The Summoner is Going Chapter 159 part2
Translation: Charlotte
Editor: Weasalopes
There was a gap between the walls.
Volff tried to escape through that gap, and barely made it with spears following him.
『Double Stab!』
『Double Stab!』
That was close!
It was like an instant fort.
Due to the small size of the arena, the gap between the walls was the only way through.
It was a well thought-out strategy.
I heard the sound of a spell cast from the other side of the wall.
Like I would let you!
I steeled myself and charged in.
Where?
Into the wall of fire.
Rig had a resistance to fire.
That didn’t mean that the fire would do no damage…
But Rig absorbed a good portion of the damage.
I got through the wall of fire and saw the faces of the enemy team on the other side.
They weren’t paying attention to me.
「Vibration!」
I used my weapon arte at close range.
Everyone on the enemy team was casting spells.
My skill was resisted by only one of them.
Next.
I selected and started casting my own spell.
Then, I attacked from the side of the spear fighter in front of me.
I changed up my stance.
I charged in with my staff in the air.
It felt right to shout something too, but I didn’t.
I was busy casting a spell.
I swung my staff at the Fighter in front of me.
It bounced off of him and hit him strong in the face.
I swept him off his feet and let down Rig.
Rig would take care of the rest.
Paralysis would be good.
Suffocation would be good.
Just getting inside would be good too.
I kept going and ran at the Sorcerers in the back.
But a spearhead pulled my staff from my hands.
Damn!
I was definitely had there.
I looked at the Fighter…
And quickly realised I didn’t have to do anything.
Senki suddenly blew him away from his side.
Jericho slid about on the ground.
Volff and Goki were all caught up too.
Nice.
I’ll leave him to you guys.
「Volcanic Blast!」
There was one more fighter in front of me.
I hit him and the three rear guard players behind him with an area-of-effect spell.

But I was sure that wouldn’t be enough.
I pulled out the tonfas on my back and held them in both hands.
Great.
Who wants to go first?
「Twin shot!」
「Crushing Blow!」
Weapon Artes came one after the other.
They were pretty annoying to deal with.
I got grazed by the mace, and my spell casting process got cancelled.
Oh, you’ve done it now…
I saw Volff pulling at the Treasure Hunter’s leg in the back.
Goki and Jericho were already behind Volff.
Oh.
I guess I only had to deal with the Fighter in front of me.
Why not?
Good.
Let’s have some fun.
『Shield Rush!』
Woah.
I got scratched by the edge of the shield… I think?
I didn’t have the freedom to check my own HP bar.
『Skull Splitter!』
More Weapon Artes, huh.
The mace swung downwards, threatening to crush my head.
It just grazed me.
My tonfas took a hard hit, but they still looked solid.
His shield was in the way of my attacks.
No… My opponent was just that good.
I dodged the mace that was flying at me from the side.
I immediately stabbed him with a tonfa.
He blocked with his shield.
I took the opportunity and grabbed the edge of the shield.
And jumped.
I did a flip…
And landed.
I managed to make it behind my opponent.
But his reaction time was good.
It was like he already knew where I was going to be.
He not only turned around, but used the momentum to swing his mace too.
I kicked his knee.
Then rammed myself into his chest.
I heard the whistling sound of the mace passing overhead.
I used my right arm and the tonfa I was holding to push myself up.
Then I used my left tonfa to strike the back of his head.
I also attacked with my left and right elbow as follow-up attacks.
Of course, all while holding on to my tonfas.
The Fighter’s HP bar was still at 40%, but he fell over and stopped moving.
Did I manage to get a critical hit in?
I took a moment to check out my surroundings.
Looked like the other players were already done for.

I couldn’t see the two Sorcerers or the Treasure Hunter.
What about the Fighters with spears?
It looked like they were still struggling.
Wow…
I was especially impressed with the Fighter I left to Rig.
But without any weapons, it was only a matter of time.
The other fighter was up against Senki.
The Fighter’s HP bar was about to disappear too.
It looked like Senki had some difficulty in the beginning, but he made it through.
One last blow to the head, and the Fighter was no more.
It was just Rig’s opponent now.
I had no complaints with Rig extending the fight.
But I still told Volff, Jericho, and Goki to help out.
Call it mercy.
《Match Set! Please stop fighting!》
《【Acrobatics】Level Up!》
《【Dual Wield】Level Up!》
《【Jump】Level Up!》
The enemy team lined up at the other corner.
We bowed at one another.
I somehow managed to win the last match of the qualifiers with my usual strategy.
《Congratulations! You have advanced to the main tournament! The first round of the main tournament is scheduled for 9:00 am tomorrow, at the new training ground B.》
《You have received 2 Bonus Points for clearing the qualifiers. You currently have a total of 26 Bonus Points.》
《All main tournament contestants must report to the new training grounds before 8:00 am tomorrow.》
The end of the qualifiers, huh.
Yep.
I only played in two out of three matches, but I still enjoyed it.
Thinking about it further, the last team was pretty crafty too.
I just happened to make it through because I had Rig.
If I tried something as reckless as charging through a wall of fire without Rig, I would’ve taken a lot of damage.
What a coincidence…
I saw Adele waving at me from the spectator seats.
Muret landed on my shoulder.
『Good work out there.』
『Congrats!』
Adele and Irina congratulated me using【Telepathy】.
『Thanks.』
『We’ll be waiting here.』
『Yosaku ‘s game is about to start~』
Oh!
That was a match I couldn’t miss.
After having a staff member fully heal my HP and MP, I went to meet Adele and Irina.
With Muret guiding the way, I found them pretty quickly.
Adele found a better place to sit.
The next matches were already starting.
「Over here!」
「The matches have already begun~」
Woah.
The first thing I saw when I looked at the arena was Shinonome blowing away one of the enemy fighters.
Yosaku soon did the same.
Amazing…
It wasn’t like Yosaku and Shinonome got through the front line unscathed.
But it was like they didn’t care about how much damage they took.
「What’s going on?」
「The other team is using【Fire Wall】a lot… But Yosaku’s team still managed to break through.」
「How manly~」
Oh?
Margrid was there watching the matches too.
I kept watching the match.
Hannes took an attack spell and a rain of arrows, and was taken out.
Immediately after that, Yosaku rushed into the back.
Both Yosaku and the enemy team did a lot of damage to each other.
Even with two players taken out, Yosaku’s team managed to snag another victory.
Yep.
As expected, the teams got better the later in the tournament.
「I heard you won? Congrats.」
「Well, somehow.」
「I want to take care of some equipment… But for now I guess I’ll watch some more matches.」
「Yeah, alright.」
Volff sat down next to Margrid.
I swapped all my Summon Monsters except for Volff, and took the spot next to Volff.
The matches proceeded at an amazing rate.
There were five arenas, and one of them had already finished up for the day.
The number of spectators was beginning to run thin.
