We did have a lot of fun out on the boat. As much as I wanted to hate Tiana but I couldn't, she's pretty cool. I felt like Jaylen was rubbing it in my face every chance she got. I mean it wouldn't really be a surprise, but it seems like every time she flirted with Tiana she'd watch for my reaction.

I stepped out of the shower. I wasn't ready to get out yet but my phone kept going off. It's probably Bri cussing me out. I haven't spoken to her since the weekend started. I don't want to tell her Jaylen found out. Why so she can talk shit? All she's gonna do is tell me she warned me and I CANT tell her about Tiana she would roast me so fucking hard.

I looked at my phone. Wow, even worst. 13 missed calls and twenty missed texts from my mom.

Mom: honey I'm so worried about you! I haven't heard from you since Thursday!

Mom: please call me

Mom: I love you so much

Mom: I'm starting to think something happened to you!

Damn it. My phone died on the boat.

I texted her back quick.

Kya: mom I'm fine

I swear I got a reply as soon as I sent it.

Mom: come home right now.

Fuck. I threw my clothes on quickly. and came out of the bathroom. Everybody was chilling and smoking in the living room.

"Heyyy" I said awkwardly.. "I need to go home."

"Fuck you mean 'need to go home'?"Mean whined.

I sighed "it's my mom. You know how she is. She's panicking because I haven't been around in 3 days."

"Aight" Jaylen said. She slid from under Tiana quickly. I saw a slight smile form on her face.

"I don't know... I feel like she's going to be lurking outside waiting for me just to see who I'm with. She's so embarrassing"

"I can take you !" Tiana said hopping up.

I rolled my eyes in my head "no! I couldn't ask you to"

She laughed "girl!" She grabbed her purse and keys. "Come on!"

The first 5 minutes were kind of awkward I really didn't mind though I didn't want to get any closer to her or cooler with her. I just kept hearing Jaylen moan her name in my head from last night. What was she doing to her?

She looked over at me. "So how do you know Jaylen and Mean?... can I call her Mean? Jaylen calls her Amina..."

"She rather be called Mean, Jaylen's just petty as fuck... I met Jaylen at the mall and I was trying to ghost her but she kept hitting me up and here we are."

She chuckled. "So Jaylen likes you?"

"I mean she did but I started messing around with her sister, besides she has you"

"I don't know if she has me per say.." she giggled a little "we did just meet but I mean she's sexy and she's not to touch me not, that's a dealbreaker! I don't understand some studs, it's like OK well I like girls! I want to play too."

I thought about Mean and flared my nose.

"Yea.. I heard" I said raising my eyebrows and looking out the window.

She sucked in her breath and as if she was surprised. "We were pretty loud last night huh? that's embarrassing. I know Jaylen was loud I kept telling her to stay quiet but I guess she hasn't been touched in a while"

I blushed a little thinking about Tiana feeling on Jaylen.

"Thank you for taking me." I said quickly changing the subject.

"Girl, it's nothing... I was ready to get away from the studs for a minute anyway.."

"What's wrong with studs?" I asked sitting up.

"Nothing, i just mostly like fems.. don't get me wrong, Jaylen's fine as fuck but I don't know , a lot of studs aint shit"

I had more questions but she almost passed my house.

"Pull in here"

She pulled up and I groaned , my mom came out of the house with the quickness. She was frowned up at first. I know she thought she caught me, but her face eased up when she saw Tiana.

She put on the fakest smile I've ever seen and made her way to the car.

"I am sorry for whatever stupid shit she's about to say" I said under my breath.

Tiana rolled down the windows.

"I was so worried about you!" My mom said before shifting her focus on Tiana. "Hi, you don't look familiar"

Tiana smiled unphased "oh yea, I go to Cosmetology school with Kya. Sometimes we hang out on the weekends.."

"Oh!! Well it's so nice to meet you. It makes sense your hair is so gorgeous and healthy!"

She looked back at me "why didn't you tell me you were hanging out with a girl from your school! I couldn't even get in contact with you!"

I huffed. "I'm sorry ma. Her parents took us out on their boat"

"Yea I'm so sorry I should've check to see if that was okay first... we were going to go back to my place to get some homework done but I guess you want her back now.."

I looked at Tiana kind of shocked. Who knew she could handle crazy strict parents. I didn't expect for her to lie for me like that.

"No, no! That's fine. I'm sure you'll get more work done then that Briana.. I'm just glad to know your okay... and with a better influence" she mumbled the last part under her breath and I rolled my eyes. She swear Bri is terrible.

"Yea well since we had to drive all the way up here I should probably spend the night if I want to get all my work done."

She looked a little uneasy about it but sighed. "Fine, come get your clothes then."

I got out "I'll be right back" I winked at Tiana. I dead ass owe her my life. Thank god I won't be stuck in the house with this lady.

My mom sighed coming in the house behind me. "You're gonna miss this Kya"

I chuckled, what is this crazy lady talking about now.? I'm going to miss having helicopter parents and being 20 years old not being able to go anywhere by myself or act like the adult that I am?

"I'm just saying Kya, this is early years of adulthood and soon we're not gonna feel the need to house you and who knows where your journey might take you this might be the last bit of time you have to spend with us and you're always gone"

I sighed "But that's kind of the whole point ma; Adulthood. it doesn't matter whether is the early years, I want to have fun and I want to be young while I can, soon I'm gonna have a job and be old and not nearly as much freedom"

"I'm not comfortable with how you use your freedom half the time I don't even know who you're using your freedom with"

"That's because I'm grown think about when you were my age didn't you want more freedom too? I'm not in elementary school anymore you don't need to meet my friends and their parents for me to hang out with them."

" I know it's just so scary not knowing what's going on with my daughter. There's just so many scary things out there rapists, murderers, ....lesbians"

My ears burned " are you serious?! you're really trying to compare being a lesbian to rape and murder?" I looked away so I would glare at her.

" well honey a sin is a sin and I don't want any of these things committed to you and I don't want you convinced that this is the way to live"

I rolled my eyes. "Don't worry about seeing me tomorrow either me and Tiana have a assignment to do" I said going upstairs before I had to hear any more of her ignorance.

I didn't asked to be attracted to girls. Hell I was trying to convince myself I wasn't,But I guess it doesn't matter. I like what I like and apparently being a lesbian is just as bad as being a murderer. I got my shit together quick as fuck. When I open my room door my mom was lurking on the other side she looked stunned that she got caught.

"So now you want to spy on me too? And you wonder why I'm never here I can't get any privacy with you."

I shook my head walking past her. I got into the car honestly, her words kind of got to me. I sniffled thinking about what she said pushing back tears. That was the last thing I needed to hear , I already don't like the fact that I am interested in females to begin with.

"You okay?" Tiana asked pulling out of the drive way.

"Yeah I'm fine she just told me that my sexuality is as bad as being a rapist or murderer without knowing that I am gay.. you know normal healthy family stuff."

" damn. That's fucked up. My parents act a little better about me being gay than most people. I guess they realize that I CAN and WILL stop talking to them"

"I wish my mom would realize that, maybe I would actually spend some days at home. The only reason I haven't left is because they're paying for my school and Honestly anything I want. It gives me a chance to be young... I feel like if I get a job and move out and keep going to school and paying my rent I'll just be drained. I'll have no time to have fun."

"I feel you girl that's why I'm so glad I'm blessed to be able to sing. it seems like my job is just fun. I give a list of songs for them to choose from of course all songs that I like and after I'm done performing the music, they usually let me eat and chill."

"Yep. That sounds like an amazing job."

"Tell that to Jaylen for some reason I cannot convince her that it's worth doing even when I met her at the club with our music. She didn't sing live she just played some recordings and we all loved it but it's harder to book when you don't sing live."

"Has she ever sung for you?" I felt myself get jealous before she even answered

"Nope. After we met at the club we talked for about a week and I guess we both got busy. Last night was the first time I talked to her since then."

"And you fucked her." Damn I didn't mean to say that out loud.

She gasped and laughed. "Well damn, yes bitch.. thanks for pointing that out"

I sucked my breath in " my bad. I shouldn't have said that"

She smiled "it's fine... at least I didn't fuck her sister"

I gasped. Okay she got me.

"So what are we going to do? Do you want to go back to Jaylen and Mean? I told her I was spending the night."

She shrugged. "You can stay the night at my place if you want. I'm kinda ready to chill at home anyway."

I mean... do I want to back right now? Jaylen would just rub her and Tiana in my face and Mean... I'm still salty that I didn't know all of this about her until I chose her over Jaylen. Like how are you a lesbian that doesn't eat pussy? And a touch me not?

"Okay cool" I said looking at the window. I can't believe I'm deadass about to hang out with Jaylen's bitch. It's hard not to like her.

As soon as she opened her apartment door my nose was hit with the smell of vanilla inscents. Her cat came running to greet us.

"Aww hey baby!" She said picking him up. "This is Mr.nubs."

Mr.nubs peaked at me in his momma's arms.

I chuckled "oh so you're a cat lady"

She laughed. "He's the only one I have but I love his little spoiled ass." She said setting him down.

I looked around her apartment. It was nice, it had a really earthy feel to it. She had a faux cow hide rug under her coffee table, there was crystals everywhere, multiple paintings of beautiful black women, a small flat screen, and a cute little brown couch.

She smiled shyly. "It's not much, I know... do you want something to drink?" She was making her way to the kitchen before I could answer.

I followed her in. Damn. She had like 20 different liquor bottles chilling on her counter top. None of them were empty though. Thank god.

"Do you have any sodas?" I asked trying not to stare at the glass of wine she was pouring.

"Yea, go ahead. It's in the fridge." She said without looking up.

I went in her fridge. It looks like she meal preps she had 10 small containers with some type of pasta, string beans and fruit in every one. There was a big bowl of something covered with aluminum.

"Oh yea, if you're hungry I made this Alfredo.. oooo it turned out so good.. unless you wanna order something we could do that too.."

I grabbed me a soda. "I'm good, this coke should do." I said watching Mr.nubs sniff at me feet.

"So who painted these?" I asked as we walked back into the living room. I walked up to a painting of a chocolate brown woman with golden curly locks. It looked magical.

"Oh I did.."

I smiled "wow, that's really cool. Tiana you're talented as fuck"

She chuckled slightly nervous "thank you... I'm sorry I'm not usually shy.. just when people talk about my work. It's hard to know what people really think."

"No! I really think it's so cool. Like seriously."

She smiled but quickly changed the subject. "Do you want to watch some tv .. or listen to some music?"

"Music would be nice... matter of fact, you haven't sung for me yet." I said leaning against the wall.

She laughed. "Well damn put me on the spot then"
