《Killing Game (Rantaro X Reader)》Chapter 8

Y/N's PoV-
The books Amami picked out are really interesting! The seem to all be in the adventure genre, but they're really cool. The nightime announcement had already played, but Amami wasn't back to check on me yet.
"Mm. He's probably just running late, I shouldn't over think it."I sighed, setting the book I was reading on the shelf.
I yawned, rubbing my eyes. That trial....Himiko....I wonder how Tenko's doing? That death hit her hard. Angie deserved that death. It was so...violent.
"I need to stop thinking about the trial. It's over now."I mumbled.
I guess Amami isn't coming tonight. I don't blame him though, He probably has much better stuff to do. I rolled on my side, facing towards the door. What if something actually happened to him? I'm too paranoid to sleep.
"That's it. I know he told me not to get up, but I'm going to find him."I said, grabbing my crutches.
My head spun from suddenly standing. I wobbled a bit at first but steadied myself. I headed towards the door, my leg stinging a bit. I quietly opened my door.
"Alright. Where is he?"I whispered looking around.
Kiibo stood at the front entrance. He looked deep in thought. Maybe he wouldn't notice me go out? As quietly as I could, I attempted to make my way past Kiibo, using the shadows to my advantage. I had almost made it out when....
"Y/N, You do realise I can see and hear you?"
Damn. So close.
"I...Uh....Yes?"
He let out a sigh."Your leg is still injured. You should not be walking."
"I know, it's just that Amami said he would come to check on me. It's getting really late so I was getting worried...."

A puzzled expression crossed his face.
"Would you like me to help you find him?"He asked.
"No, that's alright. I'm sure I'll find him somewhere. Thank you anyways, Kiibo."I said, giving a small smile.
I exited the dorms and went on my mission to find the avocado boy.
.
.
The Movie room and the library were the only places I haven't checked yet. I hope he's there.... I'm getting worried. It was really dark, so I did the best I could to navigate my way to the library. I opened the door and walked in.
"Amami? You here?"I whisper-yelled.
No answer. He must be in the film room-
I felt a blunt object hit me in the back of the head. A heavy string of curses was mumbled as I blacked out.
.
.
I woke on the ground. I groaned. How did I get here? Everything's a blur. I don't know. How strange. My head hurts a lot.... It's bright, so it must be daytime.
"Why am I always the one getting injured...."I groaned.
I heard heavy footsteps heading towards me.
"Y/N?! Are you Okay?!"
Gonta...?
"Mn....No..."I mumbled.
"I will go get the others! Wait here!"Exclaimed Gonta, running to get the others.
Gonta's so nice. I think my head is bleeding? I can't tell. What the hell was I hit with to cause so much pain? A book? No. That wouldn't make me bleed. Does this school have a nurses office or something? I could really use that right now.
Multiple sets of footsteps echoed, getting closer to the door. The door burst open, revealing everyone.
"What the hell happened here?!"Exclaimed Kaito.
"Are you alright?"Asked Tsumugi.
I let out a groan of pain, signalling I could hear them.
"I told you not to leave your room Y/N. What were you thinking?"Said Amami.
In the corner of my eye, I could see a bloodied metal pipe tossed to the side. Not just any pipe, but the same one used for Himiko.
"Nishishi you should probably bandage her head before she blacks out."Smirked Kokichi.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
