《Wolf Bloodline》The Path To The Mountain

We arrived at a town called Biro, east of the first Kingdom. Our goal was to convince the bloodline of Cronus to join our war. I didn't know if they were going to get convinced but I still wanted to try my chances anyway. On the other hand, the place we were going to was quite far and we had to come to a town and buy a horse-drawn carriage.
And they were searching for us everywhere, so we covered our faces with masks.
As we got out of the carriage and when started walking, I remembered what my uncle once said. He told me that the epic had almost as much authority as a king. And because of this, the Kings could not do anything because they were afraid of a great war. It wasn't fun to think about that but it was the truth. It was something that a lot of people had to accept.
After some time we got tired of searching for a carriage. We decided to enter a restaurant and rest before finding ourselves a horse-drawn carriage.
When we got inside, I looked at Babu and said,
"Babu, can I ask you something?"
"Absolutely! What's the problem?" He replied with a smile.
"When you spoke to Master Yix back there, I heard about "Ki" power. My uncle once told me about it, but I didn't learn much about it. Do you know anything about that? I've also heard that you were training about how to control Ki power, how much can you control it?"
"Hmmm. Let me think..... Ah! I remembered!"
He then added,
"Ki is the life energy of a person and a living being. Every living thing has Ki power inside them, but only the fi-sorfeice lineage or a very powerful individual can fully open and use their Ki. And for Ki control, I worked with my Master for a long time. But I never fully controlled my Ki.
In order to control Ki, first of all, your mind must be completely empty. There must be no questions in your mind, and you must meditate for a long time. And if your willpower is strong, you may achieve what you want to achieve."
Lezlie joined our conversation and said,
"How is it to completely unlock Ki power?"
"If I can succeed, my strength increases ten times more than my current strength. And I can also heal a wounded or sick person whose wound is not excessively severe by touching them with my hand. But the bad part is, if I do what I say, I'll have to spend an incredible amount of life energy. Which will make me overly tired and powerless, maybe worse. That's why only the best and the strongest can use all their Ki."

It sounded very exciting to control the power of "Ki". But just like every other power, I had to work really hard to activate it. At least that was what Babu told us.
Since we were in a restaurant, we decided to order some food while killing some time. So we started eating. Lezlie, Babu, and I were very hungry but Hiroshi didn't eat anything. He just looked around and gazed through people. He seemed like he wanted to stay alert for any trouble.
"We need a carriage to climb the mountain. But we don't know much about this place. That means we're going to waste much of our time finding the carriage." He said calmly.
Then Babu said, "That can be true, but since we know where to go it shouldn't be much of a problem."
Just then, a man stood up from the table behind us and approached us. He was a normal villager, but he seemed he wanted to talk to us.
He said,
"Are you people planning on going between the mountains?"
Babu said, "Yes, but why did you ask about it?"
"Nothing special, I just thought I can take you there, but why do you want to go there?"
"We have important business with the leader of the Cronus Bloodline." I said,
"I understand, it will be really difficult for you to get there without a horse-drawn carriage. If you need anyone, just say a word and I can take you there."
We looked at each other confused. We didn't expect that we could get help just out of nowhere. And his deal could have helped us, even though we didn't know if we should go with him. But we decided to accept the situation and got on with it. It was surprising but things like this happened to us a lot so we all got in the back of the carriage in no time.
On the other hand Hiroshi, As always, was cautious. He was on his guard as if the driver was going to trick us or something. Maybe he was right about being cautious, but I didn't think that he could be a bad person.
And so when we started to move, Hiroshi lit his cigar and said,
"I want to ask something."
Surprisingly, the man heard him and replied,
"Yes, of course."
"Why are you helping us? We were just some strangers who got here. Shouldn't you have family relatives to help or a job to do?"

"It is not an appropriate move to do, I know. But I saw you guys trying to hide your faces. I understood that you guys are some wanted people. But since you know about our lineage I thought you wouldn't be some bad guys just walking around. There has to be a reason to it, right?"
Hiroshi, "Lineage? So you are one of those people."
"Yes, I am. Just like you think. That's why I wanted to help you guys. But I want to ask something too. Why do you people want to talk to the leader anyway?"
"We have to talk about the first epic with him" I replied.
And as I said that the man looked at us with a serious expression,
"So that's why. Then I will absolutely help you on this."
He looked at the road once more, and added,
"We will be there after 2 days, I will inform you when we get there. So get some rest while you can."
Even if it seemed stupid to trust each other so quickly with people we didn't know, I still didn't think it was a bad idea. He didn't look like he was going to attack us, and he seemed to know where he was going. Even if he did so, I was ready just like Hiroshi. So we just calmly waited behind the car, surrounded by a beautiful silence, and laid down. But that beautiful silence, ended with a scream.
And just then, the man turned to us and said,
"These are Marauders! They're here to steal!"
"Hey! Keep driving, don't stop, we'll deal with them." Hiroshi replied loudly.
And just so on, the driver went on full speed and didn't care about the looters chasing us. But just then, The Marauders began to attack and started shooting from all sides. They damaged the car a lot and we were having a hard time inside.
"There are too many of them!" Hiroshi said as he took his gun out.
As he said they were crowded. They were all chasing the carriage and didn't seem like they were going to stop.
Hiroshi and Lezlie were firing spells and bullets at the looters on the horse from behind the carriage. And a couple of marauders jumped on the carriage while they did that. But Babu climbed on the carriage and he began fighting with sworded and armed looters at the top. He was helping Hiroshi and Lezlie while they were distracted.
Then I saw a marauder trying to attack the driver. He was trying to drive the carriage to a cliff.
So to help him, I quickly ran towards the driver in front of the car, punched the Marauder next to him, and saved him. Then I punched the guy on the horse next to me and made him fall off the horse. Then I jumped and kicked a Marauder on the other horse. Our left side was now half clear. Except for the back.
So as the carriage went on, I jumped on one of the horses and started riding it. I was now punching, kicking the marauders while I was on a horse and threw them off their horses. Others fought just well and in the same way, they were able to stop the Marauders.
Babu was throwing the people he beat on the carriage at the marauders on the horse. This made so many of them fall and hit each other as they were falling. It was hard to dodge them, but I managed to catch up with the carriage a couple of seconds after. And I was searching for something to use, I found a rope in the horse's saddle pocket. It wasn't that useful for a situation like this. But the rope gave me an idea. So I started riding carefully, speeding ahead of everyone. I was now too far away to be seen in their eyes.
Then I immediately threw the end of the rope so that it would wrap one branch of the tree, and I took the other end in my hand and went across the tree. I waited until the carriage passed, and when the carriage passed, I pulled the rope with all my power. Now the rope was stretched all the way down and it created an obstacle for the marauders. They were either going to jump through that carefully or they were going to have a hard time. And just like I planned, they didn't make it. The Marauders got stuck on the rope and fell off their horses, making the remaining marauders knocked out.
When they all fell, I caught up with the others and got back into the carriage safely.

But when they encounter the mysterious Shiakar Paradigm Society, a clash of paradigms ensues. Between the trio's optimistic yet naive ideals, and the SPS's tried-and-true surgical methods, determining the answer which methods can better humanity is a struggle that both parties must resolve in their own ways... Welcome to the 7th revision of my 10+ years ongoing novel trilogy. This revision took out some flawed plot concepts to re-introduce a more down-to-earth, film noir-like ambience, where a battle of wits is what will determine the outcome. It also added instead more in-depth expansion into the lives and mindsets of the characters, especially the heroes (a missing factor in older versions). Third-view limited storytelling was also introduced more prominently over my favoured third-view omnipotent, with each chapters concentrating as much as possible on a single character's point of view instead of head-hopping. So I shall begin uploading the chapters as I finish them; they're edited as much as I can, but there'll most likely be some typos and mistakes. As always, I welcome your comments and critiques, and I hope you enjoy reading that story as much as I did creating it! A parting poem to introduce the story (translated from its original French version): Credit: Les Mots, Mylene Farmer & Seal Firmly, the sky writhes When a mouth begets a death There, I will give my life to hear you To tell you the most tender words When all becomes all alone I'll break my life for a song And to lives that stoop to notice mine I know I will say goodbye But a fraction of this life I would give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives You could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple If one swept the world away One could touch the universe I will tell you how the sun rose high We could with a word become one And for all those words that hurts us There are those that touches us Which illuminates, touches the infinity Even if nothingness exists For a fraction on this life We will give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives We could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple
