Razor sat Bennett down on a bench and kneeled in front of the male, wiping his tears. Bennett sniffed and looked away.
"I don't look good when I cry." He frowned softly.
"You look cute when you do anything." Razor murmured,"Wanna tell me what happened?"
Bennett bit his lips and looked down at Razor's hands, which were on top of his own,"Um.."
"It's fine if you don't want to, I won't force you to tell me anything." Razor assured.
"Ugh.. I do want to tell you.." Bennett sniffed again,"But I just.. know it isn't my fault.. okay?"
Razor nodded, holding Bennett's hands gently.

Bennett's luck had been completely out of control that day. He remembered waking up late, and getting on the wrong bus, which was going in the opposite direction of the school.
Halfway through the bus ride he realized he had been going in the wrong direction and got off at the next stop.
Oh this is so bad..
He had frantically called his dads but both of them were at work. Why did this have to happen today..I'm gonna miss my test.. Bennett looked down at the sidewalk as he walked towards the school building.
"At least they won't be waiting for me.." He murmured, kicking tiny rocks against the sidewalk and stumbling every so often.
Bennett finally arrived at school an hour past the start of class.
"You didn't receive a late pass?" The teacher asked.
"I-I can go get one-"
"I can already tell you won't get anywhere in life. You're so careless." The teacher scolded. "Go stand in the hallway since you want to miss class so badly."
"B-but- the exam-"
"Go!"The teacher yelled and Bennett flinched, going to stand in the hallway. He could see a few classmates giggle as he left the classroom.
With a sigh he leaned against the wall, attempting to not appear bothered by his punishment.
Class finally ended and Bennett exhaled with relief. His legs had gotten tired since he had spent so much time walking and standing.
"Bennett. Come inside." The teacher spoke.
"Yes?"
"After school, you can take your exam. That's the only available time too."
".. Alright." Bennett sighed and left the room to go to lunch.
Bennett noticed that he was the last person to get in the lunch line and frowned slightly. Usually there were less options for the last person in line.

Bennett sighed, following the slow line of students as they purchased their lunches for the day.
Bennett reached the front of the line and was disappointed at the selection of food left. He took his sad excuse of a lunch and went to sit alone at a lunch table.
Bennett sighed, Just a few more years of this.. and then I can get out of this hellhole.
The boy opened his carton of milk and was surprised to see that it wasn't spoiled. Finally some luck. Bennett thought to himself before picking up to see his bullies approaching him.
He quickly looked back down at his food, trying to eat before they actually got to his table.
"Bennett." The leader of it all, Han approached the boy. "I see you arrived late today."
Bennett didn't respond, looking down at his lunch food.
Han turned to his friend Leon, "Grab him."
Leon effortlessly picked up Bennett out of his seat by his collar and dragged the boy out of the cafeteria. Han grabbed Bennett's backpack and followed the two. Bennett struggled to get out of the Leon's strong grip cursing the male's strength.
When will they leave me alone?
Bennett noticed they weren't taking their usual route, instead they were on going upstairs towards the rooftop and not the alley behind the school.
Leon released Bennett and watched the male struggle to stand up. "W-What do you want?" Bennett asked.
Han shrugged,"I'm a bit bored today.. entertain me."
Bennett frowned,"I'm.. not entertaining.."
Han sat down on a crate that was against a wall. "Don't lie. You're so interesting Bennett." He smiled.
Bennett looked down at his feet anxiously, he was trying to come up with any excuse that would make Han leave him alone, but there was nothing in his mind.
Han sighed and took out a cigarette. The male lit it up, taking a long drag of it before smirking. "Bennett come here."
Hesitantly Bennett approached the male, shaking with each step he took.
"Bennett. Have you ever smoked before?"
Bennett nervously shook his head.
Han grabbed the male's arm and pulled him down to his knees,"You can learn today." He snickered, squeezing Bennett's arm roughly to make him yelp and open his mouth.
Bennett inhaled at the pain and found himself breathing in the toxic nicotine. Immediately he pushed Han away, coughing out the cigarette onto the floor.
"Hey you just fucking wasted my cig. Fucking brat." Han kicked Bennett in his side and Bennett cried out. "Give me money for another, that was my last one." Han lied, clearly just wanting to take money from Bennett.

Bennett shook his head, curling up into a ball to avoid Leon's additional kicks.
"Leon search his bag." Han pulled it another cigarette and lit it up, watching Bennett writhe on the floor in pain with a smile. He approached Bennett, giving him a few kicks of his own while he laughed.
"Thanks for the entertainment." The male dropped his half used and lit cigarette over the edge of the rooftop and left with Leon.
Bennett sniffed before letting out his tears and crying. Words couldn't even explain how much he hated that school, and the people in it.
The boy laid there for a moment before he began to smell smoke. Smoke? Suddenly a fire alarm in the school building had begun to go off.
Oh no. Bennett struggled to get up limping towards his backpack and the contents of it that had been spilled onto the rooftop. Anxiously he quickly shoved his things into his bag and limped down the stairs out of the building.
The smoke was evident now, and it had been burning two stories below Bennett.
Bennett collapsed onto the sidewalk a safe distance away from the building and struggled to catch his breath.
He could hear students talking about what had just happened. They were all confused, and so was Bennett.
The fire department arrived a moment later and completely extinguished the fire. Bennett watched as the firemen approached the principal and handed them a notebook.
Bennett's eyebrows drew together in confusion at the familiar notebook. He couldn't put his finger on where he'd seen it before. His mind was too dazed for him to realize it was his own.
The principal opened the notebook, reading out a name and looking around at all of the students.
Bennett barely had time to understand what was happening. A few students pointed to him and suddenly everyone was looking at him.
"What?" Bennett asked, looking drained.
"Bennett, we need to call your parents." The principal spoke.
"W-what? Why?"
・:*:・
Bennett grimaced,"Everyone blamed me for it. They painted me as some pyromaniac who wanted revenge and stuff.." He sighed. "They put me into therapy and all of this other stuff because they were 'concerned about my well-being'." Bennett sniffed. "I just know it was Han's cigarette."
He personally hated talking about that day because of how helpless he felt. It felt like everyone was against him.
Bennett pulled away from Razor gently and continued,"Ugh. Anyways.. after that all the rumors got worse.. so I just decided to move schools." Bennett loooked down at his hands,"I mean.. it didn't make them forget about me..but I do like this new school much more than my old one.."
Razor cupped Bennetts face and stroked the boy's cheek with his thumb.
"And I'm honestly much better here.. especially with you." He smiled shyly,"I'm only like this right now because of the bad memories.
Razor grimaced,"Don't think about it anymore." He hugged Bennett around the male's waist as he was still kneeling on the floor.
"Oh.. come sit up here with me.. aren't your knees hurting from the gravel." Bennett asked with concern.
Razor shook his head and refused to let go of Bennett.
"Razor~ get up~."
Razor sighed, standing up and holding Bennett as he did so. Bennett freaked out, wrapping his legs around Razor's torso and his arms around the male's neck.
"H-hey put me down!"
"If you move too much I won't see where we're going." Razor spoke as he carried Bennett back to the main campsite.
Bennett just relaxed in Razor's arms, laying his head down on his arms as Razor walked. "Bennett." Razor spoke.
"Hm?"
"I'm here now. Whatever happened at your old school doesn't matter here.. and Bennett I believe you entirely."
Bennett blushed,"Thank you."
The two finally arrived and Razor noticed how everyone was looking at the two of them. We can't catch a fucking break. He put Bennett down and blushed at how Bennett had immediately grabbed his hand.
"Alright class, now that everyone's back, I want to collect the worksheets!" Kaeya exclaimed.
Razor stepped forward and handed his and Bennett's worksheet together. It was ripped into two but Kaeya didn't seem to care.
Angel and Ruby stared at the two males before turning to the rest of their friends and whispering.
The rest of the group looked at Bennet and Razor before laughing to themselves.
"I'll be checking these worksheets later. Let's go back to the hotel now!"
Each of the students got onto the bus. Bennett frowned noticing his seat at the back had been taken by Ruby.
With a sigh he sat in the front of the bus and waited for Razor to sit down as well.
"I'm tired." Bennett murmured.
Razor tapped his shoulder and Bennett tested on it, falling asleep as the bus drove them back to the hotel. Razor couldn't help but feel like something was going on with the other students.

Blightbane
Miscellaneous Notes: - I want to see about making a crude map of Shroud to help readers. - I also want to get back to writing Coalescence updates. Schedule Notes: - None for now, updates when I can. [ Thank you for your patience and support as I improve my writing and storytelling abilities. I'm also using this story to better develop lore that extends far beyond it. ] Thanks to another exceptionally talented artist, Hiroeth, Blightbane now has an official cover! Vera was alone again. “You’re completely unprepared. Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly. Among the sentient creatures of the planet, it is the Blightbane Guild’s responsibility to stem the tide. They endeavor to cleanse the land in a struggle of attrition, but they are losing ground. A young man named Caim has been uprooted from his former life and transported to The Shrouded Theocracy, an isolationist nation with fanatical policies. He must struggle to survive with only an unfamiliar strain of magic to aid him. There is a secret to this magic. One he knows very little about. He intends to explore just what makes this magic special. On the far border of the theocracy, a mage scientist named Inis discovers a revolutionary new way to infuse strength from defeated blightbeasts. Using herself as a test subject, this process allows her to grasp magical concepts previously thought beyond her reach. Though she tries to document any side effects that arise, something escapes her awareness. She is playing with a dangerous force that will claim her most treasured asset if she isn't careful. Everyone and everything on the planet is a part of the experiment. The experiment is a lie.

Overseer
From the nothingness I appeared. Bodiless, voiceless, ageless, I have only thoughts and emotions to guide me. My one connection to the world lies in the hearts of a small colony of lizards, just on the cusp of maturing. I reach out to them without hands, inspiring them to be more than what they are, shaping their bodies from visions of lost memories. But where do the memories come from? I am always left with more questions than answers. In my lonely shapeless existence the lizards cannot hear my words, and they cannot feel my touch, and I must wonder, do I even really exist? --- Called emotional, abstract, and beautiful by readers, this story is an observational account of a disembodied entity that has the power to influence and change a race of mildly intelligent lizard creatures. Memories of a previous life often serve as inspiration, but also generate questions as to whom the entity might have been before it became an Overseer. (presented in short chapters) (Thank you readers for getting my story into the top 5 ;u; ~

Midara: Requiem
"When the alternative is extinction, all acts, no matter how heinous, are permitted." The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.
