Chapter 1035: Second Realm, Becoming Proficient

[Full Winds in Long Skies: Lvl 0.00 (1st realm)
[When you activate Full Winds in Long Skies before you use any other martial art, you can deliver two attacks simultaneously. You will use 200 qi points every time you execute this skill! Cooldown time: 30 seconds
[When it reaches Lvl 99.99 and enters the highest state—seventh realm, you can execute eight attacks in an instant!] When he saw the description for Full Winds in Long Skies, Happy could not help but suck in a deep breath. He knew that he had picked up something valuable this time!
Originally, with his current strength, his advantages were only in his defense and crowd control.
Ten True Dragon Styles’ Dragon Capture could allow him to be in an invincible state among those who were at the same level as he was. In fact, he could even easily win against those who were at the same qi realm as he was.
Tendon Changing Classic had largely increased his recovery skill and defense, allowing Happy to be able to gain the potential of becoming a great tank to a certain extent.
When he activated his true origin aura, Happy could also have the ability to survive even when matchless elites like Empress Yin and Evil King attacked him at full force.
But when it came to offense and damage, Happy’s strength in that area was definitely not enough for him to be ranked among the top.
If it were not for the powerful effect in Happy’s Dragon Capture allowing him to instantly control his enemy, his Wave-like Subtle Steps allowing to immediately get close to his enemies, and his Recondite Steel Heavy Sword increasing the power in Great Demonic World Destruction Art, Happy’s damage would have always been in an incredibly awkward state.
He only had a normal Moksha Realm unique martial art manual.
Happy’s damage was already much weaker than an Inaction Realm unique martial art manual or a supreme martial art manual.
If it were not for Dragon Capture possessing absolute control and the strange and unfathomable movements in Wave-like Subtle Steps, Happy’s attack might have a hard time forming any threat to true top-class elites.
If Happy did not use the supreme block rate and heavy sword will in Recondite Steel Heavy Sword against an elite like One Emperor, it would be impossible for him to fight against Fate Thirteen Swords!
Offense had always been Happy’s greatest flaw and weakness, but now, the appearance of Full Winds in Long Skies had undoubtedly allowed Happy to see light.
Even though there was a thirty second cooldown time whenever he executed the skill, the unexpected two attacks in Full Winds in Long Swords could already be considered a game breaker.
And this was only its initial overlapping effect.
Happy remembered the damage from the sword will that shot out of the stone plate.
When those eight slashes had overlapped with each other… there was not even a need for Happy to go into detail about just how intimidating the damage had been.
Even if the damage in Great Demonic World Destruction Art was not up to forty thousand points, if it were overlapped eight times, even a matchless elite like Evil King would not be able to get out of it unscathed.

Fervent and excited delight appeared on Happy’s face, though he did not vocalize just how happy he was.
This Full Winds in Long Skies had temporarily covered up for the weakness in his lack of offense, and if he used it during critical moments, no one would be able to withstand his attack, which would contain the profound secret in Full Winds in Long Skies.
‘But two attacks doesn’t seem to be very powerful… I’ll have to think of a way to level up Full Winds in Long Skies and push it to the seventh realm, because it’s only at that time that I can deliver 8x damage. Even though it’s impossible for me to level it up to max level within a short period of time, before Evil King arrives in the Chinese server, I should have no problem in pushing it to the fourth or fifth realm.’
Happy redirected his gaze to the Myth Realm criminal in the cell.
The criminal shuddered, and he felt a feeling that something bad was about to happen.
And the criminal was right.
Last time, whenever he sparred against Happy, Happy would never fight back. He would just allow the criminal to attack, and this was already enough to make him feel incredibly dejected, because Happy was just like a cockroach who just would not die.
Right now, Happy had suddenly asked to spar against him.
No one would feel good when an immortal cockroach suddenly decided to counterattack.
Happy’s Recondite Steel Heavy Sword created a devastating crescent moon that was accompanied by a foul stench in the air. The powerful pressure instantly sucked away all the air around the Myth Realm criminal.
Right when Happy attacked, he executed one of the three strongest killing moves in Great Demonic World Destruction Art, and it was the one with the highest damage.
Even Shi Zhixuan would not be able to ignore this sort of attack, much less a martial artist who was just at the beginning stage of Myth Realm. When he saw how astonishing Happy’s offense was, his gaze focused. He grabbed at the air beside him with his left hand, and he flung his right hand violently outward like a whip. The qi contained in his swing surged out.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
A series of explosions swiftly rose in the air.
This was the sound that rose when a fist-generated wind quickly charged through the air. It would only appear when a person’s speed had surpassed a certain degree. The Myth Realm elite had decided to use a powerful move he had never used before right at the start of the attack.
However, Happy did not look surprised by it at all. Instead, he appeared to be slightly expectant.
The total damage in the Demon Kills All was nearly fifty thousand points, and it was already very close to the full-powered attack from a martial artist at the beginning stage of Myth Realm. With Full Winds in Long Skies, the power that instantly exploded forth was definitely not something a martial artist at the beginning stage of Myth Realm could receive. If he decided to be reckless, the situation would just be worse for him.
Now that this criminal had decided to fight at full strength, Happy could bring out the full power in Full Winds in Long Skies.
This was a head-on fight.
After the series of explosions in the air, the neverending remote palm strikes rapidly and frequently struck Recondite Steel Heavy Sword like crackling beans on a frying pan.

Before the sword glares that shot out could reach the Myth Realm elite, the neverending palm strikes had already destroyed.
There was quite a lot of power left in the palm strikes.
After they instantly destroyed the sword glares, the remaining palm force rammed against Happy without any obstruction.
Just when the Myth Realm martial artist had a smug look appear on his face, a barely audible whoosh suddenly rose in the air.
It was as if the gentle sound of willows swaying had risen beside his ears.
It was very strange, but calm.
The sound instantly became clear.
A sword glare that did not lose to the Demon Kills All just now effortlessly crushed the remaining fist-generated wind from the Myth Realm martial artist at an astonishing speed before it struck the criminal.
Even though a body fortification quickly shot out from his body, he still could not control himself from grunting. He took several steps back with loud thuds against the floor, and when he finally stood still, he stared at Happy like he was looking at a ghost.
‘The element of surprise in it is pretty good, but if I want to end a fight with just these two simultaneous attacks or fight against Evil Emperor with it, it won’t be possible!’
Happy made a judgment rationally.
However, this did not affect him in how highly he thought of Full Winds in Long Skies.
After all, it was just at Level 0.01 now. This skill was just at the first realm, and there was still great room for improvement for this ultimate skill. It was already very impressive that Happy could send a martial artist at the beginning stage of Myth Realm back in a head-on fight.
A pleasant smile curled up on his lips, and Happy resolutely called the other three Myth Realm elites into the same cell.
When thirty seconds passed, a white qi charged out of Happy’s body.
Full Winds in Long Skies!
Half an hour later, Happy became gloomy.
‘What the heck?! This is too slow…
‘I can only use Full Winds in Long Skies twice in one minute, and each time, I can only level it up by 0.01!
‘Even after half an hour, I’ve only pushed it to Level 0.6! This isn’t very becoming, is it?!’
Happy grumbled in his heart. This was the first time he ran into a martial art that was so difficult to train since Level 0.00. He had these three Myth Realm martial artists train with him for half an hour, but he still had not improved in the slightest. He was still far away from reaching the second realm. If he continued at this pace, it would be a miracle if he could reach the second realm by the end of the day.
Tomorrow would be the seventh day since Evil Emperor disappeared.
Happy discovered, much to his chagrin, that after training overnight, he finally managed to push his Full Winds in Long Skies to Level 10.00, but it was still stuck at the first realm. It was unlike other normal martial arts, where it would immediately reach the second realm once it reached Level 10.00.
‘…Are you seriously going to toy with me like that?’
But Happy soon admitted to his fate.
After all, Grandmaster Realm for Full Winds in Long Skies was at the seventh realm, which he could only reach at Level 99.99. He could not calculate its progress with the normal method.
On the third day, Happy discovered a truth that he could not accept.
On the third day of training, his Full Winds in Long Skies reached Level 15.00, and by then, he could no longer level up with each time he executed Full Winds in Long Skies. He had to execute it twice before he could increase it by 0.01, which meant that he could only level it up by 0.01 every minute. He had slowed down by one fold in his training for this skill.
Happy was already so dejected that he found that he could no longer say anything.
He originally thought that he would at most need four days to push Full Winds in Long Skies to the second realm, and on the day Evil Emperor arrived at the Chinese server, he could at least push Full Winds in Long Skies to the third realm!
But by the looks of it now, his original dream was clearly a little bit of a silly notion.
This was a martial art left behind by a martial artist who was One with the World. As expected, it was incredibly difficult to train!
Happy clenched his teeth together and continued to train hard gloomily. He remained alone in Wind Assault Tower’s headquarters and did not go out.
Finally, on the sixth day, Happy managed to push Full Winds in Long Skies to Level 20.00 after much mental suffering, and at last, just as he wanted all along, he heard the pleasant notification from the system telling him good news.
“Full Winds in Long Skies reached the second realm!”
Happy quickly summoned his martial arts log to check, and the description for Full Winds in Long Skies had indeed changed slightly.
[Full Winds in Long Skies: Lvl 20.00 (2nd realm)
[When you activate Full Winds in Long Skies before you use any other mastered martial art, you can deliver three attacks simultaneously. You will use 300 qi points every time you execute this skill! Cooldown time: 30 seconds
[When this skill reaches Lvl 99.99 and enters the highest state—seventh realm, you can execute eight attacks in an instant!]
Just as he expected, once Full Winds in Long Skies increased in realm, its power would increase by one fold. Now, he could execute three attacks in one go.
Happy happily executed the attack on a Myth Realm criminal immediately.
Right when the second attack sent the criminal back, a loud whoosh rose, and the criminal was struck viciously by the third attack. His chest caved in, and he crashed against the wall behind him. He stared at Happy in shock and fear.
The other two Myth Realm criminals watching by the side were also shocked. When they looked at Happy, there was wariness and respect in their eyes.
With just one move, he managed to injure a Myth Realm martial artist!
After training hard for one week, Happy finally released a sigh of relief, as if he had been relieved of a burden.
Full Winds in Long Skies at the second realm was finally presentable, and he could now at least bring it to the table!

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.
