Noriko swung her legs over the side of the bed in her new dorm room - housed on the same corridor as the rest of the first years - and blinked lazily around the room. It was the crack of dawn (the normal time for getting up at the shrine), however, she'd spent so much energy the night previous she was still exhausted. The majority of her larger things (which were few) had arrived a day earlier than her, and after her return to the dorm, she'd spent a few hours or so putting everything in it's place.
There wasn't too much: a collection of religious scripts and texts, a couple of novels (she'd totally bought with permission from the Saiin) and other books, and her prized secondary cursed tool, Seinaruha. The blade hung carefully up on her wall above the bookshelf. It would need to be sharpened and polished again after some rough handling during transport, and out of respect for whatever energy had become housed in it. Though not as powerful as her brush (which was imbued with the great sorrow of the ancient princess, Shikishi), the weapon apparently bore all the worries and fears of the people who sought the shrines for guidance... or something similar... or those who just really wanted a miracle.
While Noriko hadn't exactly been able to unlock it's full potential yet, she was sure one day she would. Either way, it saved her time in creating a weapon herself that was strong enough to kill curses and was a respected artefact. While her enthusiasm in her religion was questionable, her deep respect for all things spiritual, and of godly-suggestion, was something she was quite steadfast in.
Reaching for a clean shirt, Noriko began to - slowly - get dressed, pulling on her black spandex shorts and then her school skirt. She spent time picking out different accessories - some gold earrings, bracelets, a necklace. Deciding it was time to indulge after a life of asceticism, she poured over her small collection of jewellery with much enjoyment.
Her uniform jacket was hooded, and unlike the standard buttons, hers was closed with a zip. She'd never really been allowed to wear 'hooded sweatshirts' before at the shrine, but she'd seen a lot of other teenagers wear them - so specified that in her customization options (which she'd had to keep secret from her superiors). Clipping her holster around her thigh, she continued her organization from last night, which mainly consisted of organising her books and texts. Once she was done, she pulled out a cushion, dropping herself into a kneel and beginning her morning prayer.

About half an hour passed slowly before she was drawn out of it by a gentle knock at her door. Raising herself up from the floor, Noriko scampered over to the door, smoothing out her signature pigtails before answering. She was met with a small group of students, who she assumed were the other first years. Two boys - a black haired one that looked particularly miserable - and short girl with an orange bob loitered outside in the corridor.
"Ah, nice to meet you, I'm Nobara Kugisaki," the girl began, bowing slightly as she extended a sheepish hand, which Noriko shook, "we're the other First Years...Gojo-sensei told us you'd be here by the morning and we're about to head down for breakfast, so we thought we'd check in with you."
"Oh, thank you, it's Noriko Kamo - just Noriko is fine - sorry, could you give me a second to get my shoes?" Nobara nodded, taking a step back from the door as the trio watched their new classmate hop around, pulling a pair of white trainers onto her feet. Yuji blinked at the choice before turning to Megumi, querying whether that once an option; he shrugged in response. Noriko snatched up her schoolbag, stomping her feet lightly to ensure her shoes were tightly snug against her feet, and she went to re-join them. "Done~! Sorry, what were your names?"
She plastered a smile across her face.
"A-ah! Yuji Itadori, my ideal type is someone like Jennifer Lawrence, and I'm new to this whole sorcerer thing," the blonde blabbered, copying Nobara in offering a hand to shake frantically, "and this is Megumi Fushiguro."
The dark haired boy offered her a nod, which she returned with a smile. The host of Sukuna, she mused, as she felt a wave of cursed energy roll over her - not yet contained. Such powerful people, she thought as she reminisced on her meeting with Satoru Gojo, yet so light-hearted.
"I see," she stepped out of her dorm room, locking it behind her, "I wouldn't worry too much Itadori-san, I'm new to the whole sorcerer thing too."
She dropped the key into her schoolbag and turned to make her way down the hallway, however, she paused when she didn't hear footsteps accompanying her own. Raising an eyebrow, she gestured down the hall, which seemed to be enough as Yuji bounded after her, lining up with her right shoulder.

"Really?" Nobara blinked, walking on Noriko's left - almost pausing in awe as she realised the girl was a good head taller than her. Megumi skulked behind, hands in his pockets as her eyed her warily. "I thought the Kamo clan was a renown sorcerer family?"
"Oh, they are, but that's the head branch," Noriko explained, shrugging slightly, "I'm part of the side branch - uh, the ones who look after the Shrines? I was a Saiin before I got here."
She tactfully left out the fact that she wasn't even blood-related, figuring she had to keep at least some of her cards close to her chest.
"Eh? Shrines? What's a Saiin?" Yuji muttered, eyes wide, causing Megumi to scoff behind him. While Nobara kept silent, Noriko could tell her classmate had a similar level of understanding. She supposed not coming from an established sorcerer background, it would be strange to know these things.
"Shrine maidens, or priestesses, in the Kamo Shrines in Kyoto," he elaborated, and this time Nobara's eyes went wide.
"A priestess?"
"Mhmm, well, shrine maiden. I awakened pretty young, but I haven't been allowed to practice - of course, that didn't stop me doing it secretly - so that means me and Itadori are in the same boat." Noriko shrugged, shooting Yuji a grin. Her mannerisms, Nobara couldn't help note, were similar to Gojo's - that same carefree attitude and childish grin.
Noriko's tongue burned with the white lie she'd just told. It wasn't a whole lie, she really wasn't allowed to practice since she wasn't an official sorcerer and so wasn't allowed on exorcisms, but just from hearing various gossip about Sukuna's host - she was pretty sure her skills weren't as rough as Yuji's.
"Ah, I'm so relieved, you see, Fushiguro and Kugisaki know everything already and are always so cranky all the time-" Yuji was cut off by a sharp jab to the back of his head, followed by Nobara shaking him vigorously. Megumi remained towards the back of them, watching the newest addition carefully. He wasn't as unaware as Nobara and Yuji were to the whisperings of the institution - the talk among the higher ups and the staff - and found himself not just curious, but wary of Noriko. The Kamo clan wasn't exactly a family that had very clear morals.
"Did you not like being a Saiin, then? Not all who awaken go on to be Sorcerers," he queried as the group walked across the courtyard towards the cafeteria. His dark blue eyes remained trained on her form, specifically on her face as she glanced over her shoulder to him, lips twitching upwards in a smile.
"Mmmm... well, it was rather boring: praying all day, cleaning the shrine, that sort of stuff," Noriko shrugged, her face falling into the same grin she had done earlier when she met them. While Megumi wasn't exactly the most observational person, he could tell a blatant lie when he saw one: "I just decided on a change of pace."
"Eh? Really? I was beaten until I was given a proper reason to becoming a Jujutsu sorcerer," Yuji breathed, blinking up in surprise at her. Copying him, Noriko gaze him a concerned stare, before glancing to the other two. "And I'm on a suspended death sentence."
"O-oh, well, that's a little unfair," Noriko stumbled over her words, eyebrows raised as she glanced to her two other classmates - who remained startlingly unfazed. The world of sorcerers was brutal, she was starting to believe that, however, they were a far shot more benevolent than the Kamo Clan, who she was sure would have Yuji dead before he could take his next breath.
"Ah, did Gojo-sensei not tell you?" Nobara peered round at her, anxiously shifting her eyes from Yuji to Noriko - who followed her gaze.
"Uh... that Itadori-san is the host of Sukuna, or at least a fraction of Sukuna's power?"
"Yeah, that!"
"Well," Noriko glanced to Yuji, who'd folded his arms behind his head. "He seems to be managing it just fine - the death sentence is excessive."
She supposed she had a soft spot for people like that... people who were motivated to only do good.

The Mountains of Mourning
After his rebellion failed, Patrick and his team escaped to another world, thinking to be safe there, and live out what remained of their broken lives in whatever peace they might find. But the world he found wasn't the one he expected, and that remainder of his life threatened to become very short, unless he found a way to survive in this monster-ridden hostile environment. To make matters worse, more refugees started to come in, falling through portals, disturbing the balance. With them they brought tales of war and chaos, the horrors of those who were left behind, and the ravenous hunger for blood of the Tyrant they thought they left behind. Unable to leave the new settlers to their fate, Patrick and his team take on the roles that are pushed onto them, some with enthusiasm, some with reluctance, all striving to build a better world than the one they left behind. They should have realized that portals that open once, can be opened again, and that what they thought they left behind, might one day catch up.
