《Wolf Bloodline》The Four Elite Soldiers

The general looked at the man with anxious eyes, as if he had heard that name somewhere before,
"The whip of the Sea, sank deep to the bottom, with his ship long ago. Such a thing is impossible."
The general waited for an answer to his question, but I succumbed to my curiosity and asked a question like him,
"Do you know him?"
At this point, the General realized that I was waiting for an explanation. He knew that I could then better identify my enemy. So he turned his head toward me and began to tell me about it,
"In my time, he was a captain who was quite famous at sea. But he was no ordinary captain. He was a captain who took on the legendary creatures of the sea, and a person who could sink four ships with a single ship. He was quite ruthless and would not leave anyone alive. That is why people nicknamed him "The Whip of the Sea".
But that was not enough for him. He wanted more. So he made a mistake and challenged Polox. They say the war was over before it began. The creature destroyed the ship in a single move.
And the captain, like any captain, did not leave his ship and sank with his ship into the tide. He has not been heard from since. But it's interesting that he's standing before us right now."
As the story was told, the captain just gazed at the wooded landscape across from him. And when the story was over, he turned his head toward us and said,
"That was not a story being told, that was just ignorance."
Then he added,
"But thanks to our epic, I was saved and strengthened. I knew that later I would return to where I deserved to be. For our goal is to put the creature where it belongs, and bring a new order to the world."
Then Hiroshi looked at him with a serious expression and said,
"Do you want to kill a creature that belongs to one of your allies? You probably want to kill the creature of the Fourth."
"Ally? All Epics hate each other's guts. If it were not for the rules, they would have killed each other by now."
Then he added,
"But it does not matter anyway. When we conquer these seas, they will not be like you three."

I quickly stood up and took a fighting stance,
"You must be the one who's worried now. Because we are going to stop that from happening."
"It's too late for all of you. There's no turning back from here."
The captain made a motion of his head and directed the masked woman.
Then he said,
"Poison, you may begin expelling smoke. We are starting now."
Immediately after the captain's order, the elite soldier broke something in her palm and threw it into the forest below.
I did not see what was happening at first, and I did not understand what was happening.
But seconds later, there was a huge explosion, followed by a huge green mist rising. It was a cloud of smoke with a rather pungent smell and appearance. It was like poison gas, to be exact. And this green gas surrounded the entire forest around the castle.
They did this to make sure that Princess Mila would not run away.
Then the captain raised his right hand in the air and said,
"Call out the soldiers, kill them all, we will not let them live."
And when he said that, the elite soldier with four arms suddenly attacked me.
He tried to hit me furiously, as if he had been waiting for that order all along. At first, I could not see what was around me because of his fists. Then he quickly raised his hands in the air and waved them at me like a cannonball. So I threw myself backwards.
And at that time Hiroshi was fighting an elite soldier who looked like a fox and stopped his attacks.
And the captain was giving orders to Posion,
"Bring me the princess."
Then she leaped from the ship and made for the castle, wasting no time. And the general aimed at the captain, who turned his back on him.
He gathered his strength and struck at the captain with his fist. But suddenly a rope wrapped him from his foot and prevented him from delivering the blow. Then it pulled him up.
It was as if the rope had moved of its own accord and had a mind of its own. We had to help the general, too.
So I called out to Hiroshi,
"We have to stop the rope! Or it will get us in trouble!"

Hiroshi then fired a perfect shot without looking at the general, and hit the rope at the general's foot, causing him to fall to the ground again. And the general had an idea at that moment and said to me while turning his head towards me before falling to the ground,
He said,
"Ryuu! I need your help!"
I knew exactly what he meant and what he wanted to do. So I gathered my strength, shoulder bumped the elite soldier in front of me, and went under the general.
And when he almost hit the ground, I put my hands together and supported him from underneath. Then I threw him with all my might at the captain.
As the general flew in the air towards the captain, he stretched his hand as far back as he could and tried to give the captain a solid blow.
The captain once more turned his back on us, and we were very confident that The General would strike the blow. But the captain turned with incredible speed and drew the great sword from his grip. Then he stopped the fist with his sword.
The interesting thing was that his sword did not break and stopped the general's punch perfectly.
He then looked at him with a scary expression and said,
"Think twice when you disrespect me on my own ship. You senile general."
He then withdrew his sword and swung it again towards the general. This made him try to defend himself and he was about to dodge the sword stroke, but Captain suddenly appeared on the other side and dealt him a hard blow.
Since he was not that strong, he was able to recover quickly. But just as he was about to strike back,
Captain shouted,
"Forward!"
The whole ship moved forward as it jumped, pulling everyone along with it.
He had moved a huge ship and an army just with his words.
There were dozens of people coming out of the ship, either going down to attack others or trying to help Captain to defeat us.
How had he managed to do that? How was he able to control something like that just by talking? I did not figure it out quickly and he attacked the general again!
When the ship moved, the general had missed his attack, and Captain used that as an opportunity to hit the general again.
But this time the blow was much harder than before and stunned him badly. It made him fall harshly and he couldn't get up for a couple of seconds.
I then quickly ran up to him,
"No! General!"
But before I could do anything, the four-armed elite soldier suddenly grabbed me by the waist and jumped off the ship.
It was obvious that his goal was to keep me away from the others, but I had not expected him to do such a thing.
We quickly fell head over heels and I was unable to move.
So I pulled my arms in, threw my head back, and hit him in the head. Then when he was not holding me, I kicked him and I slowed my fall and fell to the ground unharmed. The elite soldier had also fallen into another area.
When I got up, I saw Hiroshi fall off the ship as well.
For a moment, I was startled that he fell right after me. So I jumped with all my strength and managed to catch Hiroshi in mid-air.
We had landed safely.
Then Hiroshi shrugged and said,
"Thanks, Kid. Suddenly a rope wrapped around my foot and threw me. I guess we did not pick a good place to fight."
"There's something strange about this ship," I replied with a suspicious tone.
"You are right. The old man looks like he'll be defeated if he keeps fighting that psychopathic Captain. And we need to go back on that ship to help him."
As he said this, we saw that the fox man had jumped off the ship, and he quickly landed next to us. He had jumped from that height as if it was something normal, and had not sustained any injuries in the quick landing.
And after the dust around him lifted, he slowly started walking towards us. Slowly crunching its bones.
The two of us would have easily dealt with him. But the four-armed elite soldier quickly got up and stood next to the fox man, blocking our way to the ship.
Now it was impossible to reach the ship without fighting them.

Dungeon Darwinism: Deepest Dungeon
Dungeons are a lot like sea turtles. They’re born in clutches of dozens, if not hundreds. A hundred may be born at one time, buried in still burning cities, or in forests where the canopy hides the sky, or in ocean trenches at the bottom of the sea. But only one in a clutch ever makes it to the surface. Everyone knows about dungeons— monstrous factories that emerge out of the earth, full of riches and Arcana and power— and monsters. But most of humanity only know about the dungeons that make it. Mark doesn’t know anything about dungeons. He isn’t from this world, and only as a victim of circumstance has he become an unwilling half of a dungeoncore. The other half is a Dark Lord. (Rewrite)

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
