"Everyone! Gather 'round!" Angie chirped, waving her arm around to get all the students attention. "We all here? Good! Then let's bow our heads and pray to God."
"You're a real pain in the ass, ya know that!?" Miu barked. "Just tell us what you fuckin' want!"
"Alrighty then, check this out." Angie showed the other students what seemed to be a flashlight.
"That is a peculiar-looking flashlight..." Kiibo commented. "So, what of it?"
"Umm, I dunno what it is either. I inspected it pretty good..." Angie clapped her hands together. "Nyahahaha, but in the end I couldn't figure it out."
Shuichi gave Angie a skeptical look. "You couldn't?"
"So I asked someone for help."
"...You don't mean-"
Without warning, Monokuma popped up in front of Angie and grinned at all the bewildered students. "If somethin' has you worried, just let Monokuma take care of it! If you don't know something, I'll tell you. If you need help, I'll help you. If you don't like something, I'll fix it." Monkuma looked down sadly. "So don't get rid of it... Please don't get rid of... me."
Gonta hummed. "It's awfully bad when a lady who acts like that tries to prey on you..."
"Huh? Do you know that from personal experience?" Tsumugi asked.
"Tell us, Monokuma. What is this flashlight?" Angie inquired and gave Monokuma an expectant look.
"Why, that's a Flashback Light." Monokuma responded.
"A... Flashback Light?" Korekiyo repeated.
"That flashlight doesn't shed light on darkness, it sheds light on your lost memories."
"Lost memories...?" Ryoma parroted.
"You guys seem concerned that you couldn't remember how you came to this school... But if you use that Flashback Light, you can remember everything!" Monokuma grinned.
"What...? With this light?" Shuichi asked in disbelief.
"So it's your fault we don't remember when we were kidnapped, huh?" Kaito growled.
"What did you do to us, and how did you steal away of memories?" Kirumi interrogated.
Monokuma tilted his head. "Hmm, maybe if you use the Flashback Light, you'll be able to remember that, too."
"...I don't believe it." Maki sighed. "No way will this flashback will recover our memories."
"I bet there were a lot of naysayers and skeptics when the telephone was invented, too. For your information, the Flashback Light can treat various symptoms of memory loss. It light it emits stimulates the basal ganglia and hippocampus. Not just that, but physical-" Monokuma paused then let out a small sigh. "Phew, I didn't realize how boring it would be to explain. Basically, it works like that..." Monokuma then hopped away without saying another word.
"Hey! Don't just give up explaining after a sentence!" Kaito barked after Monokuma.
"So... What should we do?" Kiibo asked.
"What should we do...?" Tenko repeated. "You mean, should we, or should we not use the flashlight?" Tenko vigorously shook her head. "No way! I refuse! It reeks of fishiness!"
Gonta nodded. "Yeah. I don't believe a flashlight can bring back a whole memory."
"Well, why don't we ask someone who knows machines?" Ryoma said. "We've got the Ultimate Inventor right here."
"You're all a bunch of Ultimate Dumbasses!" Miu snapped. "No fuckin' way that thing can treat amnesia! Then again... these aren't exactly normal circumstances..."
"This whole place kinda had common sense thrown out the window." Ichika chuckled. "I mean, look at Monokuma."
"So in such an uncanny environment as this, common sense has no place." Korekiyo said.

"Well, I mean, there are those neuralyzer things." Tsumugi spoke up. "The flashy things from Men In Black..."
"Why are you talking about a movie?" Maki sighed. "This is real life."
Kokichi shook his head. "I... don't think we should do it... I'm scared it might cause some weird side effect..."
"Nyeeeh... I'm worried how it will affect my magic." Himiko whined.
"...Has everyone spoken?" Kirumi looked around the room. "If we're all in accord, I will consent as well." Kirumi turned to face Shuichi. "What about you, Saihara-kun? You have not said anything yet."
Shuichi looked at her startled. "What? Ah, I-"
"Alright! Then it's decided!" Kaito interrupted. "Let's use it!"
"Huh? Who decided that?" Tsumugi asked. "We were all saying how dangerous it sounds..."
Kaito sighed. "Geez, you guys are way too cautious. I mean, I understand why. We're in such a weird situation, after all. But... we can't win by just running away all the time! If you want to win, you've gotta be a little reckless sometimes. If we cant face this danger, there's no way we'll be able to defeat Monokuma."
"Kehehe..." Korekiyo giggled. "Well, aren't you confident? But you've no idea *how* we're supposed to win, do you?"
"Yeah, I've got no clue. But still... If you wanna win, you gotta make a stand somewhere or you'll never move forward. If we run away, our kids will grow up to be the kinda people who run away from things like this!"
"...Huh? What are you talking about?" Maki asked.
"If you still wanna run away, then go ahead. I won't stop or blame you."
"Okaaaay, fine. Then, let's go-" Kokichi paused and looked at the other students. "...Huh? What's wrong, everyone? Aren't we going?"
"I'm... staying." Tenko said. "After hearing that delinquent's speech, running away would just frustrate me!"
"I will also stay... That's what a gentleman would probably do."
Kiibo nodded. "I also agree with Momota-kun. Our defeat is 100% assured unless we stand up to this. That's... how I feel, deep inside. Just a whisper-"
"You hear it in your ghost?" Kokichi cut Kiibo off with a grin. "I'm pretty sure robots don't have ghosts, though."
"...Leave me alone." Kiibo grumbled.
"I shall stay as well." Korekiyo said. "I suspect I will be able to observe something most interesting."
"If anything happens to me, ya'll better beg my fans, the world, and humanity for forgiveness!" Miu barked.
Ichika scoffed. "Please, what fans?"
"H-Haaa!? I have plenty of fans, you fuckin twerp!"
"So what are you gonna do, Saihara?" Kaito gave Shuichi an expectant look.
"I-I... I'll stay behind too."
"Alright!"
"I'll stay, too! So what if it might cause some weird side effects? That's no big deal!" Kokichi exclaimed.
"Me too! I think this will be able to shed some light on our abnormal situation!" Ichika chirped.
"It seems everyone agrees with Momota-kun." Kirumi hummed. "Very well, I shall follow suit."
"Hmph, *now* it's decided." Ryoma sighed. "Hurry up and do it."
"Then I'm gonna turn it on!" Angie picked the flashlight up.
"Yeah... please." Tsumugi smiled.
"Click!" Angie flicked on the switch.

"I... remember..." Shuichi breathed out, still in shock. "Yes, I remember everything now! In order to escape the Ultimate Hunt, I erased my own memory-"
"W-Wait! Did you say 'Ultimate Hunt'!?" Kaito yelled.

"...Huh?"
"You guys, too!?" Miu shouted. "So it wasn't just me getting chased down in this Ultimate Hunt..."
Kirumi nodded. "Yes, you were not the only one. I... no, we... were being chased as well."
"All of us here being chased by the Ultimate Hunt..." Ryoma trailed off. "What on earth does that mean?"
"Oh, wait..." Tenko spoke up nervously. "Can someone tell me what that is? I... can't seem to remember. What is the Ultimate Hunt?"
Kaito sighed. "Geez, how could you forget something so important? Alright guys, the Ultimate Hunt is..." Kaito froze. "Huh? What was it? Why can't I remember?"
"I can't either..." Shuichi sighed.
Kiibo looked at everyone anxiously. "It's no use, I can't remember either. I can only remember being chased. I can't remember anything else at all."
"Yeah, no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to remember-" Shuichi cut himself off and stared at the ground.
"Umm... It's no use." Tsumugi shivered. "I can't remember either."
"Ugh, this feels gross." Miu complained. "Like a shit that won't fully squeeze out."
"Even if we can't remember, we should still be able to figure something out..." Ryoma mumbled.
Gonta gave him a quizzical look. "...Hm? What do you mean?"
"If we were all running away from the Ultimate Hunt, then why are we imprisoned here? Could the reason be that... we were caught by the Ultimate Hunt?"
Kiibo stared at him in shock. "You mean, we tried to escape by erasing our memories, but they found us anyway... And subsequently, we were captured as part of this Ultimate Hunt?"
"Yeah... It might be the work of the Ultimate Hunt."
"If that is so..." Korekiyo spoke up. "Then I am all the more concerned about this Ultimate Hunt."
"But, but how disappointing! No one can remember anything!" Angie chirped. "Nyahahahaha! What a disappointing disappointment!"
"Quit laughing about this, you little shit!" Miu growled.
Kirumi hummed. "It seems losing him made a far bigger impact than we expected."
Maki stared at Kirumi. "...Him?"
"Amami-kun... He seemed to know a lot more than he let on. He asked us if the term 'Ultimate Hunt' sounded familiar."
"Ohhh, I do sorta remember him saying something like that." Angie said.
Kokichi raised an eyebrow. "Hmmm... Our mild-mannered mystery man said that, huh...?"
"But then... why did only Amami-kun remember the Ultimate Hunt?" Shuichi inquired.
"There is no point discussing it now. After all, he is already dead." Korekiyo gave the students a creepy look. "But if you truly wish to hear his words, I could perform a seance for you. Mmhm~"
"S-Stop it!" Kaito barked. "Don't bring up weird stuff like that! And why are you acting girly all of a sudden?"
"Yep, death can be real heartless." Monokuma had wandered back into the gym with the students.
"Says the roots of all evil..." Himiko grumbled and glared at Monokuma.
"Puhuhu... Looks like you guys safely go your memories back."
"What the hell's goin' on, you stupid-ass bear!?" Miu shouted. "This Ultimate Hunt makes no goddamn sense!"
"Looks like your sealed memories are more stubborn than I thought... Just one use of the Flashback Light wasn't enough to restore all of your memories..."
"You're such a terrible liar." Kokichi called out. "You totally did that on purpose."
"What connected do you have with the Ultimate Hunt?" Maki glared at Monokuma.
"Puhuhu... I can't reveal that. Regardless of my true identity, my goal is crystal clear. And that is, to make you guys participate in the killing game!" Monokuma laughed. "That is my only desire."
"Wh-What!? Killing game!?" Tenko exclaimed. "I will never do that ever again!"
"We just gotta work together. If we cooperate, we'll make it out of here alive." Kaito shot Shuichi a bright grin. "Just like a certain someone said..."
"But I believe cooperating with each other is the most logical course of action-" Kiibo got cut off by obnoxious snoring.
"I'm snoooooring!"
Kiibo glared at Kokichi. "...Why are you sleeping!?"
Kokichi woke up started. "Woah! Huh, what?"
"Hey, Ouma-kun... we're having a serious conversation here." Tsumugi sighed.
"And is it written somewhere that I have to take serious conversations seriously?"
"Tch, quit acting so immature." Kaito barked.
Kokichi tilted his head. "Hm? I'm a teenager... so duh, I'm immature. Aren't you guys forgetting to at your age?"
"But I don't have a biological age..." Kiibo commented.
"Don't worry about it, Kiibo-chan. I'm just talking to the humans right now!"
"...Grgh!"
"What were we talking about again?" Kokichi continued. "Something about working together to escape, right?"
"So you *were* listening, you horrible delinquent." Tenko growled.
"We don't have to work together, though. Let's just ask how we can get out."
Maki sighed in annoyance. "If we ask Monokuma, he'll say the only way is to win the killing game."
"Oh, we're not gonna ask Monokuma. We're gonna ask the mastermind among us."
Shuichi's eyes widened. "...What?"
Miu gawked at Kokichi. "A-Are you already goin' senile!? I thought we agreed that there is no mastermind?"
"Hm, oh yeah. We did, didn't we?" Kokichi sighed. "If we tried to sniff out a mastermind again, we'd just repeat Akamatsu-chan's screwup."
Kaito glared at Kokichi. "You'd better quit messing around!"
"Eh? You think I'm messing around right now? Aw man, you really don't get it. I'm trying to get this through to everyone... If you keep saying all this uplifting stuff about working together and cooperating..." Kokichi grinned ominously at all the students. "Then you can expect to see some painful retaliation. Get it?"
"What are you suggesting, Ouma-kun?" Shuichi interrogated him.
"Argh, that's enough!" Kaito punched his fists together. "I'm gonna slug him!"
"Aaahh! He's gonna punch me! I gotta make a break for it!" Kokichi dashed out of the gym as fast as he could.
"Tch... damn, he's fast." Kaito grumbled.
"You have a serious problem with punching people." Ichika pouted at Kaito.
"Geez... what a strange guy." Ryoma mumbled as he stared at the door Kokichi just dashed out of. "He just provokes people and never says anything from the heart. He's always messing around making fun of those around him."
"Hmph! How can he say such insensitive things when we're trying to survive!" Tenko growled.
"It's like he doesn't even want to survive. Though, I guess I'm no different."
Shuichi stared at Ryoma. "What?"
"Yeah. I don't plan to survive till the end." With that, Ryoma then left the room.
"Hoshi-kun..."
"He has mentioned that before... That he has no reason to live." Kirumi said.
"He doesn't have a reason to live?" Himiko placed a finger on her lip.
"Poor Hoshi-kun..." Tsumugi sighed. "It seems he's got a more tragic past than we could even begin to imagine..."
"Yeah, but the Ultimate Tennis Pro shouldn't be saying such cowardly stuff..." Kaito mumbled.
"Perhaps we should relax over a meal?" Kirumi offered. "Everyone, could you please tell me your favourite foods and beverages?"
"Huh? You're going to whip something up!? Toujou-san, are you, like, the perfect mom!?" Tenko exclaimed.
"..." Ichika stared at the other students before heading to the door.
"Aki-san? Where are you going?" Tsumugi asked.
Ichika blinked. "Huh? What's it to you?"
"Don't you want to eat something? And it's something made by Toujou-san!" Tenko exclaimed.
"Hmm..." Ichika smiled. "Nah. Anyway, I'll be going now-"
"Wait, Aki-san, where are you go-" Shuichi didn't get to finish his sentence before the gym doors closed behind Ichika.
"The fuck's that bitch's problem?" Miu spat.
Kaito shrugged. "I don't think she'll do anything. She doesn't seem dangerous at all."
"She acts much too carefree, and she doesn't seem like one to follow the group." Korekiyo hummed. "I wonder if she acts like that on purpose..."
"Nyahaha! Let's not worry about her. Let's just sit down and eat." Angie chirped.
"Very well. I shall go and prepare the food." Kirumi headed off to the dining hall, the rest of the students following close behind her.
***
Ichika went off to the warehouse first. She looked at the second shelf and found a box of files and papers. She also grabbed as many markers, pens, and pencils as she could, as well as several packs of origami paper and a binder filled with sixteen dividers and papers. She also grabbed a pair of scissors and a glue stick and shoved everything she had into the box she was holding.
Ichika walked back to her room. She placed the box of items on her desk and sorted through them. She placed the markers, pens and pencils on the right side of her desk and pulled out all the origami paper and stacked them up neatly on the left side of her desk. She put the box, which now only had the files in it, on the ground. She took the polaroid camera she had and shoved under her bed and put it on top of the origami pile, the pictures she took with it sitting next to the camera.
"I'll annotate those later, but for now..." She pulled out a file and started writing down her thoughts and observations about what happened.
Ultimate Hunt:
Others speculate that this killing game is the result of the ultimate hunt,
I find it weird that this Ultimate Hunt made this killing game,
It sounds more like ultimates were supposed to be killed during the hunt, hence the name,
Did the Ultimate Hunt really happen?
"None of this makes sense..." Ichika leaned back in her chair. "I wonder if Amami-san really did know what this hunt was about..."
Ichika shook her head, trying to stay focused. "Ah... I should probably write my notes in a different language... It'll be safer that way." Ichika rubbed out the notes she wrote in English and rewrote them in another language.
She went back to writing down some more thoughts in a file. She then pulled out another binder and on each divider, wrote the name of each student and their Ultimate talent of the tab. Ichika then started jotting down some of the behaviour patterns of the other students and other things she's observed about them. She also wrote down some things she observed about the school in the files.
"Found strange door in the library... Weird and incredibly hard obstacle course in boiler room... On the topic of boiler room, found a strange message that said twins b-" Ichika's hand froze as she thought about the message in the courtyard.
"Twins b... horse a... are these clues... connected?" Ichika gasped. "There's a high chance they are, and they are both written by the mastermi-" Ichika stopped her mumbling when she realized an inconsistency.
"But... if the mastermind wrote both of them then... why didn't the horse a message show up in the courtyard before Amami-san and Akamatsu-san were killed? Was that intentional or a stupid mistake on the mastermind's part?" Ichika frantically wrote down as much as she could.
Once she had finished writing down everything she could, Ichika leaned back in her chair and stretched. She looked over at the time and decided that she should go and pay Miu a visit. Ichika hopped out of her chair and left her dorm room, ensuring that the door was locked before heading to Miu's lab.
Ichika carefully pushed open the door to Miu's lab.
"Iruma-san, are you in he-"
Ichika was interrupted by a loud screech and the loud bang of a screwdriver hitting the doorframe next to her, just barely missing her face. Ichika immediately jumped back, the door swinging wide open to reveal a very surprised Miu hovering over a metal object.
"What the fuck!? You dumb bitch, don't just go sneaking up on people like that!"
Ichika raised her hands to her cover heart and let out a long and loud breath of relief. "I'm sorry! But you shouldn't throw screwdrivers at people like that!"
"Well, how the fuck was I supposed to know that you weren't gonna kill me!? And what the hell do you even want from me, you midget?"
"I want to hang out with you! I'm bored and you seem both interesting and pretty." Ichika smiled warmly
