Chapter 1167: 1167
Chapter 1167: Test
Seeing the luxurious-clothed young master walking out, many people exclaimed in surprise.
“That’s the son of the Hengji Restaurant’s head shopkeeper. I heard that he’s only 28 years old and has become an Advanced Spiritualist.”
Only 28 years old and already an Advanced Spiritualist.
Such talent was undoubtedly High Grade. Although there were many powerhouses in the Great Wide World, most of them accumulated their experiences through age. To be able to achieve such accomplishments at the age of less than 30 was extremely rare.
Some of the other youths were envious. They complained about not having such good talent and background.
The luxurious-clothed young master was elegant and graceful. After walking over, he bowed respectfully to the old man who was carrying out the test. The old man had a slightly strange look in his eyes, but he quickly returned to normal. He repeated the words he had said thousands of times before.
“Put your hand on it.”
The young man placed his hand on the crystal ball. After a while, a red light appeared on the crystal ball. This light was incredibly beautiful, and it was many times brighter than those that appeared during the turns of people with Middle Grade talents.
“As expected…”
The onlookers confirmed their guesses. Finally, a figure with High Grade talent appeared.
Needless to say, the elder who carried out the test also had a smile on his face. After testing for a long time, only a person with High Grade talent appeared. He said kindly, “Now, let’s test your mental power. As long as it’s of Middle Grade, you can become an outer sect disciple of the Mystic Sky Sect.”
It was worth noting that the requirement for mental power was much more relaxed. After all, this could be cultivated afterward. On the other hand, talent was real. It was not that nothing could improve one’s talent, but every single one of those things was a rare treasure. They were not something that ordinary cultivators were qualified to enjoy.
The young man in luxurious clothes seemed to have known the process long ago. He bowed once again and walked to the other side.
He sat on the praying mat in the middle. The formation around him was activated, and a wave of mental power slowly appeared from the formation. This mental power formed a wave of pressure that heavily pressed down on the candidate’s heart.
As time passed, the pressure became greater. The young man in luxurious clothes was fine at first but after a few seconds, his expression had changed slightly.
He gritted his teeth and continued to persevere.
5 seconds.
10 seconds.
The old man had a smile on his face. As long as it was more than 10 seconds, it meant that the man had passed the test. 10 seconds was the minimum requirement for one with Middle Grade talent.
After enduring for 10 seconds, the young master’s head was covered in sweat. The clothes on his back were soaked through, and it was as if he had been drenched in heavy rain.
Finally, after 18 seconds, the young man could not take it anymore and fell to the ground. The formation stopped, and the old man walked over.

There was a hint of regret on his face. If the young master had continued to hold on for 2 more seconds, his mental power evaluation would become High Grade.
Nonetheless, the mental power test was up to the heavens. This result was already very good. At least, the elder he had found a qualified seedling. With the 2 successful candidates from before, his efforts from the past few days had not been in vain.
The elder used a portion of his mental power on the luxurious-clothed young master, who slowly woke up. He asked, “Did I succeed?”
“You passed.”
The old man nodded. With High Grade talent and mental power that was close to High Grade, the young master could become an outer sect disciple of the Mystic Sky Sect.
Following that, the elder glanced at the young master and asked, “What’s your name?”
Only those who passed the test could leave their names behind.
The young master’s heart skipped a beat, and he answered hurriedly, “Senior, my name is Song Qingshan.”
His name was recorded on a yellow paper. The elder then said, “You can go back first. I’ll bring you to the Mystic Sky Sect after 3 days at noon.”
Song Qingshan thanked him right away. He barely managed to support his body, and a few servants in the crowd rushed over to help him up.
In the crowd, there was a middle-aged fat man with an excited look on his face. “To celebrate my son’s entry into the Mystic Sky Sect, the Hengji restaurant will hold a banquet for 3 days starting from tomorrow. Please come.”
The Hengji restaurant could be considered a famous restaurant in the Mystic Sky Immortal City. The charges were high there, but their service and products were of high quality. Many people had never been there before. When they heard the news, they were overjoyed and quickly congratulated the shopkeeper.
Song Qingshan left with the help of a few servants, and the test continued. A glimmer of hope was ignited in everyone’s hearts.
Even the head shopkeeper of the Hengji Restaurant was so excited after knowing that his son could enter the Mystic Sky Sect. It was evident how rare this opportunity was.
Furthermore, after witnessing someone succeed, everyone felt that passing the test was no longer out of reach.
Even so, the scene seemed to repeat itself.
The others failed.
They all failed.
Among the people who took the test, there were even a few who were over 50 and wanted to fish in troubled waters. The old man who was in charge of the test could tell at a glance. Those people were beaten half to death by the few young men in grey robes and almost died.
This also gave the others a wake-up call.
The sky was gradually darkening.
Other than the son of the Hengji Restaurant, nobody else passed. Ou Yangming glanced at the long line and walked toward the person in front of him.
If he was at the back of the line, he did not know how many days he would have to wait. The old man in charge of the test had said that he would leave in 3 days. The people behind him would not have the chance to take the test.

Becoming an outer sect disciple was the best way to sneak into the Mystic Sky Sect. If one wanted to pass the test, one must not stay at the back of the line.
The status of an outer sect disciple was low, so it would not attract the attention of the higher-ups.
Ou Yangming patted a burly man at the front.
That burly man had a black beard. He turned his head and saw that the person beside him was a white-faced young man. He glared and shouted, “What are you doing?”
Ou Yangming smiled and asked, “100 high-grade spirit coins for your spot?”
“You want my spot?”
The burly man’s expression changed. His eyes widened after he heard what Ou Yangming said.
“What! Did you say 100 high-grade spirit coins?”
High-grade spirit coins were good things that only Venerable Ones and Rulers had the right to use. 100 high-grade spirit coins would be enough for him to be free and unfettered for 100 years.
The burly man stared at Ou Yangming. ‘A 1-in-1,000 chance to enter the Mystic Sky Sect or 100 high-grade spirit coins?’ This was a very simple choice. Of course, he would choose high-grade spirit coins. So many people had been eliminated, so the bearded man still knew his place.
He pondered for a moment then responded, “Given my spot, I can do the test before dark today. If you want it, 200 high-grade spirit coins!”
‘Does he think I’m a sucker?’
Ou Yangming smiled bitterly. This bearded man looked rough, but he was very smart. The man could see that he needed this position, so he asked for a sky-high price. Nevertheless, did Ou Yangming look like the kind of person who would be easily ripped off?
The young fellow had a smile on his face.
200 high-grade spirit coins and 100 high-grade spirit coins did not make much difference to Ou Yangming, but he did not like the feeling of being ripped off.
Ou Yangming looked at the bearded man and said faintly, “You have to think carefully. I know that you’re already 51 years old. Don’t think that the senior carrying out the test can’t see it. Even if you manage to pass, I’ll still expose you.”
The bearded man’s eyes widened. He looked at Ou Yangming in disbelief. ‘How did this young man see through my age?’
Indeed, he was 51 years old this year. He had thought that the difference would not be too big and that he could fish in troubled waters. He did not expect that he would be recognized by this young fellow at a glance before the test.
‘If even this young fella can tell, the senior carrying out the test…’ Thinking of this, the burly man shivered. The scene of those people being beaten up was still vivid in his mind. The bearded man’s face changed drastically, and he hurriedly whispered in Ou Yangming’s ear, “100 high-grade spirit coins. Deal.”
Ou Yangming narrowed his eyes, and the corners of his mouth curled up. He uttered, “90.”
The bearded man’s face turned ashen. ‘I stopped raising the price, so why is he offering 10 coins less? He’s scamming me.’
Despite that, thinking that the young fellow had something to use against him, he no longer hesitated.
“Deal.”
These words were said through clenched teeth.
Ou Yangming threw out a small interspatial bag. It was not valuable, and there were 90 high-grade spirit coins inside.
The bearded man took the spirit coins and left. Ou Yangming smoothly took over his spot.
Ou Yangming also had his choice of candidates. Since he was many times stronger than these people, he could clearly see through their age.
He did not choose anyone else because the other people might still have a 1-in-a-1,000 chance. On the other hand, the burly man definitely did not have a chance and would be beaten up. Ou Yangming was doing a good deed by taking over his spot.
Time passed slowly.
The number of people in front of Ou Yangming decreased, and the test was carried out faster as well. Everyone was eliminated at the first stage. Other than the young man whose name was Song Qingshan, no one with High Grade talent had appeared so far.
After the person in front was eliminated, Ou Yangming walked up.
The bearded man from before had not left. After earning 90 high-grade spirit coins, he watched the show from the side.
When he saw Ou Yangming walk up, he had a smile on his face. He did not think that the young fellow would succeed since all the others had been eliminated.
He stared in the direction of the test, wanting to see Ou Yangming make a fool of himself. Although he had gotten 90 spirit coins, he was still cheated by the young fellow in the end. This made him very indignant.
Ou Yangming walked up with a calm look. He looked even more confident than Song Qingshan.
The bearded man looked disdainful as he thought to himself, ‘You’ll cry later once you’re determined to have Low Grade talent.’
At this time, the elder from the Mystic Sky Sect raised his head and glanced at Ou Yangming. He said indifferently, “Put your hand on it.”
This young fellow looked pretty good, but the old man did not take it to heart. There were too few young people with High Grade talent. He had been here for more than half a month, but he had only found a few.
Ou Yangming smiled and put his hand on the crystal ball.
There was no reaction from the crystal ball. The old man’s eyes were filled with disappointment. The bearded man who was watching burst into laughter, causing the people around him to cast sidelong glances at him.
Indeed, there were very few people with High Grade talent. Similarly, there were also very few people with no talent at all. Just as the elder raised his hand and was about to ask Ou Yangming to leave…
All of a sudden, the crystal ball vibrated.
The transparent crystal ball emitted a fiery red light. This light was dazzling and shone like starlight.
