This depicts Monika's remorse, especially after becoming a full fledged goddess of love and life, of her actions to bring Slade back. Especially the death of the king. Her eyes are lifeless, and she pulls the blade from her breasts, indicating that sword is coming from her heart, from her need to save Slade. You'll note the rose on the blade, Slade's symbol. She is also clad in black, mourning the loss of life, and her innocence as well.
