From The Strongest Job of Dragon Knight, To The Beginner Job Carrier, Somehow, The Heroes are Depending on Me Volume 3 Chapter 26

Still kneeling on the ground, Sidonius turned around and shouted.
「Axel-dono and Daisy-dono. And everyone. So you came to us.」
「Yeah, we rushed here after hearing explosions and Moka’s shouts. But… What are they?」
Axel asked, looking at the purple beasts.
「Those are beasts of poison summoned by a majin…!」
Not waiting for them to finish their explanations two black tigers attacked.
「Be-be careful……! This is poison. Merely touching them will get you!」
To my shout, the heroes looked at each other and thenー
「Ah, really? Then we should just burn them.」
「If we shouldn’t touch them, then it’s our specialty.」
Berzelia and Daisy who stood in front each raised one hand.
「【Dragon Breath of Purgatory】」
「【Composition: Crushing Sphere from Earth】」
Next instant.
One beast burned down with fire flung by Berzelia.
And another one was squashed by a sphere formed from the earth.
「Wha… Such firepower……」
Saki replied to the surprised Sidonius.
「……For now, there is nothing for me to do, butー Axel, are you fine over there?」
She looked back.
There, Axel helped several people get back to their feet.
「No problem, you can focus on the enemy. …Can you guys move? I’d like to get injured out of the warehouse district while we can, think you can help?」
「This-this much we can do. We are in your debt, Axel-dono.」
「Don’t mind it. Now, go.」
He was helping with the rescue while Berzelia and others were going on the offense.
Hardly any guild members or knights remained on the ground.
「What’s left…Only a few knights that can hardly move which includes Sidonius.」

Being grateful to Axel, Sidonius lowered his head.
「So-sorry, Axel-dono. Making you go through all those troubles. Don’t mind me and first carry my subordinates away…」
「…Got it. I’ll carry those that cannot move to the rear.」
Replying in such a fashion he began carrying wounded to the back.
While we were going through this exchange the rakshasa broadly grinned.
「It became quite noisy all of a sudden. How admirable of you, Heroes… To show up in front of me, Majin Rakshasa.」
Saki was the first one to reply to that line from the rakshasa.
「Thank you for the introduction, Majin-san. However, you know about us, don’t you.」
「Of course. During the war, I learned how much of a threat you are. I also have memories of fighting you as an ordinary rakshasa…… And also know that you have poison resistance skills. This time there is an additional annoyance in the form of that carrier with the name of that hero, but it’s trivial.」
The rakshasa grinned as he talked.
「Aren’t you quite composed to show us such a smile, majin-san.」
「But of course. I can’t stop myself from laughing when I think that I will be able to defeat you here. In the name of Majin Rakshasa Bane, you heroes, shall perish here. There is nothing better than this.」
The rakshasa laughed, seemingly unable to contain himself.
Two heroes and one dragon monarch, despite being in their range of attack the rakshasa couldn’t stop himself from laughing.
「What’s with you…… You are the one being cornered here. Do you think you can doー」
Anything, is what she was trying to say.
But before Daisy could finish those words.
「Ceugh……?」
「…Eh?」
Blood leaked from Daisy’s mouth. No, it wasn’t just Daisy.
「Eh……?」

Berzelia also spat blood.
And both dropped to their knees.
●
Saki just saw two of her comrades fall to the ground.
「Cough…… My body, is stiff, I can’t move……?」
「Kuu… Fuu… What, is this.」
Purple-colored inflamed patches appeared on their skin along with welt-like symptoms, in addition, those swelled areas were moving and wriggling like a slime. Almost as if the poison itself was alive.
The symptoms were similar to those of the knights downed over there and Sidonoius suffering over here, and yet different.
「This, even with Daisy-dono’s poison resistance, she is still affected……?」
Saki frowned hearing Sidonius’ groan-like voice.
「……No, a mere poison wouldn’t be able to get through dragon’s or carbuncle’s poison resistances.」
To begin with, beings known as phantom monsters had high resistances to magic and magic poison.
On top of that, it’s the dragon monarch and the hero of training.
The same as me, they had high ability scores and corresponding skills that would’ve allowed them to resist poison.
And in the first place, they didn’t even touch the poison beasts as they defeated them.
And yet, this.
「…It doesn’t seem like a normal poison.」
As I muttered that, the rakshasa in front of me laughed with a broad grin.
「Haha, so you noticed? How do you like it? The special compound poison that I created through ten years of study and research.」
「Are you boasting?」
「I surely do. It took me many years to complete it, so the very least I’ll do is boast. …Even so, unfortunately, it lacks control and hardly affects humans. Well, thanks to that it became quite unnoticeable, allowing me to spread it all over this area without anyone realizing it. There are pros and cons, but I can work on this later.」
With those words Saki understood.
They were wondering when he managed to attack, but he did it even before they arrived.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
