"Son," The duke said gravely "You must leave and never return." Of course I knew what was happening, and I felt so gratified that it happened, I definently didn't want to stay in this family for my entire life. This isn't a joke, you have any idea how annoying it is to avoid monitering of the other houses? I couldn't create a piramid scheme the entire time! The super secret orginization was made through a few months of constant espionage of a bunch of drake house kids and a bunch of slaves.
It was mostly irratating and not really stress inducing for me, personally. Having gone through worse things before, the worries of my mental state weren't of any concern. Though some other kids needed some help, but I acted as if I didn't know what they were talking about, watching their actions under stress. It's funny to see a few break-down, then remodel their minds back into the realm of the sane. Some people also thrived when their stress levels 'broke' them.
It was a mix of entertainment and stress, though it was still weird for me to have a poker face in this shocking time, Duke had been used to it for a long time "Other of your generation will come with you as you escape, all with carraiges will be without the house's mark, and your places will be taken by shapeshifters and actors."
I nodded to it without much hesitation, though I wasn't planning for more than me alone, as long as they make an oath, it won't be to much trouble to take them into my care. They should've learned ettequite and a lot of other things, so it shouldn't be super hard to marry them into some baron's house with a few gold coins. As such I will have my reach already encrouch on the noble land-scape, which will quicken some of my plans.
I quickly looked at my things in my space rings, I had everything I needed. All my money, being about 645 gold after a lot of business and extortion. A lot of swords and other weapons in another ring, the top hundred and all the rest of the space filled with whatever I picked up, since I only kept track of the top 100. A lot of medicinal and poisonous herbs, venoms, just straight up poison of various kinds, and medical tools, my favorate inside this one being the necrotic poison that caused the rot of your living body and the nerve poison that caused extreme pain. Another one with a bunch of metals of many types that I could use in the future like zinc, copper, iron, tin, gold, silver, and a bunch of other things, the favorate here being asphalt and the stuff needed for sement like limestone. Another had a bunch hard and soft wood of various variaties, favorate here is mohogoney.

Then another had all the things I needed to create, and a few notebooks, ink, grafite, paint dust, eggs, and all the other things needed for painting. Even seeds and acid in this one too, pretty much everything needed for farming.
Now here comes my favorate, this is where I put most of my stem field work into, magic things! All of my magic circle shit is in this ring, my magic stones too. I had a few other ones with food and clothes, and stuff, pretty much shit I need to live. Then there was one with a bunch of outfits and the like, it's called acting, and lying low.
I looked at Luna with thrifty and scheming eyes, and thought to myself 'Am I a bad person for doing that?' But then I came up with a perfect answer "Who cares?" Luna heard it, but had attained 'learned helplessness' about getting answers about what he was it was.
quickly time passed, while I got a lot of high quality stuff from the one who inpregnated the one that birthed me. I squeezed it out saying stuff like "We cannot let our heritage and heirlooms be taken by our enemies, as long as our legacy exists within our bloodline's hands, we will rise up once more!" So corny, but such high quality preaching worked wonders.
And most importantly, I went to my 'little brother', of course I don't consider that trash as the same as me, but I need to at least seem to have the slightest amount of empathy to the masses.
I showed my infinite kindness by placating it a bit, I was quite used to it, a way to get rid of stress. Very good back then, 'back then' in emphisis, now... Fuck those kids! I am me! And I will not be contained by words like 'what about the children?'! I also gave a box with a timer to open to the little boy, telling him to hide it for a long while, and that it will open when the time is right.
What was in it? It just had a piece of parchment which said 'Congrats! You got tricked into keeping a box for a long long time! I wish I could see your face!', why? Because normies don't deserve my generousity! And it'll be funny, I promise. I promise. I really promise you that, at least I honestly believe it will.
At least it was about time for use to depart, 3 days before the capital birthday of mine came about. I entered the refited without signs of my house carraige, I know that I didn't go too far away from the mansion in a few days, about two days.
After which I had a look of the land, and knowledge of our location on a map. Mapping technology, no, mapping quality was extremely high, since some noble or something would have someone fly into the sky to make one for their house. Big ones like mine had one partially of the 'Wilds', the places untouched by man, with that I mean it hasn't been taken over by human kind. Pretty much the only place monsters live, and not well known.

Since the empire is about the size of the US of A, the map of the 'Wilds' shows only the amount of land in india, though there's way more land in the wilds since the land of the 'Wilds' is spread all across the border of the empire. Remember how I looked at all the continents? Yea, I saw the empire, it takes up a small, small amount of the continent's lands. Though I still don't know where the elves are located since they don't have some super obvious sign they live somewhere, but I think it was that big island that was partially enclosed by the mainland, though that island was pretty much the size of asia and europe combined.
With my authority I changed the direction of the 'caravan', to the place I was going to meet the mages.
Time again slowly passed, as I was in wonder of the illusory cage that held a lot inside but showed some rank 3 beast inside instead of the caravan's entire fortune of beasts. The fashion sense of the other members were pretty *Cough* *Cough* trash *Cough*, still don't understand why children in wigs looks cool.
Luna didn't have the guts to interupt my thoughts, as such she tried to mimic me and look out of the window mysteriously. She couldn't really tell what I was looking at since I didn't need to directly look at something to focus at me, and if she figured out and talked about it I would talk as if she got it wrong.
After another day in the carraige, I saw that we had arrived at the site. I had it all stop for the reason "Everyone has been in a carraige for three days, it is best to rest for a few hours the night, in the open air."
As such a little bit of free time with a few campfires was made, I drunk a bit of wine, ye, I had some. And I signalled for Luna to have some as well, I filled a cup and put in some potent sleeping poison.
I watched her drink in the corner of my eye, without me looking at the corner of my eye with my eyes. She took a swig, I immeadiately saw her lose her balance, fast acting as I asked. I took her cup out of her hands by force, quite easy since she was a child and had low physical stats for her age, while I had a skill that increased my stats.
Luna, no Isla, I'm going to keep calling her Isla since I like it more. But would there be trouble caused by that? No, I don't think so. Isla had her legs fall in on herself, slowly losing control of her body, and even her mind started to become foggy "Nighty night." I said to her in a playfull tone, gotta have some humor in my persona.
I her eye there was no hate or anger, which did suprise me, but more a feeling of loss and sadness was in the eyes of Isla before it blurred to much to make out.
With a loud thunk she was knocked out on the ground, the limp body brought people hiding in the shadows into the lime-light. This, instead of the person falling onto the ground unconcious, brought the guards into actions "Name your self or face my blade!" I frowned, but signaled for him to introduce himself as some mysterious figure and not as his real self. Not like they'll find out who's really behind the cloak.
"Do not worry, my name is of no concern to you," He said confidently and with no worry at angering the guards "I am here to pick up someone on my boss's orders, which is-"
I stepped up and said calmly "Me." I had picked up Isla and threw her to the hooded figures not in the lime-light "Good to finally meet you, I've heard you're pretty talented." I said with friendlyness.
"Thank you sir," The man in the robe hidding the face said respectfully "I am better than my peers, but not at your level." Knowing his place below me? What a talent! "Though I need to know, it seems you brought some more people than planned." He kept talking in an appropriate tone.
"Ah yes, Duke was able to figure out the little scheme of the other houses unlike expected. We'll pick up the ones that make an oath with us, they've got enough education to not be waste of time taking with us." I explained without urgency, I quickly turned around and annouced "Hello everybody! I'm Able Drake, sure you've heard of me before. So I already had plans for this, but you all coming along was not. But since it won't be bad, I'll take anyone who will swear to follow this contract with me. And yes I do have connections and such, and I've already planned this out."
"I'll do it." A kid stepped up, one of the drake children that worked with me until they broke. Ah that's good, they're with a higher stress tollerence.
Suddenly a lot more people stepped-up, though not all of them. Well, I was happy with the results, better than I expected.

Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity. This is the struggle for their right of existence. As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.
