I Was Caught up in a Hero Summoning, but That World Is at Peace Chapter 982

Chapter 975: White God Festival ②
When we left Chronois-san’s temple and reached the lower level…… There were a lot of people as we expected.
[……This feels as densely populated as the temple when I received my blessing back then.]
[Right. However, compared to the Six Kings Festival, which was only for invited guests, and the Festival of Heroes, which lasted an entire month, I think this is more festival-like to have this many people here.]
[Ahh~~ I guess you’re right.]
Aoi-chan reacted to the words I unintentionally muttered. This certainly feels more like a festival. Besides, even though there certainly were a lot of people, it wasn’t to the point where it’s impossible to move around.
Well, there are still some people waiting at the gates, so these numbers would still increase……
[Master, should we head to the middle level immediately?]
[Hmmm, I think the lower level will be more crowded in the future, so wouldn’t it be better for us if we look around the lower-level first and then go to the middle-level? I’ve heard that they limit the number of people in the middle-level to some extent, but they even provided us a guide, so I don’t think it’s impossible for us to get in.]
While answering Anima’s question, I looked at everyone’s faces, but it doesn’t seem like anyone objects to my opinion…… my earlier thoughts.
[I mean, we’re leisurely in that respect, aren’t we? We don’t have to worry about being trapped by restrictions since we have Kaito-senpai.]
[Indeed, we’re leisurely about that…… but we’re going to meet God of Sky-sama in the middle level, right…… It’s not every day you get the chance to meet a High-ranking God.]
[Milady, it’s too late to say that. I mean, isn’t it better that you know about this beforehand?]

While we were talking about this, it looked like we could all move together for the time being, so all of us walked along together. I’ve also thought of this back in the Sacred Tree Festival, but Hina-chan seemed to like festivals a lot as she was quite excited.
As Aoi-chan wryly smiled as she stopped Hina-chan, who looked like she’s about to head for a food stall, I slightly moved my gaze to the side.
The lower-level was lined with a variety of stalls, some of which can be opened upon applications. Some of the stalls were standard to festivals, while some were not……
[Ahh, look over there! That Danish taiyaki there looks delicious, doesn’t it?]
[……Taiyaki huh. As expected of a big festival, they even had some unusual stalls.]
[ [ [ Eh? ] ] ]
Hina-chan seemed to have found a Danish taiyaki stall. As I was thinking that they certainly look delicious, Sieg-san suddenly muttered something that made Aoi-chan, Hina-chan and I all tilt our heads.
From the way Sieg-san was talking now, it seemed like rather than Daiyaki taiyaki, she thinks that taiyaki itself was unusual.
[……Sieg-san, are taiyakis unusual?]
[Eh? Yes, you can find them only at big festivals like the Festival of Heroes.]
[It’s so minor that I almost never saw it at festivals of the scale of the Sacred Tree Festival we went to before.]
After Sieg-san explained while tilting her head, Luna-san gave additional information. Hmmm, I wonder if this is a cultural difference? Taiyaki is popular among us otherworlders after all.
Well, I have mixed feelings in regards to how often they’re sold at festivals…… but come to think of it, I don’t remember seeing any taiyaki stalls in the city. I do remember seeing a takoyaki stall in the Hydra Kingdom though.

[……Incidentally, just out of curiosity, but what’s the most popular food stall for festivals in this world?]
[Baby castellas, I suppose.]
[……Could that possibly have something to do with Kuro?]
[I guess…… Underworld King-sama is a very popular person, and her fondness for baby castellas is widely known.]
When Lilia-san mentioned baby castellas, there’s only one person that immediately popped into my mind. I see, indeed, if one of the pinnacle of the Demon Realm, Kuro, whose hobby is eating while walking, likes it…… baby castellas would certainly become the fad.
No wonder I see them so often…… But in that case, perhaps, that 6th Day of the Six Kings Festival, a day littered with baby castella stalls everywhere, isn’t actually just a gag and was probably a rather possible sight.
[Since we’re at it, would you like to try some?]
[Why not? I don’t get a chance to eat taiyaki very often, and this is my first time eating a Danish taiyaki, so I’m looking forward to it.]
As I suggested that we stop thinking about that for the time being and just eat one, Lilia-san nodded with a smile.
[Well then, I will……]
[Ahh, Anima, I’ll go with you.]
The thoughtful Anima was going to quickly represent our group and buy it, but since there were so many of us, I thought it would be hard for her to do it alone, so I decided to go with her.
It looks like they had both red bean paste and custard flavors, so buying equal amounts of both flavors, I paid for them and left the stall to return to the others.
On the way back though, Anima unexpectedly muttered to me.
[……Master, didn’t the stall owner earlier look a little like Vier-dono?]
[Ah~~ Speaking of which, they certainly had the same hair color and length, so if you look at her from a distance, indeed……]
When I turned around to check again, I saw that the woman who owns the Danish taiyaki stall had the same hair color as Dr. Vier, and even her stature looked the same.
Well, when I looked at her up close earlier, I can easily recognize that she isn’t Dr. Vier because their faces are different, but if you look at her from a distance, it wouldn’t be strange for others to get them mixed up.
……Arehh? Why do I feel like I heard something like this somewhere before? When was it again……
Serious-senpai : [I never thought that Vier (temp) would make her reappearance.]
? ? ? : [No, she didn’t make a reappearance. That’s the first time that woman was mentioned……]

Storm
The Storm started six months ago, and no one knows where it came from. All they know is it hasn't stopped for a single day, and you better follow the one rule: Don't go out in the rain. Hiding in the broken building of her old high-school, seventeen-year-old Marylou is one of the few to have survived this far. She doesn't believe in the Ghosts -- shapeless creatures said to roam under the rain outside -- but, to be fair, she doesn't really believe in anything except booze and the unconditioned love of her ball python snake, Evil Noodle. Chance brings Marylou together with Amy, a mysterious girl with an even more mysterious past, and Dean and Ray, two young men running what they call 'the last pizza place in California'. As the Storm rages on stronger by the day, the foursome will have to make a choice: keep hiding under roof after roof, waiting for starvation, or set out to the road and face whatever hides out there, under the Storm.

Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]

Phantom Wings (pending rewrite)
Notice: A major rewrite is currently ongoing, all chapters shown currently are pre-rewrite. Two cities, closed behind walls, separated by an entire continent, are all that's left in an atomic war which has dragged on for decades. Fueled by hate, disagreements, misunderstandings, and stubbornness, the war wages on day after day. Caught in the crossfire, two teams of fighter pilots of opposing sides come together, with a hope to discover what it means to truly be human, and to end the war for good. This is their story. A story of war, of discovery, and of rebellion. This story (this arc, at least) is now complete. No promises for a sequel yet.
