《My wolf friend- Rannett fanfic(AU)》Chapter 4-Rude adventurers

The morning rays shone through the leaves on the tress, and the merrily chirping of the birds could be heard. Bennett was awakened by the sight of the wolf trying to wake him up. He got up as he feigned a yawn. Stretching his body slightly, he got up hurriedly as he remembered that he was still lost in the "never-ending" woods.
"Wolfie, I've got to find a way out today, and only today!" The white-haired boy messed with his hair as said that, panicking. The grey-furred wolf, on the other hand, seemed calm and collected.
"Oh wolfie, you don't understand!" Bennett said in confusion. The wolf remained quiet and turned his head as if asking the boy to follow it in that direction. Bennett nodded, still unsure of what is the wolf's intention.
After following the red-eyed wolf for a while, going through trees that lead the path, moving away bushes that blocked their sight, Bennett caught sight of the city that was not far away. He could not be happier.
"Thank you, Wolfie!" The green-eyed boy thanked the one who helped him get out. Excitement filled his mind as he said "After I go on a treasure hunt, I will surely tell the adventurers this story at our meeting tomorrow!" The wolf nodded as Bennett went off, heading south-east to Dadaupa George. Seeing the boy run further and further, the grey-furred one went back to the forest, as his shadow disappeared into the darkness.
The next day, when Bennett attended the meeting, he told stories of his rough adventure yesterday and how he, once again, got picked up by a tornado accidentally and surprisingly got a minor fracture.
Why surprisingly? Well, the unlucky adventurer usually ends up with severe wounds or fractures at the end of the day. So for a minor fracture in Bennett's eyes, is considered pretty lucky for him. He also added the story about how he met an injured wolf and became acquaintances with it, adding exaggerated words to make it more interesting. Unfortunately, none of the adventurers believed the story of the wolf and stared at each other awkwardly. "If you don't believe me, I'll show you! Let's go to Wolvendom, that way you'll see for yourself!" The unlucky adventurer tried to convince them, with his hopes still high up.

"No thanks, I bet we would get attacked by wolves because of your bad luck," an adventurer said, unbothered.
"Yeah, he honestly got a point," followed by another
The adventurers nodded and agreed with them.
Bennett felt sorrow swirling upon him as he was blamed for his bad luck once again. With a mildly sad tone, he apologized. "Sorry about my bad luck..." he trailed off awkwardly, trying to hold back his tears. "Oh, I have something urgent to attend to, gotta go, now," the white-haired boy said as he ran off to the west where Wolvendom is.

When trying to save an injured animal while drunk you don't really expect many consequences. If you were sober, you'd likely expect to be saddled with a few bills and some work finding the owner. In either case, being saddled with divine duties by an ancient animal spirit is probably not amongst the things you expect. Neither did Eva when she picked up an injured canine after an evening out drinking with a friend to celebrate their arrival in Tokyo. At least those duties are little more than a part time job as a delivery-fox. And they come with room and board, as well as making her life that much more interesting.

I'm Always Talking to Myself
My name is Zach. I’m a typical bland featureless protagonist type. The kind of guy who has purposefully few defining characteristics so that people can project whatever they want on me. Like Luke from Star Wars or what’s her name from Twilight. Most main characters are like me. Kind of flavorless blank slates because we all secretly doubt that we’re Harrison Ford, but pretty much anyone could be Mitt Romney. Yep. Yes indeed, I do spend basically my entire life running an internal dialog to no one. Usually I’m imagining that there are people listening. Like maybe philosophers from Ancient Greece, or researchers from another planet who act suspiciously like the characters from that Instagram comic with the aliens. Stupid Instagram comedians stealing my internal monologue and turning into a wildly successful enterprise which I would imagine has a vibrant merch dropshipping arm and hundreds of thousands of daily dopamine hits for loyal followers. I basically spend all of my time explaining random things to imaginary people (and aliens, and animals, and household items which have inexplicably gained sentience and frankly have some concerns about this whole existence thing). Honestly, it’s both highly entertaining to me, in that it makes me think about why we humans do all of the bizarre things that we do, but also horrifically exhausting and kind of makes you feel like you’re either, worst cast, losing your grip on reality, or best case, becoming Abed from Community. Anyway, I’m sure that I have some distinguishing characteristics, but, in the interest of hypnotic suggestion I’m choosing to omit them until I’m pretty sure that you have subconsciously come to identify with me, or until I feel like it. (By the way, in case I forgot to mention it, a higher power called Aww Thor or something told me to say that this is a slice-of-life comedy adventure and that it's set in a fantasy world with isekai and LitRPG elements.)
