Bennett fell asleep with his head rested on Razor's thigh. Razor looked down at the boy, running a hand through the male's hair. He was certain Bennett's dads would be worried about him soon.
"Benny." He caressed the boy's face.
The boy moaned softly, rubbing his cheek against Razor's gentle hand. "Time to go home Benny."
"No.." he murmured. "I'm sleeping." He huffed tiredly.
"You're responding."
At that comment, Bennett silenced himself and pretended to go back to sleep.
Razor smiled down at the boy softly,"Come on Benny." The male sat up sleepily and looked into Razor's eyes.
"Hi."
Razor held back a laugh,"Take you home?"
"Fine.. I wish you would sleep over.."
"Can't." Razor began clearing up the picnic by himself.
Bennett laid on his stomach, kicking his feet cutely. "Come on.. just stay the night and cuddle me."
Razor was very, very tempted.
"Mei and Liu miss me."
Bennett frowned,"Oh right, sorry."
"We can call.. I'll see you at school too."
"I guess you're right." Bennett stood up, and helped his boyfriend fold the picnic blanket.
Razor grabbed Bennett's hand and walked the male home,"I'll see you at school okay?"
Bennett nodded, looking up at Razor expectantly.
"Kiss?" Razor asked.
"Obviously." Bennett murmured, kissing Razor on the lips softly. Razor melted into the kiss, cupping Bennett's face.
He pulled away, Bennett chasing after his lips, "I have to go Benny."
Bennett wanted to whine and complain it he know it would make Razor feel even slightly guilty. "Okay.. bye Razor."
"Bye Benny." He ruffled the boy's hair before leaving.
Bennett shut the door behind the male.
"Ben?"
"Yes Dad?"
"Just checking to see if it was you.. where've you been?"
"Out with Razor." He sighed, locking the front door.
"Do you still want dinner?"
"No I'm fine." He spoke, going to his room to wait for Razor's FaceTime call.

Razor opened the front door feeling refreshed from spending so much time with Bennett.
"Razor's back!" Mei giggled, running up to the boy,"Where did you go?"
"Friend." He murmured and Mei screamed.
"Razor! Razor talked?!"Razor flushed with embarrassment.
At this Liu came running into the room,"Razor you're back!"
"Liu he talked!"
The boy's eyes widened,"I missed it?" He began to tear up and Razor panicked.
"Don't cry." He got down on his knees to be at level with the children.

Liu immediately stopped after hearing Razor's warm voice. "Oh.. my."
Razor was now flushed red with embarrassment. He gestured to the kitchen to ask if the kids had eaten and they shook their heads.
Mei frowned,"Are you not going to speak anymore?"
"S-sometimes.. I will." He responded gently. "It's hard."
Mei and Liu nodded in understanding. "I want pasta."
"Me too." Liu spoke. Razor nodded, going to his room to drop off his things before returning to the kitchen and washing his hands to start preparing their meal.
Instead of running off to play in the meantime like usual, Mei and Liu stayed at the kitchen island, sitting there and watching as Razor made their food.
The teen finished cooking and served the two kids, about to leave before Mei stopped him.
"Why won't you eat any?" She asked.
Razor turned back and shrugged. He couldn't really tell her that Ji Ling didn't like him to eat out of the dishes he made for her kids, because she thought he would take their food.
"Not hungry." He smiled softly at them and went to his room.
Mei and Liu shared a look of awe. "Razor sounds pretty." Mei spoke before eating her food.
Liu agreed. "I like it."
"Me too."

Bennett grabbed Razor's hand as they walked down the hallway together,"Why are you walking so slow? Are you sleepy?" He asked.
Razor nodded,"Mei and Liu made me play with them."
"Nap at lunch time?" Bennett suggested, walking with Razor.
"Yeah. I will." He squeezed Bennett's hand gently.
The couple entered class and were slightly offput by all of the eyes on them. Bennett attempted to pull his hand away but Razor held on to it firmly.
"Let's go sit." He whispered, pulling Bennett with him to their seats.
"Do you think they're mad at us..?" Bennett whispered. "I don't want a fight to occur.." He frowned.
"We're fine. They won't fight."
"Alright class." Albedo began, "After considering what the consequence of your action should be, Kaeya and I decided you will all have fifty hours of community service to complete. And each of you must write a page long apology, reflecting on your actions."
"What how is that even fair!?"
"Some people would rather be bystanders, therefore all of you are to blame." He smiled coldly. "Or would you all like for me to add more to this?"
Ruby grimaced and looked away from her classmates angry glares.

"Alright now that that's dealt with, make sure to hand me those apologies by the end of the week." He clapped and brought opened his textbook. After a second he looked up at the class,"What are you doing? Take out your textbooks."

"You should come to my house after school." Bennett suggested as they finished their last class of the day.
"I can't. I'm babysitting." Razor sighed, before coming up with an idea,"Would you like to come over?" He asked.
"To your house?" Bennett asked tripping over his shoelace,"Like.. inside your house?" He stumbled into Razor's side.
Razor wrapped a hand around Bennett's waist effortlessly,"If you want.."
"Yes! I want to see your room too!" he added, grabbing Razor's hand and making it go around his shoulder with a cute smile.
"Okay. Tell your dads."
Bennett pulled out his phone and texted as they walked to the bus stop together. "They said it's okay."
"Good." Razor and Bennett got on the bus together and headed to Razor's house. Nervously Bennett bounced his legs,"Ji Ling isn't here.. don't worry." Razor added.
Bennett nodded and looked out the window for the rest of the drive. He felt Razor tap his shoulder, indicating that they needed to get off. "Wait.. this isn't the same way to your house." Bennett spoke, walking with Razor.
Razor shook his head and pulled Bennett along with him to the school. "Oh! You're picking up Mei and Liu!"
Razor nodded and entered the school with Bennett. Not even a moment later, the twins ran up to him, only to slow down upon noticing Bennett's presence.
Mei defensively grabbed Razor's leg and pulled him away from Bennett,"Stranger danger?" She whispered to Razor and the boy laughed before shaking his head.
"Friend." Razor spoke with a blush. "Friend" of course.
"Hi! I'm Bennett!" He smiled kindly.
Liu could feel how kind the male was,"I'm Liu."
"I'm Mei." The girl spoke, releasing her protective grip from Razor's leg.
"Nice to meet you." He spoke. "Um.. I hope you two don't mind that Razor's invited me over."
Mei shrugged and grabbed Liu's hand,"It's fine." She responded, walking ahead of the teenagers towards their house.

Bennett entered Razor's bedroom in awe. "Your room smells good." Was his first comment, as he looked around.
Razor's bed was nearly made, and there was a desk in front of it. On one side of the desk was a minifridge and on the other was the door to his closet, which was not big enough to walk in.
"I have to cook, you can do what you want."
"Oh okay." Bennett responded, dropping his bag on the floor beside the desk and sitting in Razor's desk chair. He was about to just play on his phone when he noticed a framed picture on the desk. Bennett squinted before leaning forward to see that it was himself.
"Oh that's so embarrassing." He blushed noticing that the picture frame had hearts on it.
He looked over to see an open notebook at well, and as much as Bennett wanted to ignore it, he had seen his own name on it. So of course he was curious.
Bennett leaned towards the book, reading what Razor had written. At the top was labeled, how to ask out Bennett. And below it was a list of items he thought would be gifts worthy of Bennett.
Bennett felt like his face was on fire, "He's too considerate for me."
Beside each item was a list of pros and cons. He looked at the page and couldn't help but smile at the sloppy hearts Razor had put on the sides of Bennett's name.
"Benny? I finished cooking so what do you wanna d-"
Bennett looked up with a red face and Razor noticed the notebook.
"O-oh. I hope I didn't make you feel too embarrassed.." He walked over and closed it.
Bennett rolled his eyes, standing up to go lock the door. "Benny?"
The boy turned to face his boyfriend before attacking him with kisses. "You're so sweet." He murmured, wrapping his arms around Razor's neck.
Razor moved his hands to wrap around Bennett's waist, hugging him closely. The two moved backwards together and pulled apart to lay on the bed together. "Wait why are we kissing?" He asked, slightly out of breath.
"I felt really.. overcome with emotion.." Bennett admitted,"I like you a lot.. by the way. And I'm going to get you a gift too."
"Oh Benny.. I don't need a gift."
"Still." He kissed all over Razor's face, causing the male to feel butterflies.
"A-Alright.. if you insist." He gave in knowing how stubborn Bennett would be. He looked down at Bennett and started kissing the boy again.
This lasted for a second before Bennett pulled away,"And it will be accompanied by a date."
"I'm looking forward to it Benny." He smiled and Bennett's heart thumped a bit harder.
"Kiss me." He managed to speak.
Razor gently pulled Bennett closer by the chin and did exactly what the boy asked.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
