《A Desolate Life》Final Update
Advertisement
Hi everyone, this is the final update I will be making on 'A Desolate Life'. All further updates will be on 'Desolate Fate', which is now officially live on RR and WN!
I'm making this post because I want to make sure that my readers are aware that Desolate Fate is now live, and posting a chapter here is all I could think of doing. Plus, there were a couple of things I forgot to mention in the volume 4 post note.
I have already explained that I am rebranding the novel, so I won't go through that again. I will just mention that I released a few DF chapters over the past couple of days, but for the next few days, I will post 1 chapter per day until I've stacked up enough chapters on the patreon, which will be one week ahead of the public release. After that, I'm aiming for 3 chapters per day.
I just wanted to make this post to request my readers to check out Desolate Fate. You don't need to reread unless you really want to, but if you could follow the novel, leave a comment, a rating or even a review, that would be super helpful! Early traction is super important in helping a webnovel to get going, even if it is a bit shameless of me to request it so blatantly haha.
I also wanted to thank everyone for all the support throughout ADL. It feels wild that people have read so much of something that I wrote, all the way until the end of volume 4! I always read your comments (unless I miss them by mistake), and that really is motivating and makes it feel like I'm actually writing FOR people, rather than just posting into an empty void. As a side note, I think that I'll try to be more interactive with my readers in DF.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
8 156The Violet Dragon Familiar
Five hundred years ago, the world was a much different place. Knights and mages roamed the lands, taking on quests and battling monsters. It was an era of great adventure… but it has come to a close. Monsters are long extinct, and with them, magic. You see, much like a tree creates oxygen, monsters produced mana – the ethereal substance that made casting spells possible. With no monsters to fight, the age of heroes ended. Now, the world is caught in a storm of technological advancements, new wonders seeking to replace the long lost magic. Evan Thames is a young man growing up in the prosperous city of Dewton. As the son of a famous general, he’s pretty high class, comfortable in his life… but that all changes when he recieves a mysterious parcel from his long absent grandfather.

In a world inhabited by vampires, various factions are vying for dominance, whether through wars or grueling tournaments. In the midst of the conflict, two unsuspecting humans become caught in the battle. Note: My first story on here, I wanted to try writing a story with battles and leveling up, the kind of story where a character starts at the bottom and world their way up. I hope this story is a good chance to see what works and try out a few different ideas I’ve had.
8 197The End
There are five days left. The End is a miracle 10,000 years in the making that will free all from the confines of the world. The gods will soon be born. There is nothing that can be done about this. Not a webnovel, but a screenplay, submitted as my dissertation for my screenwriting degree. Sort of experimental. I have learned that I dislike writing screenplays, but all the same, I thought I'd post it anyway so it's at least worth something that way.
