“Tsk, you guys are really pathetic!” Yi Tianyun said as he gently waved his palm towards the guards. His attack instantly killed the guards, but he didn’t get punished as it was just self-defense. The Flame Imprint on the guard’s arms was immediately catapulted towards Yi Tianyun, further increasing his own Flame Imprint.
“Interesting! I don’t know how you find out about our true identity, but you are going to die!” City Lord Qin Sheng coldly said as he walked down his throne and pulled out a giant axe. Yi Tianyun saw that Qin Sheng had 4 Flame Imprints on his arms, meaning that he was powerful enough to go to the 4th Layer City, but chose to stay here and took the City Lord position as his own.

Nevertheless, Qin Sheng was only at the 6th Layer Void Spirit Stage! He was certainly powerful compared to the average cultivation level on the 3rd Layer City. But still, it didn’t matter against Yi Tianyun! But then again, Yi Tianyun couldn’t attack first as he was still bound by the Ancient Netherworld Divine Tower’s rule.
But clearly, Qin Sheng was too furious to think rationally as he suddenly charged towards Yi Tianyun. The Flame Imprint on his arms suddenly shone, doubling his power as he attacked Yi Tianyun. Because of his status as the City Lord, he could use the Flame Imprint to increase his power.
“You are dead meat, human! Now, become our food!” Qin Sheng shouted as he smashed his axe towards Yi Tianyun’s direction, and Netherworld’s Fire burst out of the axe, freezing everything on its path!
Yi Tianyun neither dodged nor did anything as he just stared at Qin Sheng with a bored look on his face. Qin Sheng didn’t really saw Yi Tianyun move, so he thought that Yi Tianyun must have been frozen, so he attacked once more.
But as soon as Qin Sheng got close enough, he was startled as his axe was stopped! Amidst the ice that froze the air around him, Yi Tianyun wasn’t affected at all! In fact, Yi Tianyun held the axe’s blade like it was nothing. He didn’t even bother to move from his position!
“How did you attain this much power at such a young age?” Qin Sheng asked confusedly as he truly didn’t expect a man at Yi Tianyun age would be able to stop him like this. he tried to push the axe to cut the young man’s hand, but it didn’t even budge!
“City Lord Qin Sheng! There is an absurdly strong human rushing from the bottom! He already crushed our patrol! From the way it sounds, his cultivation was way above Void Spirit Stage! But surely, he would taste very great once we got our hands on him!” an Evil Spirit Race Guard reported as he walked slowly to the Throne Room. But as he saw what happened inside the Throne Room, he was startled as he didn’t expect the human he mentioned was already inside Qin Sheng’s Throne Room.

“It’s him! he was the man that killed our Patrol earlier!” The guard shouted as he held Yi Tianyun’s poster to make sure he was looking at the right guy. However, he was too late! Qin Sheng has already attacked him, meaning Yi Tianyun was free to retaliate. Once Qin Sheng attacked, the duel commenced, and it wouldn’t end until either side lost their lives or gave up!
“What was it? I will become your food? Wow, I wonder how a weakling thrash like you can ever beat me!” Yi Tianyun said tauntingly. He then slammed the Giant Axe that Qin Sheng was holding to the ground, dragging Qin Sheng along with it. “Now, it seems that you’re the one that will be the prey!” Yi Tianyun said as he held the axe up again and swung it towards Qin Sheng.
Qin Sheng immediately transformed back to his Evil Spirit Race form and tried to defend himself by extending his extra arms to block the axe, but unfortunately for him, his speed and defence were not enough to block Yi Tianyun’s attack!
The axe cut through Qin Sheng’s arms before going right through his head!

Yi Tianyun didn’t care about the reward he got from killing Qin Sheng as the only important thing for him right now was the Flame Imprint! The Flame Imprint on his Arms burned intensely as Qin Sheng’s Flame Imprint integrated itself into Yi Tianyun’s arms. Now, he would only need one more Flame Imprint to upgrade his Flame Imprint to the 4th Flame Imprint!
Yi Tianyun also noticed that a blue ring emerged around the Flame imprint, and Yi Tianyun realised that it had to be the mark of the 3rd Layer City Lord!

Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do.
