Chapter 1156: 1156
Chapter 1156: Regret
Ou Yangming did not have any ill intentions toward the Starry Sky Hunters but of course, he did not have a good impression of them either. To him, they were just ordinary people who were arrogant but had done some good deeds.
Nonetheless, their conversation earlier made Ou Yangming change his mind. At the very least, they had saved the lives of millions of humans.
No matter what the motive was, this merit had surpassed that of countless people.
In this world, who could truly distinguish between good and evil? Seemingly evil people might actually be good, whereas people who seemed good on the surface might very well be butchers who killed many people in hell.
Seeing Ou Yangming walk out, everyone’s eyes were filled with disbelief. They did not expect that this low-key young fellow would dare to stand up for everyone in front of this terrifying Horned Dragon King.
“Haha, young brother, I was wrong about you before. You’re different from the other white-faced fellas.” The few Starry Sky Hunters were also stunned. The second brother who had previously scolded Ou Yangming laughed and remarked.
This young fellow was indeed different from the others.
There were so many people on the huge flying boat. How many people dared to stand out at this time?
The man of the Heavenly Star Mansion dared to step out because he had confidence. He had a powerful backing, and even the Horned Dragon King did not dare to provoke him.
Only this young fellow had the courage to step out and speak out for justice. Not to mention whether he was reckless or not, just his courage alone was something that most people did not have.
“B*stard, you’re courting death!” The Horned Dragon King’s eyes flashed with a blood-red light. As a member of the Drakes, he was full of pride, and he absolutely could not allow others to disobey his wishes.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t have any intention of dying for the time being. Besides…” Ou Yangming’s gaze carried a hint of ridicule. “Besides, I don’t think you’re qualified!”
Ou Yangming’s words were domineering. The huge flying boat was silent, and everyone broke out in cold sweats.
‘We’re doomed!’ Someone thought in despair. The young fellow’s words would infuriate the Horned Dragon King. Everyone on the flying ship would die for sure.
“Brother Ou.”
Zhang Suixian sighed. He wanted to persuade Ou Yangming not to fight with the Horned Dragon King, but it was too late.
The Horned Dragon King was formidable and famous in the nearby starry skies. Even Zhang Suixian was no match for him. If not for his identity as a member of the Heavenly Star Mansion, he would have fled with Jianjia. Even if that young fellow was a genius, he was undoubtedly courting death.
“Uncle Zhang, can Ou Yangming defeat the horned dragon?” Jianjia asked softly.

Zhang Suixian shook his head and said regretfully, “Impossible. The Horned Dragon King’s already at the peak of the law boundary. He’s the top powerhouse of the Drakes in the Humans’ territory. Very few people from the Heavenly Star Mansion are a match for him. Ou Yangming’s too young, so he’s definitely not a match.”
Jianjia looked at Ou Yangming curiously and asked, “Then why did he stand out?”
Zhang Suixian shook his head. He did not know the answer to that. If Ou Yangming had comprehended the laws, he could just run away. The Horned Dragon King would likely not chase after him. However, if the young fellow provoked the horned dragon, they would be fighting to one’s death.
‘Could he have stood up to say his thoughts because he hasn’t understood the laws and knew that the Horned Dragon King wouldn’t let everyone go no matter what?
Zhang Suixian was still guessing why Ou Yangming wanted to fight the Horned Dragon King head-on, but the dragon had made his move.
The Horned Dragon King raised his head, and a mouthful of red flames shot toward Ou Yangming on the flying boat. The young fellow rose from the ground, and starlights flickered on his body. Holding the silver-white spear in his hand, he descended like a god of war.
Ou Yangming left the flying boat, and he floated into the void, completely blocking out the flames from the Horned Dragon King’s mouth, making it impossible for the flames to get close to the boat. At the same time, his body was swallowed by the fire.
“Is it over?”
The people on the giant flying boat looked at the fire in the sky. They were desperate. Their only hope was gone.
Though, they did not have much hope in the young fellow.
The Horned Dragon King sneered. ‘How dare an ant try to provoke me? He simply doesn’t know what death means.’
Jianjia looked worried. She looked at the sea of fire and asked, “How’s Ou Yangming?”
Zhang Suixian answered in a deep voice, “The Horned Dragon King’s fire is very fearsome. It can burn the void, and it’s only second to the Phoenix Fire. Ou Yangming’s in danger.”
He could feel that Ou Yangming was in the fire. The young fellow did not die, but he did not know his situation at the moment.
The intense flames could even burn one’s spiritual sense. Everyone only dared to look at them with their eyes.
When the Horned Dragon King looked at the sea of flames, his eyelids suddenly twitched. A young fellow walked out from the flames. His body was emitting a purple light, and there was not a single wound on his body. It was as if he had just gone to take a bath.
“How could this be?”
The horned dragon’s expression became serious. He did not expect that young fellow to be unharmed. ‘Did I make a mistake with my flames?’

At this time, the people on the flying boat were also stunned. They thought that Ou Yangming would die in the flames, so they did not expect him to walk out unscathed.
“Uncle Zhang, didn’t you say that Ou Yangming’s in danger?” Jianjia raised her head and looked at the shocked Zhang Suixian.
Zhang Suxian did not know what was going on. Even if he had fallen into the situation just now, he would be injured. Who knew, Ou Yangming…
He noticed the purple light on Ou Yangming’s body, and it seemed to be a kind of fire. ‘Could it be that the purple fire’s more advanced than the Horned Dragon King’s Dragon Flames? But that’s even more exaggerated. How could a human have such a heaven-defying talent?’
Ou Yangming floated in the air with a faint smile on his face. He glanced at the enormous Horned Dragon King and asked indifferently, “Is that all you have?”
The horned dragon’s eyes were filled with shock. “You’re from the Phoenixes? No, you clearly have a human’s aura, but how could you have…”
At this point, the Horned Dragon King was shocked, and his expression became ferocious. “B*stard, no matter who you are, I’ll tear you into pieces today!”
“You can try.” Ou Yangming’s eyes were cold. The silver spear in his hand flashed with a ray of light. He could feel its desire.
It was the thirst for blood and battle!
The Horned Dragon King was not much weaker than Du Xie. He was a top-notch powerhouse in the law boundary.
Nevertheless, so what if he was? Ou Yangming’s strength had surpassed that boundary.
The Horned Dragon King let out an angry roar. He was humongous but agile. His movements were swift and fierce like lightning.
He tore through the air as his sharp claws flickered with cold lights. The immense power of laws filled the space with an oppressive aura.
Ou Yangming was calm as he stood calmly.
“Brother Ou, don’t be careless.” Zhang Suixian could not help but remind him. The Horned Dragon King’ was formidable, and the young fellow was being too careless.
The best way to fight against mountainous Starry Sky Beasts like the Horned Dragon King was through a dogfight instead of resisting head-on. This was because their strength and lethality were many times stronger than that of equal-ranked humans. Using one’s weakness to fight against another’s strength was unquestionably foolish.
Despite that, Ou Yangming still did not move. Looking at the dragon claws that blotted out the sky, he simply chuckled, and the power of a law enveloped his body.
Ou Yangming raised his head and uttered…
“Still!”
The space seemed to have trembled. The Horned Dragon King’s fast movements seemed to have slowed down a lot in Ou Yangming’s perspective.
This was the first time Ou Yangming had used the law of time in a battle. He could feel the rapid depletion of mental power in his mind, but he was still elated. At least, he had succeeded.
The Horned Dragon King’s face changed. Before he even finished his move, his expression had changed from malevolence to fear.
He could feel the power of a law imposed on his body. He could feel that his actions had become slow. In that case, the law should be the legendary law of time.
‘The purple Heavenly Phoenix Fire and the law of time. Just what kind of frightening existence have I provoked?’ The Horned Dragon King was already regretting this.
Having said that, there was no medicine for regret in this world.
The lowly young fellow in front of him made his move. The long spear in his hand danced like a falling meteor.
“Path Intent Spear!”
The starlights were brilliant. The stars that came from the horizon suddenly collided with the Horned Dragon King’s claws.
Crack!
The Horned Dragon King’s claws, which were as tough as magic weapons, suddenly exploded, and blood rained down from the sky.
After taking the attack head-on, the dragon was severely injured. He looked at the spear in Ou Yangming’s hand in disbelief.
‘An Acquired Taoist Tool!’
These words rang in his mind. Other than a Taoist Tool, he could not figure out what kind of weapon could make its claws become as weak as tofu.
“Who are you?” The Dragon King hurriedly retreated. He looked at Ou Yangming in fear. This young fellow had a Taoist Tool and was a Ruler of the laws. ‘When did such a genius appear in this world?’
“That horned dragon retreated!” Jianjia looked at the sky and shouted excitedly.
Zhang Suixian withdrew his gaze and smiled bitterly. He had been worried about Ou Yangming but did not know that the young fellow had it all figured out. The fellow’s strengths were horrifying, so much so that the Horned Dragon King was no match for him.
‘Genius! He’s a genius.’
Zhang Suixian thought of his master, who was the legendary mansion master of the Heavenly Star Mansion. ‘Even at Ou Yangming’s age, he probably couldn’t have reached this level.’
Ou Yangming was still smiling faintly. He looked at the Horned Dragon King, whose claws had been destroyed.
He did not reply to the Horned Dragon King. Instead, he attacked again. This time, he took the initiative to attack.
The Reincarnation Spear pierced through the air, bringing with it a surging and boundless aura as Ou Yangming stabbed out!
Upon seeing this, the Horned Dragon King quickly dodged. After suffering a loss once, he did not dare to fight against the Taoist Tool anymore. At this time, he was filled with regret. If he had known this, he would not have rushed over rashly.

No matter what, their choices will bring forth a new era for Mendala. ------------------------------ If you love vast fantasy worlds, rich, fleshed-out characters, and a adventure where your'e constantly discovering new things along the way, then this is definitely a story you'll enjoy. This is a slow-burn high fantasy / adventure with many characters and intersecting plotlines. It’s a quest so lots of adventuring, exploring, and character moments, but not a ton of fighting/action (though there are definitely some great fight scenes as payoff to the buildup). Because it’s a fantasy world with lots of people and new concepts, I try to make it easy so that you don’t have to memorize anything. The narrative will constantly remind you of important people/places/concepts as you keep moving forward. Some things won’t be fully explained right at the beginning to avoid information overload. My goal is that the reader will learn things organically as the story progresses. I use two mechanisms to help with the intersecting plotlines. - Each chapter is named for the (main) plotline it’s following and which part. - At the beginning of the chapter, and anytime there is a scene shift, the location is listed. Also, though this is definitely a portal-fantasy (isekai) it’s different from the standard isekai, especially since the world transfer doesn’t happen immediately. It’s not Lit-RPG but characters gain powers and grow over time. Also, it’s a group of teens that transfer, not just one central character. All of the teens are distinct characters, with their own character-arcs, relationships, powers, growth etc. Hopefully you’ll find this interesting as you’ll see the world and story from multiple perspectives. The story is always in 3rd Person (Omniscient) POV so that it’s not jarring as perspectives shift.
