《The Mandalorian of Attack On Titan.》Chapter 16

The sound of the Beskar Spear being dropped caught the attention of the surrounding cadets as well as the Scout leadership.
Din:
Mikasa:"Y-yes?"
Din:"Let's spar, if you want to become a Scout with me and fight against titans then you need to defeat me."
Hanji:"Hoh? This should be interesting."
Mikasa:"Huh...bu-but..."
Din:"There's no way I can let you join us if you can't focus on the objective at hand. Just by watching you spar against the cadets and letting your emotions get the best of you shows me that you need more training. If you can't defeat your father in combat..."
Hanji:"What!?"
Levi:"What the hell is he thinking?"
Hanji:"Erwin, say something!" She turned to her commander to help stop Din. He simply looked on with interest and wondered how it'll go down.
Mikasa:"Yo-you're lying right? There's no way you could have said that...dad?"
Din:"Ready your stance."
__________
Earlier
Hanji:"How was your vacation back home?"
Din:"It was fine, better then expected." He replied.
After the little bar incident, he enjoyed his time with Carla and Frieda back home. The only thing that bothered him were the times that Carla would fall into depression thinking about Grisha. It was the first time he knew about it ever since they left until he stumbled upon her crying in the living room.
Several times did he console her along with Frieda, while it worked, it wasn't enough to be able to take her mind off of her husband. So, he did everything he could including; sleeping near her bed holding her hand, taking her out on a little outing, and utilizing his jetpack to show her what lied outside the walls. The beautiful sunset gleamed off of Carla's face and caused an unknown feeling to swirl within Din. Not the paternal feelings for his child, but the feelings of love for a woman.
Hanji:"Hm? Better than you expected huh?"
Din:"What?"
Hanji:"Oh nothing, I bet you and your lady friends all fu-"
Erwin:"Hanji."
Hanji:"What? I was just joking."
Levi:"Keep your mouth shut Four-eyes. We're almost at the cadet grounds."
Hanji:"Why are we here anyway?"
Erwin:"We're here to spread the word early for those who wish to join us when they graduate. It's better to tell the cadets now before we embark on our expedition that's coming up."
Din:"The Premier was satisfied with the results from the last expedition?"
Erwin:"Very, he and other major leaders were surprised of how much ground we covered and took. The infantry units are still outside the wall and will need supplies so they can continue holding their positions. Instructor Shadis gave us permission to go and talk to the young cadets before they graduate."

Hange:"Excited to see her?"
Din:"That would be an understatement."
Hanji:"Awww~, did papa miss little Mikasa?"
Din:"Shut it."
Erwin:"We arrived."
The group arrived to the entrance of the cadet grounds and continued riding onwards to meet Shadis. As they rode around on horseback, they saw cadets training with ODM gear. Some piqued Hanji's interest and others piqued Erwin's interest. Din scanned the entire area to see if he could find her or the boys. Levi noticed he was looking around everywhere and decided to offer some words.
Levi:"Calm down, I'm sure she's fine. Kid isn't one to let others pick on her." Din looked at him and thought about it for a bit, agreeing in the end.
Din:"Yeah...thanks."
The group arrived shortly after, outside of the instructors cabin and dismounted their horses. As promised in the letter he sent, Shadis was there ready to greet his old comrades.
Shadis:"Erwin, good to see you."
Erwin:"Likewise, good to see you in good health."
Shadis:"Hanji, Levi." He nodded, acknowledging their arrival. Then he turned to the main man of attention, the Mandalorian. He eyed him up and down getting lost in his shiny armor and weird weaponry.
Din:"There something wrong?"
Shadis:"No, I just wondered if the rumors were true. A single man saving thousands of citizens, fighting against the armored titan, and developing a new tactic for the Survey Corps."
Levi:"They're true, alright."
Shadis:"So it would seem...Your offspring also caught my interest, she's far different from the others. Mastered the gear within a single glance, excellent hand-to-hand fighter, and displays above average intelligence when it comes to decision-making." He explained. Din felt a mixture of emotions swell within him but the one he felt the most was pride. Pride in knowing she's excelling in nearly everything.
Din:"I see..."
Erwin:"Shall we have a look around the grounds?"
Shadis:"Of course, this way."
__________
Eren:"Oh shi-!" He yelled out as he fell down on his ass. Annie looked down at him with her emotionless face ever so present.
Annie:"Done yet?" She questioned.
Eren:"Not yet! I'm not quitting until I manage to put you down!"
Annie:"Fine by me."
Today, the cadets were once again practicing in hand-to-hand combat. Only this time, it was their evaluation alongside other events needed to graduate soon. All cadets were paired but Eren wasn't so fortunate and ended up getting paired up with Annie for his evaluation.
Annie:"I admire you, Eren."
Eren:"Huh!? Where's this coming from!?"
Annie:"Even faced with impossible odds, you fight until the very end knowing you'll face defeat. I admire your strong sense of willpower."

Eren:"T-thanks." Annie side swiped him and put him on his ass once more.
Annie:"Don't let that get to your head."
Eren:"I did not! Huh?" He looked around Annie and saw several important figures that made him go crazy.
Eren:"Commander Erwin!? Captain Hange, Captain Levi, and Din!!"
Annie:"Huh?" She turned around and was surprised to see the man in shiny armor.
Annie:'The hell is he?' She thought. She followed where he had his gaze fixated and found Mikasa fighting several cadets.
Mikasa dodged and returned punches to several cadets that were pitched against her by Shadis. This was requested by Din to see how far she was progressed in her training and to see what she was capable of. The cadets would rush in all at once but her superior speed and strength allowed her to evade them all.
She was doing perfectly fine until she landed her eyes upon her father. She lost all focus and ended up receiving a punch from one of the cadets to the face.
Hanji:"Ohh, that's unfortunate."
Levi:"For him."
Mikasa quickly recovered and grabbed him by the shirt, throwing him into the other opponents. Now angry after receiving a humiliating hit in front of Din, she grabbed that same cadet and pinned him to the ground unleashing devastating punches. His friends tried to pull her off of him but nothing worked, that was, until Din came down.
Din grabbed the Beskar Spear from his back and threw it near Mikasa. The loud clang caught the attention of the surrounding onlookers.
Din:With a stern tone, he called out to her. She froze in place but soon turned to face him.
__________
Mikasa:"...don't wanna...I don't want to!"
Din:"Do you think anyone you come across with killing intent will let you go if you said that? Forget the titans, what would you do if your mind was clouded in a dangerous situation? That's what you just showed me just now, you nearly killed a friendly cadet. Pick up the spear." Mikasa did as she was told and grabbed the spear from the ground, muttering to herself.
Mikasa:"There's no way...dad would never say such things..."
Din:He yelled out.
The impact of the Dark Saber colliding with the spear pushed her back a few feet. The impacts would cause the spear to tremble in her grasp creating instability.
Hanji:"This is bad! We should stop them!"
Erwin:"No, that won't be necessary."
Hanji:"What!? Didn't you just hear what he told her!?" She asked. Her question fell unto deaf ears as Erwin ignored the question.
Shadis:"What are you trying to get at?"
Erwin:"Nothing, Din requested that I would never interfere in their life. I'm merely respecting his wishes as his commander."
Mikasa:'Why...why? I've never seen dad this scary before...ah no, just once. When he saved me from the Underground. But why is he pointing his saber at me? Was it because I made dad angry, has he started to hate me?' She thought to herself. Her answer came quick when she noticed his movements were getting sluggish.
Mikasa:'No, dad isn't angry...he's sad. Sad because I'm a failure.'
With one swift stroke, Din pushed Mikasa back. She slid on the ground and came to a stop a few feet from him. Regaining his breath, he saw her getting up and suddenly launch herself at him.
Din:'Shit! I underestimated her!'
Din tried to defend himself by predicting where she would appear but failed. As he brought his saber down, she moved to his side and aimed the tip of the spear at his helmet. Knowing full well what the spear is capable of against his armor, Din accepted his defeat.
Din:'I'm a fool...she's learned well over the years. I shouldn't have underestimated her, I deserve this.'
Expecting the spear to pierce his armor, he was suddenly tackled down to the ground. Confused he looked down at his chest and saw a bundle of black hair all over his chestplate.
Din:"You did well, kid. Good job."
Mikasa:"Apologize."
Din:"Huh?"
Mikasa:"Apologize for saying those cruel things to me! Please don't say you won't consider me as your daughter anymore! I absolutely don't like that! No matter what happens, I'll always be your daughter!"
Din:"I'm sorry, I thought if I said that then you'll fight seriously."
Mikasa:"No! Don't ever say that to me again!" She held onto him tightly, refusing to let go.
Din:"I'm sorry, kid, I wouldn't do that to you anyways." He sat upright and gave her a hug.
Back with the leaders, Hanji was relieved the situation resolved itself before it got out of hand.
Hanji:"Goodness, if she lost, I would have ripped Din a new ass!"
All of the cadets conversed amongst themselves as well as Mikasa's friends. Annie and two other boys all walked away from the area to chat about the man. This same man could potentially prove a threat to their plans on the island as shown during the fall of Wall Maria.
