Chapter 564
Has Popovich figured out a plan?
No.
Two days later, the second game was at the Staple Center in Los Angeles.
Chen Huan had 51 points, 12 assists, 15 rebounds, 25 steals, 13 blocks to help the Lakers defeat the Spurs once again with a score of 122:103 to put the Lakers up to 2 games to none.
Popovich and the team knew at that time that it wouldn’t work if they didn’t make any drastic changes.
It would not work if they only hit Chen Huan.
Ginobili had 6 fouls and Duncan had 5 fouls in the second game.
And this time, Ginobili fouled out the second quarter otherwise Duncan wouldn’t have gotten so many fouls.
But one would know by watching the stat sheet that Duncan couldn’t stop Chen Huan from scoring.
Duncan had to let go of more than half of his duty on offense due to the energy he spent on Chen Huan.
Chen Huan had three of his shots blocked by Duncan, which could let out some of his frustration.
Without Duncan, there was no way for Kawhi and Aldridge to fully carry the Spurs offense.
The Lakers’ Louis Williams, Roy Hibbert and Clarkson may not be much help on offense but they could give their full energy on defense.
As long as they could bother the two players’ path, they could break the Spurs’ rhythm.
It was different for the Spurs’ defense as it was impossible for them to have Ginobili or Duncan off Chen Huan to defend other players.
Even if those people were Kobe and Iverson.
But because they were Kobe and Iverson, they were still great on offense and terrorized the other players on the Spurs.
Honestly, the Lakers just had a Chen Huan on the Spurs.
Without Chen Huan, the Lakers basically couldn’t do anything to the Spurs.
However, Chen Huan played fairly and just used his strength to bypass his defenders.

Even if Ginobili tried to stop him with his various sneaky actions, Chen Huan would counter back with even sneakier dirty moves that made the referees unable to see through unless they watched the replay.
But this level of confrontation was normal and it wouldn’t be the NBA if there wasn’t any small fouling going on.
The referee generally didn’t care as long as it wasn’t malicious moves or something that would cause an injury.
Not to mention that Chen Huan was never the one that sought to foul and it was just him retaliating when Ginobili wanted to act against Chen Huan.
Since there was no normal way to take Chen Huan out of the game, what did underhanded mean?
Even Popovich didn’t dare to do so.
He just had to remember what happened to the Blazers.
As long as they maliciously hurt Chen Huan and that they didn’t directly incapacitated him, then he would have to worry about all of his players being sent to the hospital.
With Chen Huan’s strength, it wouldn’t just be an injury that would heal in a month or two.
Maybe they wouldn’t even be able to play ball anymore.
Popovich would dare to take that risk or lose his reputation.
As the best coach in the NBA, wouldn’t this ruin his reputation that he built up in his entire life if he used that method to try to win?
Fortunately, they would rest for three days.
The third game wouldn’t start until later, which gave the Spurs some respite.
…
Chen Huan didn’t know what they were trying to do as in the third game, Ginobili, who always stuck to him like glue, didn’t follow after him this time.
Duncan was always underneath the basket to prevent his run.
But without Ginobili, the 40 years old couldn’t defend against Chen Huan as well.
As long as Chen Huan spun around or did some hesi, he could shake Duncan away before jumping up high to easily lay the ball into the basket.

The next game while they still had the energy, they contributed to the offense.
Duncan actually took the job of Ginobili in guarding Chen Huan and also did pick-and-roll for his teammate.
But even Barkley shook his head and exclaimed, “If Tim continues to do this, he won’t be able to last more than 6 minute in a quarter before he has to rest.”
However, something happened six minutes into the game.
The Spurs missed their shot and Chen Huan grabbed the rebound before throwing the ball to Kobe who was running at his left.
Kobe took the ball before it touched the ground and there was only Duncan who was running back on defense and was ahead of him.
Kobe ran all the way to the other court with Iverson following after him.
But just as he ran forward, Ginobili seemed to inadvertently lift his elbow while Iverson passed by him.
Because Iverson was shorter than him, he took it right into his face.
“Argh!”
Iverson immediately fell to the ground as he covered his face with both of his hands.
A clear stream of blood was flowing out of his hands.
The referee immediately blew his whistle.
Shit!
Kobe stopped the offense and threw the ball away as he rushed toward Ginobili.
The Spurs player also rushed over to stop Kobe.
“What is this? What did you do to him? Are you trying to kill someone? You bastard!”
Kobe was being restrained and couldn’t get out so he yelled at Ginobili.
Ginobili looked terrified and spread his arms to express he didn’t know what was going on.
Anyways, it was impossible for him to do anything more under the scrutiny of everyone.
Moreover, this was Kobe and if he hurt other superstars, the fans probably wouldn’t let him leave this stadium alive.
However, Chen Huan saw everything clearly as the moment passed by Ginobili, he stopped and lifted his elbow.
This proved it was deliberate action.
Intentionally hurting his friend?
These people were too dirty!
Fouling in basketball was normal but with malicious intent, did they think he wasn’t there?
Chen Huan was angry.
He happened to be next to the bench and the chairs were empty.
Chen Huan thought for a while before he grabbed a chair and walked toward Ginobili.
Chen Huan was worried he would kill him barehanded and it was better to use a weapon in a fight so he could better control his strength and avoid major trouble.
Ginobili saw Chen Huan’s action and his eyes widened as he thought, this guy isn’t thinking of hitting me with a chair, right?
Ginobili trembled when he thought of the strength of Chen Huan.
His heart nearly exploded the next moment.
Because Ginobili and the other people saw Chen Huan raise the chair up as he walked and pulled the both sides of the chair.
*Crack!*
The chair made of steel was easily torn into two parts by Chen Huan.
A person that wanted to rush over to grab the chair from Chen Huan was instantly nailed in place.
What the fuck!?
Do you have to go this far?
Do you have to be so fierce?
Are you shooting a movie or what?
Chen Huan did it like he was tearing a piece of paper!
He didn’t even make it look hard as if it was a piece of paper in Chen Huan’s hands.
Chen Huan carried the two pieces like a warrior would with two blades.
Ginobili couldn’t help but tremble when he saw the feat of strength shown by Chen Huan.
What did he plan to do?
Did he plan to kill me with the chair?
