Chapter 1230: Chapter 1230 – The Tournament Begins
Chapter 1230: The Tournament Begins
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
“Of course, we’ve set up two ways to prevent anyone from taking advantage of someone else. Whosoever obtains the plate and holds it for more than three minutes will also have the right to obtain Heavenly Saber Song Que’s legacy. Also, if they manage to bring the plate to the sect master while it is in a perfect condition, they will also be able to get Heavenly Saber Song Que’s legacy.”
The rules of the tournament caught them by surprise.
Many of the people who came to watch originally thought that they could watch multiple fierce fights, but by the looks of it now, it was clear that they could not have that wish fulfilled.
But since the rules were made to target the people attending the tournament, the set up made it so that most of the candidates who had the most likely chances of winning might not have such a high chance of winning anymore. It seemed like as long as they used their heads well and seized the correct timing, everything was possible!
“This is a good chance.”
A few of the Lovely Land members who managed to get into the tournament had a pretty good relationship. When they heard this, their eyes burned in ardor, and they calmly started sending messages to each other.
“It’s not one-on-one fights! That’s great!”
“This is a good chance. If we can’t persevere, we’ll be letting down the sect master after all the trouble he went through for this… Haha…”
Below the tower, three supreme-class elites who were very close to each other sent private messages to each other. Once they agreed upon who would get Heavenly Saber Song Que’s legacy, unprecedented confidence shone in their eyes.
There was another group who shared a good relationship, and it was Silver Wolf and his party..
After these four people returned from the desert with Happy, they used the top-grade contribution rewards Happy gave them to get one high-grade divine weapon as well as a whole set of demon vessels from the sect storage. With their extraordinary skills, they also managed to gain a footing during the pre-tournament spars.
When they heard Ji Feng announce the rules of the tournament, the four of them simply could not believe that it was true.
No matter what, it looked like Happy had deliberately prepared this tournament for them.
But once Silver Wolf calmed down and thought about it, he noticed that there were quite a number of people like them. This time, practically everyone from among the one hundred best elites who joined the tournament had friends with them. Some of them even forged fire-forged friendships after fighting with each other. They might not be the only ones who had the chance to seize Heavenly Saber Song Que’s legacy by relying on teamwork.
However, the people who were acknowledged by a lot of people to have the greatest chance of revealing their strength and obtaining Heavenly Saber Song Que’s legacy—Wind Void, Orochimaru, and Whirlwind Young Li—were now surrounded by danger.
Wind Void was a prideful and aloof person. She only focused on reaching the peak of her personal strength. Even though she was stronger than the normal supreme-class elite, this rule immediately isolated her. She became alone, and the situation was incredibly bad for her.

In the beginning, Wind Void found this very distasteful…
When she glared at the stage where the hosts were, she was just in time to see a person from the center stare at her. By his side was also someone looking at him, and that person looked rather worried.
‘Lin Xiao?!’
She shuddered. The things that had once happened to Chivalry Sect, their past glory, their break down, and Wind Void’s solitude instantly went through her mind.
At that moment, Wind Void seemed to have understood something.
Personal relationships…
After she joined the sect, her aloof and solitary personality made her unable to mix with the crowd. It was precisely because of this reason that she was set up by Class One Hall, causing Chivalry Sect to break down in the end. She was responsible for it.
“…I see.”
Wind Void instantly understood the true meaning behind the tournament. Faint regret and understanding flashed in her eyes. She looked away and directed her gaze downward.
The other person who was isolated was Orochimaru.
Orochimaru had always been someone who was eccentric and ruthless. He had a gloomy personality, and he would do anything to achieve his goal!
Even after he joined Lovely Land, he never got closer to anyone or made any friends. Right now, when he learned of the rules for the tournament, his first reaction was to frown.
But he did not think that this was because the sect master and vice sect master of Lovely Land were trying to make things hard for him.
He turned his head around to cast a glance at Wind Void. Wind Void reacted the same way as he did.
“What is Happy doing?”
Orochimaru stared at the stage where the hosts were with a gloomy look, and he sank into deep thought.
Whirlwind Young Li was a fighting maniac. Recently, he obtained two ultimate techniques—Shifting Stars and Star Sucking Great Skill. Hence, all his attention had been on them.
When he heard this, he was the only one who did not feel isolated.
On the contrary, he felt that Happy had fixed his gaze on him, and a wave of warmth as well as great confidence flowed in his chest.
Because Shifting Stars and Star Sucking Great Skill were both skills that allowed the user to not be afraid of group fights and not be afraid of wars of attrition that would last for a long time. Besides, his goal this time was not Heavenly Saber Song Que’s legacy.
Whirlwind Young Li’s thoughts were very simple.
He just wanted to prove himself and let Happy know that he had never let down Happy’s expectations and hopes on him.
When he thought of this, Whirlwind Young Li secretly clenched his fists. He looked at the magnificent tournament area and the strange as well as dangerou-looking tower.
‘Sect Master, I won’t make you disappointed! I will definitely take the first place for the tournament!’
His eyes gradually shone with fervent ardor.
Whoosh!
Under the people’s gazes, Happy suddenly jumped up from the stage for the hosts.
Countless people’s gazes were trained on Happy, who was dressed in white robes.
The tower had dozens of floors to it, and it was more than 325 feet tall. It was also nearly 984 long, making it look really grand and huge. Even Happy needed half a minute before he reached the top of the tower as he jumped. He landed on the huge marble stone that was 164 feet long at all sides.

Many people looked up at him.
Regardless of the height of their seats, due to the slope on the pyramid, everyone in the tournament area could see Happy and the situation at the top of the tower.
Under countless people’s gazes, Happy calmly reached the center of the highest spot.
He brought out a golden plate from his Universe Bag.
Lovely Land!
There were two words carved on it.
Happy arrived at the center and stood still at the empty spot at the highest place of the pyramid. He opened the palm holding the golden plate.
“Ah!”
Quite a number of people watching this cried out in surprise, because the golden plate swiftly fell down after it lost its support.
But against everyone’s expectations, the golden plate had just fallen by two feet when it was immediately suspended by a gentle force.
It was as if an invisible hand had caught the golden plate.
The golden plate turned about slowly. As it was supported by the invisible strength, it slowly rose up and returned to the spot at the same level as Happy.
It never stopped in its ascent.
Everyone held their breaths and stared at the golden plate as it continued rising.
There was nothing underneath the golden plate, but it just slowly rose up at a speed and manner that defied all logic.
It only stopped moving when it was dozens of feet above the pyramid.
But the golden plate remained enveloped by an invisible force. Its entire body shone with a golden light as it spun around slowly, and it looked like a golden pearl that was fixed at the top of the pyramid.
“The plate has been put in place, and the tournament will now officially begin!”
Happy turned around and made this announcement.
Once he finished speaking, he arrived at the edge of the marble slab under hundreds of thousands of people’s eyes and jumped down without hesitation.
‘Huh?!’
Everyone was shocked by Happy’s insane move.
That pyramid was more than three hundred feet tall!
There was nothing that he could use as a foothold under him. If he jumped down just like that…
Even the people participating in the tournament were shocked by Happy’s sudden moves. They stared at the white lightning that was swiftly plunging down the sky.
But there were still a group of people who remained calm, and they managed to seize the opportunity.
When Happy finished his announcement, everyone was immersed in shock. During that time, dozens of people from all directions shot forward like arrows and rushed up the tower from the bottom.
This group of people did not believe that anything would happen to Happy.
One of it was due to rationality, and the other was due to their determination to win the tournament and their firm beliefs!
The power that instantly exploded forth from supreme-class elites was incredibly shocking!
They were like bolts of black lightning that quickly rushed up the magnificent airborne tower. They traveled up three steps with every step they took, and when they ran, they looked as if they were flying.
The people who remained in the area reacted to the situation, and they became nervous.
“Don’t even think about it!”
Wind Void, Orochimaru, Whirlwind Young Li, and the others all rushed up the tower.
The battle began!
To supreme-class elites, a distance of hundreds of feet was not actually long.
The suspension feature of the tower was very ingenious. When they reached the stairs for the tenth level, the stairs would begin to merge, and two people would need to share each flight of stairs.
Besides, any form of force that was imposed on the tower would cause the marble slabs to shake.
The degree of the tremors were affected by the strength the people used on the tower.
Many of the supreme-class elites, including Rampaging Dragon, soon noticed this.
At that moment, Rampaging Dragon suddenly noticed that the people traveling in front had swiftly begun to utilize this feature. When they used their next step to boost them forward, they also used hidden force!
Whoosh
Right when he was halfway through his jump, the person in front of him suddenly stomped down. At the same time that person shot forward, the marble slab under Rampaging Dragon’s feet started spinning quickly.
While the marble slab spun, Rampaging Dragon instantly lost the spot he used as a platform.
But that was not the only danger.
When the marble slabs spun, their vision was affected. At the same time, it caused their act of using the marble slabs as platforms to become incredibly dangerous, because the marble slabs would come charging at their faces.
This happened too suddenly. Rampaging Dragon froze, and he was sent flying back by the marble slab that came charging at him.
Bang!
He crashed at the marble slab below him.
The marble slab under him shuddered violently, and it no longer remained stable. Instead, it started tilting sideways swiftly.
‘No!’
Rampaging Dragon sensed that his body was quickly sliding to the edge as the marble slab tilted sideways, and he had nothing to use as a platform below him. There was nothing but air there.
If he fell, he would lose his right to compete!
In his haste, at the moment Rampaging Dragon was about to slide completely off the marble slab, he positioned his hand in the shape of claws and grabbed the marble slab, allowing his body to hang off the tilting marble slab. He just hung there quietly, and he was finally able to neutralize the danger.
The onlookers all released sighs of relief.
On the stage for the hosts, Phantasmal Shadow and Lin Xiao watched Happy as he returned from the air in a relaxed fashion. Their faces were full of shock and surprise.
When Happy flew to the top of the tower, he did not even cause the marble slabs to sway in the slightest, so all of them thought that the marble slabs were fixed in place.
Now, based on the ruckus the players caused, it made it clear that Happy’s lightness skill had reached the stage where he would not leave behind even a single footprint when he stepped on snow.
The group then thought of another question.
“If the marble slabs aren’t fixed in place, the situation will become even more complicated.”
“That’s right, when everyone is busy snatching the plate, their strengths will be gathered in one place, and the situation will become much more complicated. It will now depend on luck as to who will be able to get the plate in the end.”
Phantasmal Shadow and Lin Xiao sucked in sharp breaths.
“Luck?”
Happy smiled and said nothing.

But what good is a kingdom when there's a whole world of magic and mystery out there to explore? *** Ok! Disclaimer time. I do edit my own work and I do not have a beta reader, so please feel free to point out any errors or plot holes (politely, of course). Each chapter will be around 4,000 to 6,000 words long and while I was posting every day at the beginning, I think I'll cut that down to once a week for now, excluding bonus chapters! I really don't want to get burned out. I started writing this because I love world building, so this is gonna be heavy on lore. If you're not into that, there's still a ton of character progression and action to look forward to! It's going to be slow at the beginning, but I promise it will pick up eventually. Thanks for checking my story out, I appreciate it a lot!

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
