《The Alteras Games: World Jumper Book 2》Chapter 14

"Jet, I will not let you sacrifice yourself." Jeff grabbed him by his shirt.
"It's not like I want to. But do you have a better idea?" Jet asked.
"What's going on?" Kayley runs out of the elevator.
Jeff explained the situation to her. "I don't get you, Jet. You say you're not a hero, yet you keep putting yourself in harm's way."
"You are overthinking things. I can just Jump off this world." Jet pointed at Kayley. "We could meet back up at her world." He tapped his head. "I got the coordinates to her world up here."
"No," Kayley said. "I can never go back home."
Jet looked back out the door they came in from. "We don't have time to argue."
"Wait, what if I make a battery? The power lines are made of gold. So it can hold a charge for longer." Jeff looked around. "I could also use the other metals around this place."
"Why is it my plans never work or get tossed aside? Won't this water make things harder?" Jet sighed.
"Maybe, I'll get started. it may take me some time for this project." Jeff got to work.
Jet let Jeff go with his plan. He walked over to the door and looked out. Lava had started to pour out of the ceiling. It was only a matter of time before they would drown. The water had already reached up to their chests. Jet forced all the water out and sealed the room.
"I'm amazed you can still use magic so easily, Jetsford." Kayley walked up beside him.
"I can't do much through my arm." Jet turned and looked at her. "But my legs still work just fine. I'm hoping, however, that I didn't damage the cores in my left arm too much. My right arm was damaged bad enough that magic didn't flow through it correctly."
Kayley cocked her head. "What do you mean by cores?"
"My magic is run through the bones in my body. There are small cores connecting each of my bones. I'm not sure why my body copied the magic system of the first world I went to. From the way I see your magic, your body has muscles and veins. Not like mine at all." Jet used his magic sight to look at her flow of magic. Even Jeff's was different from theirs. The stone in his chest made new veins in his body, moving outwards from where it was in his chest. Tulle and Hogan were even different. Their bodies seem to radiate a small glow. He had no idea what it meant. Looking down at his hand, he realized his body had a strange glow. "Hey Hogan, what is your magic power?"
"What? I don't have any magic." Hogan looked confused.
Jet pointed at both Tulle and Hogan. "You both have magic. I can see the magic coming off the both of you."
Both of them looked down at themselves. "But only nobles have magic. Everyone knows that." Tulle looked back up at him.
Jet shook his head. This was a problem with the first world he had went. Secrets are what hold people back. But Earth was the same way. There would always be the lower class people. "Well, we will need to figure out how your magics work."

'If we survive all this. Jet hanging around you seems to be dangerous.' Alex jumped onto his head.
'Yes, I seem to be a magnet for danger. By the way, what's up with you and sitting on my head?' Jet thought back.
'It's comfortable.' Alex said before falling asleep and sinking into his head.
"That just looked so wrong," Hogan said, and everyone else nodded. Except for Jeff, who was too busy to pay attention.
"Alex's soul is attached to my own. So when she sleeps, she enters back into my body." Jet explained. However, he wondered why she was so sleepy. But being connected, he could tell she had difficulty staying awake.
"Ok, that sounds like a conversation for another time." Kayley thought it was a bit weird.
Jet cringed when the room started to shake. "Jeff, hurry up. I think we are out of time. Kayley, there is still a hole in the elevator roof. Check and see if the tunnel is still ok."
The room shook with even more ferocity. "Jet, this will have to do."
Jet looked at the odd. Not really a battery. "Then let's hope this works." He touched the surface to put in as much electricity as possible. "Jeff, what are you doing?"
"This pile of aluminum is the fail-safe," Jeff said, putting it all in the elevator.
"Ok." Jet poured his remaining magic into creating electricity. Well poured was an overstatement in his condition. The machine powered on, but Jet wondered how long it would last. After he was done, he ran to the elevator and pushed the button to go up.
"Well, at least it works," Hogan said.
Everyone in the elevator turned to Hogan and looked at him as if he had jinxed them all. Luckily nothing seemed to go wrong for the first few minutes, at the least. "The elevator seems to be slowing and speeding up. Either we're almost out of electricity, or the room below is breaking apart." Jeff frowned.
Jet closed his eyes and felt the earth around him. They were moving too fast for him to feel out with his magic completely. "I can't tell if we're out of the lava layer yet."
"Jetsford, you can feel the earth around us?" Kayley asked.
"Not right now. We are moving too fast to tell what's around." Jet was amazed at the speed they were moving. He wasn't too sure how they could be standing. "What are you doing?"
Jeff had got down and put an ear to the floor. "Do you hear something?" The power went out in the elevator.
"Well, that's no good." Hogan broke the silence in the dark.
"You have no idea how not good this is." Jet frowned, not that anyone could see him.
"Mind explaining," Kayley asked and fell to her knees. "What's going on?"
"I think something was keeping the gravity from crushing us. The elevator is far too fast, and it slowed down when it shut down. Unfortunately, we're in a barrel of a gun." Jeff got back up. "Jet, a crazy plan would be good now."
"Hope there isn't a mountain for a ceiling above us." Jet shrugged.
"That isn't a plan." Jeff cringed as the elevator kept speeding up.

"No, it is not." Jet, not having much strength, sat down hard. He didn't have a clue what to do. They were being pushed at a rapid rate from the pressure below. Closing his eyes to think, he reached out for his magic. Feeling his magic out put him at ease, but he noticed another magic now. Reaching for the new power, he could feel a small world within himself. There was something else that he could use as well. "I got a plan. Everyone grab my arm."
Everyone was about to ask where he was at. But his arm started to glow. Once they all touched his arm, he tried for plan a, which was to jump to another world with them all. It was no good. With the addition of Hogan and Tulle, even the closest planet was out of range. So he went with plan b, which relied on new magic. Jet felt for a place to go but found none. He waited and waited for one to show up. Just before the elevator hit the top, he found a place. "Soul teleport." He said just before the elevator smashed against the mountain. It had been buried.
Jet had pain shoot throughout his body, mostly his head. But he had managed to pull off the rescue. It was night out, and the stars looked nice. Except for the explosion nearby where the mountain started to shoot lava into the air. "Oh crap, I'm so glad that worked." Jet said, not wanting to get up. Even knowing it was raining fire.
"I think we should run," Jeff added.
"Yeah, sounds like a great idea. Does anyone have the energy left to run?" Jet would have sat down, but he was already on the ground.
"I said I think we should run. Not that we actually can." Jeff huffed out and looked at everyone. They were not in good shape at all. He noticed Jet had fallen unconscious at some point.
"Jefferson, we may not be able to run. But we do need to move." Kayley got to her feet. "Now come on, everyone, we can do this."
Tulle got up with no problem. Being carried by Alex left her with more strength than the others. Hogan and Jeff both got to their feet as well. Now the question on all their minds was, 'what the hell do we do about Jet?' Hogan leaned down and grabbed him up. "We will take turns." He said, heading off away from the geyser of magma.
They did not get bothered during their trip. Possibly because people were busy with the new volcano erupting, so once they were far enough away, they didn't set up a camp and went to sleep. A camp was the last thing on any of their minds.
Tulle was the first to wake up and look around. She noticed Jet had awoken at some time and was sitting around a fire. "How long you been up?" She asked groggily.
Jet looked over and smiled. "A few hours. Let the others sleep some more."
Tulle walked over to the fire and sat next to Jet. "I don't think that would be a problem. Not even an explosion could wake them up."
Jet chuckled. "I wouldn't bet on that. But it may take quite the noise. I managed to kill that wolf there without anyone noticing." He looked at Tulle. " you hungry?"
After the others woke, they ate and went on their way. After traveling for another week, they found an abandoned house in the forest. They decided it was a good place to set up a base.
Jet had found a broken computer and decided to tinker with it. Tulle was watching him over his shoulder, along with being his extra hand. "What are we doing?"
"Working on getting this computer to work. My mother showed me a few things here and there." Jet wasn't as smart as his mother. But he did learn a few things. He mostly wanted to see what the AI knew now and if he could find a way to wake it up.
Jeff came into the house smiling. "Alright, let's see if I got the solar power working. Found some new panels in the attic with instructions." He flipped a breaker on, and the house lighted up.
"Alright, let's see if I fry the AI." Jet said and turned the computer on. To his surprise, the screen came on with a frowning AI on the screen.
"Seriously, I asked to be brought to the main computer in the Alteras Tower." She complained.
"I was thinking about leaving this world. Why should I waste my time?" Jet asked.
The AI sighed and explained. "Ok, fair enough. We came to this world to ready them for a fight. I am a copy of Alteras, number eighty-two. My job was to keep the computer in area eighty-two from failing. But I can only do so much by myself. The people that were there to help stopped coming one day. I don't know what happened to them. But I had also lost contact with the main computer as well." Alteras frowned. "This world was picked for our project. We made time flow ten times faster here."
Jet interrupted. "Don't you mean slower?"
"Yeah, my programming got messed up from the lack of repairs. I had to boot an old copy of myself onto the plate. Look, I know it's not your problem. But something has gone wrong, and I need to figure out why." Alteras pleaded.
"What did you mean by preparing this world for a fight?" Jeff asked.
"Some guy destroyed our galaxy. He said it wasn't personal, but any world that produces World Jumpers must be exterminated. We fought him with everything we had. It took less than a day for our galaxy to be destroyed by this person. But we had a ship with the ability to warp away. With what was left of our people, we found this world. We wanted to give them a fighting chance." On the screen, Alteras had tears falling down her face.
Jet leaned back on his chair. "Alright, sounds like a noble goal. I'll help you get to the tower. After we train a little first."

LIlith's Firstborn
The legend says that the Forbidden Fruit made the first two humans – Adam and Eve – intelligent, but what if it was the other way around? What if the Forbidden Fruit took most of their humility, their intelligence, their kindness, etc. away and turn them into the discriminating, angry, and hateful humans that they are? What if the only way to turn back into their former selves was to lead a good life on Earth to cleanse their souls? The legend also says that Lilith was a demoness who fled from Heaven and was granted mercy when she showed humility and proved that her soul was still worthy of saving despite all her wrongdoings. What if, after centuries of sinning, Lilith finally found her way back to kindness? What if God forgave Lilith for her crimes? What if she gave birth to a baby after she had repented? And what if that baby is the only human soul in existence that isn’t tainted by the Forbidden Fruit or her past sins? Tallitanya of Lilith inherited her mother’s immortality and grew up at a rate much slower than an average human so she had witnessed the rise and fall of empires even though she is physically and mentally 21 years old. She was born on Earth, but she moved to Heaven when she was physically 5 years old and didn’t return until she was 18 years old. She was tasked, by God himself, to guard over the Forbidden Tree which had since been replanted on an isolated island on Earth. She loves that job, and she loves that she was given direct instructions instead of having to figure out what God’s so-called ‘mysterious plans’ for her was. Centuries went by. Tallitanya is 21 years old when the Final Judgement is nigh. As an immortal who has yet to have a real affiliation with Heaven or Hell, Tallitanya has received a personal invitation from the Antichrist who wishes to recruit Tallitanya. Heaven also sends its angel – Michael – to inform Tallitanya that as a human, her soul would also be judged by God. She was ordered to leave her post as the Forbidden Tree’s guardian so that she could get to know the other humans before she makes an actual decision about who she wants to align herself with. The second she steps out of the island, it disappears. Turns out, her message from God was faked, and so was her mission. The devil had tricked her, and as the guardian of the Forbidden Tree, she must recover the tree and the island, or humanity will perish within the year.
