received Lin Jin’s guidance, he could easily hold his ground against Rank 5 beasts.
Without receiving instructions from Lin Jin, Goldy was already filled with the will to fight. After expanding in size, the rooster opened his beak to eject a stream of violent flames.
Goldy’s flames were that of a Golden Crow’s, making it one of the most powerful of all fire variants. It was so powerful, in fact, that it burned as hot as the sun’s surface. While it looked like nothing special, it felt surprisingly domineering.

It didn’t take long for Goldy’s flames to reach their target – the zombie dragon, Corpse Taoist, and his men.
“Oh no!”
Corpse Taoist was a beast appraiser himself. His standard being above Rank 4, he could easily tell that Goldy was a rare Golden Crow.
Unable to block the fire attack, he quickly backed away.
The zombie dragon twisted, bringing out a large cloud of death energy to fend off Goldy’s attack.
There was a mythical saying that clouds followed the will of the dragon. Sure enough, the six-clawed golden dragon was adept at manipulating clouds. After turning into a zombie, the clouds it controlled would now turn into impenetrable death clouds.
Goldy’s fire failed to take down the enemy but it helped resolve Lin Jin’s troubles.
Lin Jin retrieved his water reservoir scale and then stepped onto a piece of cloud. He then made his way toward the greyish clouds above. Shang’er, Zhao Jingyan, and Shu Xiaolou gathered behind him. It seemed that they were planning to fight alongside him.
Besides them, Zhong Zifeng and the academy lecturers were ready for the onslaught as well.
Most, if not all Rank 4 beast appraisers had Rank 5 pet beasts so their strengths shouldn’t be underestimated. What’s more, Heavenly Spiral’s enemies were now eyeing the kingdom eagerly from a distance.
“How dare you show off with those petty tricks of yours!” Corpse Taoist’s voice boomed. He clearly was thinking of backing down just yet. The next instant, more than a dozen of experts leaped out from the greyish clouds.
These people were clad in black, but among them was Appraiser Yan who had gone missing a little while ago.
The crowd immediately recognized him, and the sight confirmed their suspicion that he was the traitor they were looking for. The most furious person was, you guessed it, Appraiser Yang Ming.
“Appraiser Yan, I thought of you as a friend but you have schemed against me! Today, I will kill you to avenge my family and friends!”
Appraiser Yang flung his sleeve and a violent gust swept up. Then, from behind him, a rainbow tiger pounced forward at Appraiser Yan.

This rainbow tiger was the one Shang’er had picked up in the mountains. It had been with Appraiser Yang this whole time, and although they weren’t bound to each other by a blood contract, they had become good friends.
With Appraiser Yan’s incredible knowledge and memory, paired with his skills as a Rank 4 appraiser, he managed to promote the tiger up to Rank 4.
After blessing it with many enhancement skills, the Rank 4 tiger’s might was on par with Rank 5 beasts. This proved just how skillful Appraiser Yang was.
Dressed completely in black, there was a look of sympathy in Appraiser Yan’s eyes.
“Appraiser Yang, we have no grudge against each other. It was a pity that you were holding onto a cherished item. I understand why you are so keen on exacting revenge on me. However, you are no match for me now. With your damaged body and inferior tiger, you’re only asking for death. Heed my advice and retreat from the battlefield.”
Appraiser Yan clearly didn’t see Appraiser Yang as a worthy opponent.
Yang Ming couldn’t be bothered to argue with him.
Their grudge was such that no words could remedy the scars. Condensing a spirit sword with his finger, he thrusted it at Appraiser Yan.
“Yang Clan’s Spirit Blade!”
A line of spirit energy was launched from his finger. In less than a second, it managed to cover a distance of several hundred feet. Just when it was about to pierce Appraiser Yan’s face, the man’s expression faltered before he raised an arm to block the attack.
Crack!
Appraiser Yan’s golden arm guard shattered into pieces. Not only that, but even his wrist was bleeding. The blow was too large to ignore.
Murderous intent surfaced on Appraiser Yan’s face.
“Since you refused to heed my advice, don’t blame me for showing you no mercy.” Appraiser Yan was now in the mood to kill. Having said that, he sent his pet beast forward to engage Yang Ming’s rainbow tiger.
“You! How dare you show your face here again!” a voice barked and Appraiser Ouyang arrived to aid Appraiser Yang Ming. He could tell that Appraiser Yang was struggling slightly against Appraiser Yan so he had come to help.
Meanwhile, the other experts of the Demonic Appraisal Association were also engaged in battle. While both sides had sent out their elites, the academy and Heavenly Spiral had numerical superiority. However, Ghost Taoist had yet to take action.
Corpse Taoist suddenly said, “Brother, if you help me, I won’t mistreat you after all of this is over.”
He was pressuring Ghost Taoist to attack.
Aware that he couldn’t delay anymore, the latter nodded. With a fling of his sleeve, he summoned a ghost lion to join the fray.
Ghost Taoist was only second to Corpse Taoist in terms of strength. He alone managed to subdue half of the academy’s lecturers. If Zhong Zifeng hadn’t engaged him, the academy would have suffered greatly.
The generals of Heavenly Spiral also prepared to fight. Just then, a dragon’s shadow appeared inside the gray clouds, which fell onto the army like a celestial tent. Like a barrier, it barred outsiders from joining the battle.
It was obvious that Corpse Taoist came prepared. He would first lure out Curator or Lin Jin and then set up a barrier to separate him from reinforcements. Even if Heavenly Spiral wanted to join the battle, they couldn’t break the barrier so quickly.
The zombie dragon darted among the clouds, appearing and disappearing before suddenly charging forward to bite at Lin Jin. The dragon opened its mouth to reveal endless rows of dagger-like teeth. Forget one person, it could swallow even an entire mountain.
“Phoenix Dance of the Nine Heavens!”
Before Lin Jin could do anything, Zhao Jingyan went on the offensive.

Alviona (undergoing Rewrite).
This fiction is going to undergo severe Editing and a Rewrite over next few months. Here is what it hopes to accomplish: 1) Fix the glaring issues from Style in every chapter 1-31 (Dialogues, POV switches and Head-hopping too much) 2) Add some new chapters in and justify the development between Sofia and Anita 3) Remove the info dumps and make it more organic 4) Finalize the genres that this fiction belongs to 5) Create warning in the synopsis relating to the contents of the fiction. 6) Overhaul and show what Mira's view on Alviona is (slowly) 7) Introduce new characters 8) Show chapters the way they were intended, as clues apparently were not visible at all! 9) Make Alviona a bit more serious. 10) Make me (Author) enjoy reading my own work more (yes! :)) Hi. I have been gone for quite a long while. With heart surgery and such that has happened two months ago, I had not had a chance to log on RR due to being hospitalized. I had some other issues that the admins were kind enough to deal with on this fiction. It's good to see everything in one piece. The synopsis has been removed. Chapter 1 should be coming out sometimes before christmas. A lot has changed. I hope for the better. Instead of edits, I have re-read every single chapter and found it to be unsatisfying. A lot did not make sense and unless you have previously speculated what Alviona is, many things she does won't fall into pieces. Well then, time to address all of this. Ladies and gentlelmen, this fiction is undergoing a full scale re-write. While the characters and developments stay the same, it's being done differently. So much that the world should feel darker as it should have been. For those who have stuck around and know the story: Awesome. I worked hard on this, and hope that you will like my re-write. For thos that are new: Welcome. Give me some time, as I am super sluggish. I don't know much time is some time, but I gurantee chapter 1 will be up before Christmas. This said, again, thank you and know that I am back. And that this fiction will be completed. AT ANY COST. I will update synopsis after I post chapter 1. I might post Alviona (revised, as this current one is far too.... simplified, watered down, and dissapointing version of it) seperately. Those that want this, here. But I don't want to add chapter 40. It won't make sense without the backup and world-building of re-write. It will piss myself off. Now then, let's write hm? *This beautiful piece of art is provided by Charee from DeviantArt* https://www.deviantart.com/chalii

Dragonfall
This fiction is based on a short story I wrote inspired by a prompt on r/WritingPrompts. Contrary to my plans, I haven't sketched out the story in detail or written anything ahead of time. I've discovered I don't do well at that. I'm just writing this thing and we'll see where it takes us, OK? Nothing every came easy to Ryan Shakespeare, but as an elite British Army sniper he had found a niche that suited him, right up to the point at which he found himself summoned to a world far from his own to fulfil the job of a champion. Luckily, Ryan arrived with his experimental sniper rifle, so surely killing the dragon and getting his chance to go home would be a simple job, right? But Ryan should have known better, because nothing ever comes easy. Caught up in the politics of the Draconic League, Ryan will need to keep all his wits about him and use every resource at his disposal if he's going to persuade these people to let him do his job and go home.
