Chapter 442: 442
Chapter 442: Vol6 Ch30: The Unextinguishing Will
Being immersed in the boundless disaster aura, Yun Yi’s defensive equipment was activated at full strength, but the destructive consciousness was madly attacking these barriers and would most likely destroy them all very soon.
The only thing his eyes could see was the black aura in his surroundings, not even his hands could be seen clearly through it. His senses were practically sealed off, even his communication device had been interfered with, cutting off his connection to the other Celestials.
Yun Yi didn’t try to yell. With the disaster aura surrounding him, it would be impossible for his voice to travel anywhere. His Celestial comrades should still be around him, so the only thing he needed to do right now was to be careful of the Nanwu Shaman’s ambush.
Currently, the Nanwu Shaman had completely enveloped them in disaster aura, but as a disaster creature herself, she was unaffected by it while their senses were completely blocked out. If they couldn’t regain their senses, then their advantage in numbers would be as good as non-existent.
I still remember where the others are, with the Celestials’ skills, they should each be able to keep track of their own positions as well.
Yun Yi quickly thought to himself and decided on a strategy.
Suppressing his own confusion, Yun Yi opened a small compartment on his right arm’s gauntlet, reduced the strength of the mechanism, then shot out several metallic cones in the directions he had memorized. Each of the cones was attached to a thin thread of metal wire.
Yun Yi focused his attention to his right arm and quickly received feedback, some of the wires were fully stretched and flicked to vibrate at an exact frequency.
Including me, there were a total of 9 people, but only 7 people responded.
They must have moved from their position, or…
With this in mind, Yun Yi’s fingers quickly flicked the wires to send his information as well.
Suddenly, one of the wires snapped.

Yun Yi’s expression jerked a bit before swiftly sending this information to the others.
After determining a new strategy, Yun Yi raised his right arm. A barrel on the back of his hand opened and shot a metal sphere into the sky using Cede as thrust.
…
Away from the combat zone, an observer of the group that had been stationed outside was watching the black aura with a pair of binoculars. He quickly noticed the metal sphere being shot out of the aura, which started to unravel itself and released a kind of gas that turned pink after coming into contact with the air.
“Commander, code Red!”
“Understood” the Celestials’ commander quickly gave out the order: “Center position, prepare to fire!”
The large artillery cannon that had been set up early immediately entered intricate aiming mode, a specially-made ammunition that was engraved full of glowing Cede runes was loaded into the barrel.
…
Inside the disaster aura, the Nanwu Shaman turned into an unseen streak of light and approached a Celestial from his side.
She moved extremely quickly and caused no disturbances within the disaster aura, so the Celestial didn’t notice her at all and only kept up his defenses instinctively as a featureless white shadow around his body, which was most likely his Totem.
The Nanwu Shaman giggled, then charged straight in with disaster aura surrounding her entire body. Her hand clad in black aura appeared almost like a gigantic claw of a beast.
At the very instant that the black aura shifted, the white shadow seemed to have noticed the issue. Its featureless face suddenly split up in the middle and jumped out almost like a snake shedding its skin. The ‘skin’ of the white shadow then turned into an invisible wave that spread into their surroundings.
The Nanwu Shaman felt like she was stuck in mud, struggling to move forward even with all her strength, even gradually slowing down.
The object that leapt out of the white shadow seemed to be able to track the Nanwu Shaman and jumped forward to attack her. Its incorporeal body slowly solidified, first as a bloody figure in the disaster aura, then gradually gained skin, and eventually turned into a fairy clad in thin satin.

After the invisible fluctuations expanded to a certain degree, it began to recede, which caused the Nanwu Shaman to feel the restraining force becoming even stronger, while the fairy charging at her also began to draw a sword from the fluctuations.
Once the fluctuations have been drawn back all the way, the sword in that fairy’s hand would also reach its strongest.
The Nanwu Shaman instinctively understood this.
My first reaction after being restrained would be to struggle, and it was this struggle that would have caused the fluctuations to spread further, which would in turn result in a stronger sword.
In other words, he was using both his power as well as the restrained individual’s power to influence the surroundings, turning this influence into power to attack the restrained individual in return.
『 I really can’t underestimate any of these people. If I’m not careful, even I would be at risk of dying 』the Nanwu Shaman told herself. If she had noticed this a bit too late or struggled a bit too much earlier, then the current attack would certainly hurt her.
『 Unfortunately… 』
As the sword plunged through the Nanwu Shaman’s body, her small figure instantly exploded into a mass of black fog.
The white shadow Celestial didn’t let down his guard at all and quickly recalled the white shadow towards himself. However, a slightly warm hand had already pressed on the top of his head.
Like squishing a watermelon, the sides of his head exploded as her hand pressed down, causing the blood and flesh to splatter everywhere.
From the black aura, the Nanwu Shaman emerged once again. After converting herself into a superior life form, she had obtained this ability from worshipping the Lord of Disaster, [Disaster Transformation]. As long as her disaster consciousness wasn’t destroyed, and as long as disasters continued to spread, most attacks would only be able to break her into disaster aura, after which she would be able to reconstruct herself without practically losing anything.
The Nanwu Shaman scowled as a metal cone shot towards her and landed where the white shadow Celestial stood before.
Through the aura, the Nanwu Shaman noticed Yun Yi’s little gesture and smirked, her figure swiftly moved towards Yun Yi again, casually cutting off one of the metal wires using a blade she manifested from disaster aura. The black aura then surged to pierce through a Totem and stabbed a Celestial standing between her and Yun Yi to death.
The Nanwu Shaman’s blade turned back into a black aura right away, but the organs of the Celestial in front of her had already been completely crushed.
『 Hm? 』the Nanwu Shaman continued to attack Yun Yi, only to sense that he had shot something into the sky, then saw him pressing his hand on the ground. The front of his right arm’s gauntlet turned into a drill that bore a large hole into the ashen ground and pulled him inside, after which the gauntlet expanded to cover his entire body in layers of energy barriers.
The remaining 6 people also initiated their stronger defensive measures, only 1 Celestial that they couldn’t contact was using his speed to run outside of the black aura.
Another projectile was shot from the distance, the runes engraved on it were activating one by one, which started stimulating everything around it. By the time it entered the Nanwu Shaman’s range of perception, she could already sense an immense fluctuation of Cede radiating from it.
There was a loud sound of impact, followed by absolute silence. The blinding white light swiftly tore through the black aura, making it seem like everything was being enveloped in this explosion.
The absolute silence didn’t last for too long. The troops stationed outside put on their specially-made visors to observe the situation inside among the drifting ash.

But the angry ghost trapped inside the blade has other ideas. Buckle up for the brutal LitRPG ride of a lifetime Savage Hunters is an alternate-world neolothic fantasy. Characters grow their powers with explicit stat blocks presented right in the text, including levels, attribute scores, and unlockable skill trees. Experience is accumulated by battling enormous monsters the size of buildings. Political intrigue and romance elements ramp up as the series progresses. I originally wrote this story after playing Monster Hunter with my niece. She was 12 at the time, already an avid reader, and wanted to read my other published books. I'm a licensed psychotherapist specializing in severe trauma so I tend toward darker fiction. I told her my usual books are too brutal for her but I'd write her something special. The result was this series, which has been praised by both teens and adults for its depth and universal appeal. It begins with an emphasis on cultural elements because I consulted with a trained anthropologist to craft this neolithic setting down to exacting social detail. After these opening chapters, it rapidly shifts to an action-packed adventure. The first 3 books are fully written as of November 2020, totalling approximately 69 chapters. The first book has been professionally edited already. The following two books require some editing which I'll do on a chapter-by-chapter basis as releases progress. I welcome reviews and comments. Writing is a passion, and reader engagement makes my labor all the sweeter.

The Bronze Players of Recreation
The world of Creation has seen a recent explosion of what can only be called an adventurer’s culture over the past few decades. People who were once looked at as nothing more than lower class mercenaries rose to the ranks of heroes and legends as adventuring became recognized as an idealized lifestyle of overcoming hardship and finding triumph. With the establishment of a guild-based government system on the continent of Terramania, adventurers were soon legitimized and adventuring became a phenomenon universally accepted around the world. Redlette had retreated from this world to live on Earth for the remainder of her years, having been born and outcast by the gods of Creation. However, upon meeting a friend that she treasured dearly, she found herself longing for a return to her world—she wanted to experience it properly and go on adventures with someone whom she holds dear. Putting a plan into action, she meets with her friend, an awkward, nerdy boy by the username of Herring who she’d only known through years of playing online games with him, and invites him to go on this fantastic adventure with her. An adventure in another world had always been an impossible dream for Herring, but when he suddenly found himself with the opportunity to embark on one, he knew it wouldn’t be as simple as books and shows made it out to be. Redlette was notorious for rushing into things without thinking them through, and he was flighty and weak. In the games they played together, they rarely grasped victory. They were losers through and through, both in hobby and life. Despite this, though, he takes the leap and sets off with Redlette into the world of Creation. Together they only had one goal: to have fun and go on the adventure of their lives. This time, they’d establish a guild of their own and be free to take on whatever exploits their hearts desired. This is the story of the founding of their guild. Author’s Notes: -My writing style is largely based off of the absurd amount of light novels I’ve read and anime I’ve watched, so it may come off as cartoonish or exaggerative at times. If that isn’t your thing, I’d steer clear of this story.-Not an MMO story.-No numerical stats.-Relatively slow pacing.-Posts are between 2000-5000 words weekly after Chapter 1.
